I have no problems with regular calls this way but I can't get Facetime to make the correct tone through the # key. I've also tried Continuity Keypad and this doesn't work either. Is there a way to make the # key make the correct tone?

Feb 7, 2009I recently had my power adapter stop working and I was thinking of taking it in for repairs. The thing is that I'm not 100% sure its the adapter that came with my computer because a bunch of friends have the same laptop and we might of got the adapters mixed up.Anyways my question is, is there a serial/unique identifier on that adapter that is paired with your computer?

Aug 15, 2009I've tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing the computer, deleting the com.apple.iTunes.plist file, restarting, connecting at different times... nothing seems to work. I've got the most recent updates on both iTunes and iphone. iTunes works fine on its own, but just gives me the spinning ball whenever I connect my iphone.

Jul 5, 2012Whenever I connect my iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1) to iTunes (10.6.3) on my Mac (OS 10.7.3) it always freezes, always for about 30 seconds and then it will work again. But let me note, this only happens on the first time I connect my iPhone for the first time I turn on my Mac. I'm not sure if that makes sense. So, when I turn on my Mac and I open iTunes and connect my iPhone, it will freezes but after 30 seconds it will work. But let's say I am done syncing my iPhone and I unplug it but a few minutes later I want to sync it again, if I connect it, it won't freeze. But let's say I restart or turn off my Mac, but after I open iTunes for the first time after I've booted and I connect my iPhone, it will freeze.I've had the same issue with my last iPhone so I know it's not isolated to my iPhone. I have deleted iTunes from the Terminal app and downloaded iTunes from the Apple website, but the issue will persist.Also, I don't have any podcasts synced on my iPhone. I've read that sometimes causes it. I ONLY have music and apps synced.

Jun 19, 2014I use my iMac (10.9.3) at home to Sync with my iPhone (7.1.1) to keep a full backup copy. I have the setting "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected" active, and up to recently this worked nicely. However, I think since the update to iTunes 11.2.x there seems to be a problem:
- when I am not at home, I use my MBP (also 10.9.3 and iTune 11.2.2) to charge the iPhone.
- in contrast to earlier versions of iTunes, connecting the iPhone to the MBP causes iTunes to open. It is NOT possible to sync because the iPhone is connected to the iTunes library on the iMac.
- when I disable the iTunes option "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected" on the MBP, the next time I connect the iPhone to the iMac iTunes does not open. And when I open it manually and "mount" the iPhone, the iTunes option "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected" is disabled. It seems that the iTunes option "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected" is now stored on the iPhone?
Mac Pro :: 3870s Paired Together?
Apr 27, 2009Would a Radeon 3870 Mac Edition be compatible with a PC purchased 3870x2 for crossfire under windows? I've heard that standard 3870s for PC (such as the Sapphire) are recognized in OS X and Windows when paired with a Mac Edition 3870.
I can buy a 3870 Mac Edition for a good price, but am curious if I opted for an X2 on top of my single 3870 would give any significant improvements over two Mac Edition 3870s paired together? And more importantly, would it work? Also, is the Mac Pros (2007) PSU enough to power a 3870x2 and a 3870 at once?
Power Mac G5 :: Adding Memory - Does RAM Need To Be Paired?
Dec 13, 2007I'm upping the RAM in two PowerMac G5's. One is an early 2005 DUAL 2G. The other is the later 2005 DUAL 2.3. They currently have the stock RAM that came with them: 512MB for the Dual 2.0G; and 1GB for the Dual 2.3. I'd like to get them both up to between 2-4GB's each. I'm willing to go with third party RAM if it's at all compatible, ya' know the Kingston kinda stuff. That's all I can afford to bring them up to par with RAM.
Is there any standard compatibility issues when running RAM outside of OEM stuff? Also, does the RAM need to be paired? or even numbered? For example, if I had 2GB+512MB of RAM in one machine would this work? Do they have to be even in slot usage? Also, if third party compatible, would any matching spec RAM work or is there something "APPLE" specific about RAM? Example: G5-dual 2.3 requires 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-4200).... would any matching spec RAM work?

Hardware :: WDS - Extreme Paired With Three AirPort Express?
Oct 14, 2010So I have recently set up (and eventually got working!!) an Extreme paired with three Airport Express units as well as an Apple TV (latest Generation). Only problem I have is that in one of my rooms (the one furthest away from the Extreme) the Express is struggling a bit and on Air Tunes the signal drops out quite frequently when playing music. So I am considering adding another "wired" Extreme upstairs to this room to cover that end of the house. In addition I was thinking of putting another Express in my sons room - to also cover the garden.
My question is - is there a limit to the number of units you can have talking to one another _ I think they are working in WDS configuration (the wizard took care of it eventually so I don't know for sure) - and I am sure i read somewhere that you can only have 5 devices running in a WDS network? Would the Apple TV be classed as a device or is that simply a wireless client?

Hardware :: Drive Recognized When Connected Via USB But Not When Connected Via FireWire?
Jan 28, 2009I consider myself very good at all things Mac. But this one has me stumped.
I've just arrived home with a WD My Book Home Edition 1TB external drive. Formatted for Windows it mounted correctly via FireWire and USB.
First things first: I formatted it for the Mac... Mac OS Extended (Journaled), two GUID partition tables. So far so good. Each partition is recognized, each mounts like it should.
Time Machine then backed up my Intel iMac... again, everything's normal. No odd or unusual behavior.
Here's where things get strange.
For whatever reason I formatted the drive via USB. But my intention hereafter is to connect via FireWire... I need each USB port for peripherals.
But the drive isn't recognized through FireWire. I'm asked if I want to initialize it. When reconnected through USB the drive mounts again.
What's going on? Why is the drive recognized when connected via USB but not when connected via FireWire?

Jul 23, 2009I can't seem to get my Macbook Pro 13" 2.26Ghz (OS 10.5.7) connect to my iPhone 3G (OS 3.0) via bluetooth. In the Bluetooth Setup Assistant the macbook sees the iPhone 3G, but they don't connect after I accept the connect on the iPhone 3G. The codes on the Macbook and iPhone are the same and, therefore, should connect.
I've searched the Apple Discussions (support) but there is no answer there.

The closest thing i can see is an apple button/setting.when i selected apple and told it to play again, it said it would overwrite the prev converted verison.
