I want to share my internet connection from my ethernet modem through Airport.
How can I tell from my iMac that I have successfully connected my iPhone to the mac?
Or how can I tell if another iPhone from somewhere else isn't stealing my network?
Will they show up in the finder?
I've tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing the computer, deleting the com.apple.iTunes.plist file, restarting, connecting at different times... nothing seems to work. I've got the most recent updates on both iTunes and iphone. iTunes works fine on its own, but just gives me the spinning ball whenever I connect my iphone.

Whenever I connect my iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1) to iTunes (10.6.3) on my Mac (OS 10.7.3) it always freezes, always for about 30 seconds and then it will work again. But let me note, this only happens on the first time I connect my iPhone for the first time I turn on my Mac. I'm not sure if that makes sense. So, when I turn on my Mac and I open iTunes and connect my iPhone, it will freezes but after 30 seconds it will work. But let's say I am done syncing my iPhone and I unplug it but a few minutes later I want to sync it again, if I connect it, it won't freeze. But let's say I restart or turn off my Mac, but after I open iTunes for the first time after I've booted and I connect my iPhone, it will freeze.I've had the same issue with my last iPhone so I know it's not isolated to my iPhone. I have deleted iTunes from the Terminal app and downloaded iTunes from the Apple website, but the issue will persist. Also, I don't have any podcasts synced on my iPhone. I've read that sometimes causes it. I ONLY have music and apps synced.

I'm trying to restore my iPhone 4s and it needs to be connected to iTunes in order to proceed. When I connect my iPhone to my MacBook Pro iTunes 12.0 quits unexpectedly and now my phone is useless!

When I logged in it said there was an update for iTunes software. However the update failed. I quit iTunes. I then plugged in my iphone but iTunes is not seeing it.

using a MacBook Air 2013, just upgraded to Yosemite in the hope that it may fix my camera issue but to no avail.Â
Photo Booth greets me with the issue "There is no connected camera". Both Facetime and Skype don't recognise it either, same error message.Â
Have tried the terminal command kill all VDC, reset the SMC and PRAM as suggested online, as well as upgrading to Yosemite as I said before.Â
After some time wifi will disconnect of my Imac, but it is stell running on my ipad, iphone and macbook pro.

I use my iMac (10.9.3) at home to Sync with my iPhone (7.1.1) to keep a full backup copy. I have the setting "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected" active, and up to recently this worked nicely. However, I think since the update to iTunes 11.2.x there seems to be a problem:
- when I am not at home, I use my MBP (also 10.9.3 and iTune 11.2.2) to charge the iPhone.
- in contrast to earlier versions of iTunes, connecting the iPhone to the MBP causes iTunes to open. It is NOT possible to sync because the iPhone is connected to the iTunes library on the iMac.
- when I disable the iTunes option "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected" on the MBP, the next time I connect the iPhone to the iMac iTunes does not open. And when I open it manually and "mount" the iPhone, the iTunes option "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected" is disabled. It seems that the iTunes option "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected" is now stored on the iPhone?
When starting FCP X, it comes up with an error message that says, that it is unable to connect to my NAS-Server (located at home, not at work). First i thought this is because i have a project linking to some files on the NAS, but later i found out, that FCP X tries to connect to the media of Iphoto, which is located in my home network on a NAS even if there is no project containing any pictures of Iphoto.Â
The error message continuous to appear even if i click OK. What to do?
I saw this mentioned in a few other threads, but I thought perhaps it deserved its own thread. Anyone else having this problem? No matter what I do, iPhoto is convinced that I'm not connected to the Internet and refuses to do anything with Places. I recall telling iPhoto to feel free submitting my information to the net when I first ran it, but now I can't find any related settings in Preferences. Not sure what to do.

I have a SATA hard drive that works perfectly when connected through an external USB enclosure but whenever it's plugged into the internal SATA connector on my MacBook Pro I receive the error message "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." any time I attempt to move or copy a file to it.Â
This doesn't happen with any other hard drive I connect internally, so I don't believe it's an issue with the internal cable. Â
I have made sure all permissions are set to allow reading and writing to the drive as well as selecting the "Ignore ownership on this volume" option in the Get Info panel.

I just switched from a PC. All my backup (files, music, photos, etc) are stored onto a Windows-formatted HDNow i have error when i try to transfer them over
It gives me the error-36did a bit of research but none of the remedy worked (i.e. terminal>dos_clean)I have previously transferred files from the same external HD onto my macbook in which i purchased last year and don't recall having any problems. (although not all the files were transferred onto my macbook, only a few files in which i needed) What can be the alternatives for me to transfer all my files over onto my imac without having the reformat my external HD?

I receive this error every time I tell iTunes to download the updates to my iPhone apps. Funny thing is, I only get the error once, if I click Update All again it goes through without a problem. This has been going on for almost 6 months through multiple versions of iTunes, iOS and a whole new iPhone setup from scratch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced the HD in my MacBook Pro. Just after, I retrieved my old files from the Time Machine backup, which I made just before the replacement. During the first sync of my iPhone via iTunes and while I was trying to sync my contacts I saw the message "iTunes could not sync contacts to iPhone because an error occurred while committing data". After that, I lost my iPhone contacts (I have them only from iCloud). The only problem is contacts, all the others (Calendars, Apps) are normally syncing.

iPhone 6 and Macbook Pro with iTunes. Both are current with software updates as of 12/11/2014 When running sync or backup I get an error message that the iPhone has disconnected. Both are on the same network and are connected together with a USB cable. Last successful backup was prior to iTunes upgrade on 12/9. Today I successfully backed up my iPhone to a windows machine with the latest version of iTunes, no problems. Seems the Mac version is the issue not the iPhone. I was going to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it on the Mac but I could get it to uninstall. iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.2

My Dad has a 2006 17" iMac that is fully updated and it does have a camera built in as it should. My Dad also has a cannon all in one printer scanner copy machine hooked up to the computer. As of this moment, when I hit an application like Photo Booth or something else that uses the camera, the program says that no camera is connected.
I did a little detective work and found where someone hooked up an all in one HP device and the scanner took over the "port" that the iSight camera was supposed to be on. I don't know if this is the problem or not but it was all I could come up with. I am pretty Novice when it comes to computers and don't know how to tell what is on any port or how many ports their even are for that matter.
I currently have a 20" iMac with a second 19" widescreen DVI monitor running in portrait mode, is there anyway I can connect a 3rd monitor to extend my desktop over the 3 screens ?
I know we get this alot but My comcast internet is not working this morning and after a call to them i got my Windows partition to work but not the mac partition.
I basically need to reset my IP adress but idk how.
