I receive this error every time I tell iTunes to download the updates to my iPhone apps. Funny thing is, I only get the error once, if I click Update All again it goes through without a problem. This has been going on for almost 6 months through multiple versions of iTunes, iOS and a whole new iPhone setup from scratch.

When you sync your iPhone you sometimes get the following message:
Itunes has found purchased items on the iphone thats arenot present in your itunes library.
There are two reasons for this:
1. I have deleted apps in iTunes that I don't want, but not on the iPhone. I don't want to transfer the apps back to iTunes because I want them gone.
2. I have bought apps on the iPhone that I do want to keep. I want these transferred to iTunes.
So if I have both types 1 and 2 then there is no good answer. Preferably iTunes should offer to sync and choose which apps to transfer and what not to transfer. Is there a way to change this behaviour? By the time I sync I don't know what I've done so I'm usually not sure how to answer the question. Sometimes I like to bulk delete apps in iTunes--it is easier than doing it on the iPhone.

I have an iMac that is my main computer. I download all of my music from iTunes on that computer and update my iPhone through that computer. I also have a MacBook that I use while traveling. Is it possible to sync the iPhone to the MacBook and update the MacBook with whatever is on the iPhone (and not update the iPhone with what is on the MacBook)? The MacBook is not updated (iTunes wise) and I don't want to erase what is on my iPhone. However if I could do the reverse of this then that would be better, that way I can download songs to my iPhone as well as my iPod to update for my vehicle. If this isn't possible, is there any way to somehow get what music is on the iPhone to my iPod so I can play it in my vehicle?

I notice that the IPHONE shows one of my old email address so my password does not work. All of my other devices has the correct email address associartedl with the app store, and icloud. How do I correct my iphone to show the correct email so that the password will work? i can find no place to correct the email address for the app store on my iphone.

I am a new mac user (total convert--am on my second iMac in a month and am about to buy a macbook), and am having trouble with my itunes service. My first 24" iMac developed a clicking HDD, so I was lucky enough to be able to bring it back to the shop for a replacement iMac. I made a time machine backup of the first Mac and copied directly to the second one (which was flawless....how come I haven't been using macs prior to now? I've lost dozens of backups on PC). The only issue I've had is with iTunes--I keep getting an error that the iTunes library is newer than the version of iTunes on the computer. Is there anyway to fix this without losing my entire library of songs? I did make up a physical copy of the iTunes folder on my first Mac, just in case, so I assume that I could delete iTunes and reinstall a fresh copy, update it, and then copy the iTunes folder over to the new version. But this is a Windows approach to the issue and there is probably a simpler way of fixing this. Alternately, I could do the same but sync my iPod and copy everything to my library that way.

Whenever I try to update them, I get an error message that reads " We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (13). I've gone online and saw that some people were fixing the problem by erasing some kind of hidden cookie. It seems to be somwhere in /library/Cookies file but I don't have a file in my library labeled "cookies". I also saw another post where they tried to delete it in terminal, but that had no effect for me.

If I choose to sync my iPhone (4S) with iTunes on the MacBook, will it delete my apps and data (as the warning in iTunes leads me to believe)? I do use iCloud backup on the iPhone, and I've got all kinds of apps installed (and arranged to my liking). I think I used to be able to plug my iPhone into my iMac and, via iTunes, be able to click on the icon for my phone, then choose Apps across the top and when the screen opened showing my apps on the various desktops I had built, I could click on the apps and move them from one desktop to the other, and rearrange their order. Now, in iTunes 11.3.1, when I click on the app and try and drag it, the whole desktop moves. It is easier to rearrange them via iTunes on the iMac vs doing it on the iPhone as you can make the app icons bigger, which makes it easier to see them.

Is there any way to permanently keep my iphone and iPad apps OFF of my macbook pro? Every time I connect, I ensure that "sync apps" is not checked, but then iTunes says I will lose my purchases if I don't transfer them over. This does not seem to be the case, however- aren't all of your app purchases automatically registered on iCloud? So I click transfer purchases, but this of course then puts EVERY APP onto my iTunes, which takes up a whopping 36GB of space. I can't afford to have that much space taken up! Should I just ignore the iTunes warning, or is there another way to ensure that iTunes doesn't keep these seemingly useless and HUGE backups on my macbook?

It's been sometime since I last synced my iPhone with iTunes, relying on WiFi backup instead. The problem I have, is that everytime I sync my iPhone with iTunes, iTunes re-orders my apps and installs apps that I've previously downloaded but have since deleted/uninstalled.
When I open iTunes and preview 'Lewis' iPhone 4' under the Apps tab when viewing my device I can see the representation of an organised iPhone homescreen that is nothing like my own (maybe how it used to be many months ago though). I know that if I hit sync, that is what I'll see not what I had!
What's interesting is that if I uncheck 'Sync Apps', what is shown (although faded) is how my iphone is actually organised. When checking 'Sync Apps', all changes to show me a chaotic and fundamentally different arrangement.
It seems to me that my sync is out of sync!
When every I click install in iTunes Store for an app for my iphone it says downloading [apps name] but does not downloads it. This is happening for all apps I want to download.

So I have 102 apps that can be updated via itunes. When I go to update them they start downloading like normal. When they finish downloading the app, the update is not applied and still shows as an update available for these apps.This happens even if I try to select just one app. I have already tried logging out of my itunes account and rebooting my system, but it hasn't fixed this problem.

I have an iphone 5s and from some months now I am not being able to update any apps. It happened all of a sudden, one day I could do it like always and the next day I couldn't anymore. I have just synced 148 out of my total 225 apps to my new iPhone - and spent over an hour and a half sorting them out again in to my desired configuration! I am now concerned that my apps will be reinstalled and reconfigured again when I sync my music - forcing me to again spend the time sorting them out. My iPhone 4s does not sync with itunes. It starts syncing as usual but the sync times out once it reaches "Determining apps to sync". In ITunes it shows that music, videos and pictures are synced but none are found in my phone. I have rebooted the computer and phone a few times but it didn't work.
