I know we get this alot but My comcast internet is not working this morning and after a call to them i got my Windows partition to work but not the mac partition.
I basically need to reset my IP adress but idk how.
My Macbook Pro was working fine when suddenly Safari froze, so I forced quit. After opening Safari again, the page just stayed white and wouldn't load. None of my other programs requiring internet are working either (ie. AIM, Skype), even though my internet connection is listed as connected and other devices using Wifi are working perfectly. Could this be some sort of virus?
it was my internet or modem acting up but come to find out it is in my computer itself. It's a 09 Macbook and has gone through some tough times. ( IE being dropped, crashing and so forth.)The program installed on it right now is the Snow Leopard and has run great for the past 3 years, But now i'm having problems this year. The tech guy said that the ping could read IP address's but not website addresses. But when I put in an IP Address, I get. What I need.. It just won't read the actual website addresses. On my computer my Internet Diagnostics says (as goes) [code]
My friend's white Macbook is having some problems connecting to the internet at a specific location.
My macbook and other laptops connect to the internet without any problem, but she has been having problems.
Airport connects to the network and even assigns an IP address properly, but the safari or firefox doesn't open any websites.
I tried manually assigning IP address but didn't work either. I am not very good at solving problems with Macs so any help is welcome. sometimes it is a bit difficult to assign the IP address, but it does end up assigning one.
I have a MPB early 2011 and I have talktalk internet. I have absolutely no problems with my wifi up until the last week. I can use the internet perfectly fine downstairs when I am in the living room (where the router is located) as I am typing this using it, however when I go upstairs i.e. to the bedroom directly above where the router is situated I am still connected to the internet at the wifi symbol is black however i lose internet connection and I am not able to use the internet at all. This is a new issue as before, I was able to use my MPB anywhere in the house without any problems. Â
I don't believe it's the router as my iPhone connects fine upstairs and we also have a MPB late 2013 and that works perfectly fine upstairs. Â
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
I just got a new MacBook and have been copying files via Ethernet from my pc. One thing I noticed is that whenever an Ethernet cable is plugged in nad hooked up to the router, the Internet stops working on both mac and pc. However, my torrent client on my pc continues downloading so it's not actually stopping, the browser is just failing to connect as is the official network status. Why is this?
I use a 4G Galaxy Nexus to broadcast a private WPA2 network. The 4G signal is always strong, and I've verified that the internet is active on the broadcasting device, and that other non-Apple devices maintain a solid connection. However my macbook pro does not lose the network connection, the internet stops working only on the macbook pro and I must "turn Wifi Off" and back on using the top right menu icon in order for the internet connection to resume working on the laptop. It will stop working every 5-10 minutes.
When my new mac is switched on (running lion) and on the Internet and working fine, occasionally the wireless symbol keeps greyish out but the Internet etc is still working fine. Does this mean anything?
We just bought a new iMac this afternoon. Haven't been able to connect to the internet, although the assistant says the connections are working fine. The ethernet light is green. Safari continually shows a message that says, 'your computer isn't connected to the internet."
I went to preferences "bluetooth". I noticed that my MM is not connected but still works. Here's what is on bluetooth... Apple wireless mouse: Connected: Yes Apple's mouse connected: No Bob's mouse no This is the MM. How can I get it connected. I also have a MS wireless mouse running. The MM like I said does work but not the way it should.
I have a problem with my camera on my 2.66GHz iMac.I was in Sofia (Bulgaria) for three days.I came back and sow that my camera wasn't working and this message appears in photo booth and skype: There is no connected camera .Is this a hardware problem,or a software one and how can I fix it?
I have a 13" MacBook Pro and it is not connecting to the internet! Airport says im connected to my internet connection, but safari won't load the internet. I tried Firefox and still, the same result. I resetted the modem and the router, but still nothing. The internet connection on my other computer works fine. So I got on the Windows partition and it connects to the internet! So it's just OSX that won't let me connect cause my Windows partition works fine.
Here's the set up: one room in my house has a PC, and cable modem, my other room has the iMac. I used an ethernet cable to plug into the router and it claims to have internet on it's tiny squinty eye of lies. Now my iMac can reach the 192.168.1.1. site wirelessly, I changed the basic things everyone suggests.
Here's the problem: airport says its connected to the 192.168.1.1. area connection, and yet I cannot get online. Assistant says that i can't get online. I'd like to know why, so I can die happy.
I've been having a weird issue for a few days, my computer is connected to the internet and I am able to login a messenger and use spotify and other programs that run through wifi but for some reason none of my internet browsers open any page.
My internet provider says it has a good signal. whether i use wifi or connected straight to the modem its the same, some pages load some dont, always different on what loads and doesnt.  If i connect to a neighbour who has the exact same internet speed and provider it works perfectly fine. Ever since i did a software update 3 or 4 days ago it has been happening.
What I'm trying to do is set up the apple tvs to be connected to a router that is not connected to the internet, which we'll call Router B.The Mac Mini has all the movies and TV Shows on the iTunes account is hardlined into another router that is connected to the internet, which we'll call Router A.Is it possible to have the Mac Mini hardlined into Router A (to have an internet connection) and simultaneously connected wirelessly to Router B (so the AppleTVs can pull from the Mac Mini iTunes.)?Or vice versa, hardlined into Router B (non internet connection) and Wireless to Router A (internet connection).
I have recently purchased a cricual m4 256 gb ssd for my MBP mid 09 15''.i have installed lion, on it is have reset the ram, enabled trim (also disabled trail an error), sms and so on apprently it is not working. Most of the time i experience beachballs and lags for 30 sec to 1 min. i find it very fustrating, so i unplugged the ssd and plugged it to my mac with a usb. it is now working fluent but not as fast as it could but with 36 mb/s in writing speed and read speed. compared to 10-15 mb/s before. i am aware that it should perform a lot faster. what is wrong? i know it is not the ssd.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 2,53 Ghz 8 gb ram.
So I am using Cisco VPN client, and when connected to the VPN network I get files but can no longer use the internet! I tried once to use macs built in VPN but there are options in Cisco that I didn't see on the mac version, and it did not work at all. I am using Cisco version 4.9.01, on a mac pro 10.5.6.
I have a little internet problem. My mac mini does not recognise my ADSL modem, so I can only connect in a PC, and then plug an ethernet cable to connect my mac, with the pc, then I can use internet on my mac. I think that I'll buy a news usb internet modem, but for now on, I would like to use Parallel desktop (witch run very good ) to connect my mac on the internet. Problem : When the windows xp of my parallel desktop is connected to the internet, my mini mac is not, even if I tried all the networking option available.
Recently, after installing the new AEBS sometimes the internet on the MBP just stops, airport says it's connected and shows 3-4 signal strength. It works for about 15 seconds and then stops, if I turn airport off and then back on it's working again, but stops shortly after.
I've found when playing warcraft 3 on LAN with the MBP in the bedroom, that it lags a bit, and shows the "disconnect" player dialog/button.
I opened Airport Utility on the MBP, clicked Manual Setup and it's timed out after a while and says "An error occurred while reading the configuration, make sure your Airport wireless device is plugged in and in range of your computer or connected via ethernet and try again (-6722)". It's only about 3 metres away from the AEBS (I shut it down and turned it back on also) and my dads Mac is about half a metre away from it, mines plugged in via ethernet, pretty sure dads other Mac in the studio (iMac) works just fine too.
I did boot it up about 1hr 20m's ago and it was working, buffered a TV show online to 24 minutes, I unplugged it and took it down to the bedroom and I started watching it and then the show stopped and said Buffering 43% but didn't change, it's currently back near the AEBS plugged in. It just seems to be the MBP, does anyone have any idea's? just let me know if there is any more information I can provide.
is it possible to run NTP (ntpd) over a local area network that is not connected to the internet to synchronize computer's clocks to another machine on the same network?
In Date and Time preferences could I just change Set date and time automatically from time.apple.com to something like machine.local?
What would I need to run on machine.local (as in ntpd with what arguments) to get everything to work?
Have a iMac, intel based. Recently downloaded latest version of SpringCleaner. Used it to clean up unused disk space. Now Internet is connected. Can even check email with Mail, but no pictures in the emails. Safari just keeps loading with no results. Can't access internet with anything. Ran disk repair. Even turned off firewall. Not my router, my Macbook is working fine.
Internet works fine on iPhone but not on MacBook pro airport says fully connected but Bo Internet. What to do I've searched all over and tried diagnostics
While browsing the web I keep randomly getting messages that my computer isn't connected to the internet. Sometimes I can load a new page in another tab, but when I go back to the tab that wasn't working and refresh it still says I'm still not connected. It seems to go in and out pretty often. I don't have this problem on my pc laptop so I don't think its my DSL. It's happened randomly since I got the Air, but seems much more frequent (probably happened 15 times today).
I just got a ps3 and what it boils down to is that I cannot use the ps3 and my macbook on my wireless network at the same time. I have the late 2008 unibody 2.0 macbook. Each plays nice with the network individually but as soon as I try to connect to the internet on both at the same time they crap out and I get the "your computer is not connected to the internet" error message in safari and a similar message on my ps3.
I tried researching it online and all I could find is that the routers DNS server could possibly be issuing the same ip address to both units and this could be causing the problem, seeing as you can't have the same ip address twice on a given local network. I've done all the basics like restarting each machine, disconnecting and reconnecting etc and it doesn't seem to work.
one of the coffee shops that i frequent has wifi, and recently i haven't been able to get online. it says i am connected to the network will full strength, but am not connected to the internet. i even bought my ipod touch tonight to check, and it worked just fine. everyone around me is surfing as usual... why am i experiencing this? it's been this way for a few weeks now. did they somehow block me from connecting?
I'm having problems with my connection to the internet. Either in Snow Leopard or in Windows (Bootcamp), sometimes it says that I'm connected, but I have no internet access.
Most of the time everything works as normal, but at least 4-5 times a day the problem presents and I can't access any webpage, tho it do says I'm connected to my Airport Extreme.
Same thing happens with my iPod, at the same moment. So it must be something with the AE, but I'm completely lost as to what it is.
I stupidly downloaded and used ccleaner from the appetite and since using it my MacBook will let me use the internet even though wifi appears connected. I plugged in a cable from the router yet still no internet.
