MacBook Pro :: Need Piece Of Fabric To Cover Keys When Lid Closed

I'm sure you've all experienced this (if not then you don't have a unibody macbook pro, lol). I've had about 8 unibodies both 15" and 13" and the light grease fro the keys occasionally gets transfered to the screen in the shape of keys, and I've seen many people talk about a little piece of fabric (looks just like the screen cloth) they place over the keyboard to prevent this from happening. Anyone have an eBay or another online link to something like this? I think keyboard covers are silly, so just looking for the fabric solution.
Twisted body, slanted keys, loose keys, battery cover, and freese trackpad. Lets see how many members in this forum is suffering from Apple's poor Quality Control in these new Macbooks!
Cause heat problems? I am using my MBP with the cover closed for space constraints , connected to an external display along with keyboard and the mouse is BT.Over all am I looking at causing damage if I do this for long term.I'm contemplating selling it and downsizing to a Mini.

The battery life is good while I'm using it, but if I leave it with the cover off for a few days (asleep, I assume), it'll be mostly discharged when I open it up. I assume this isn't normal - it shouldn't be losing that much charge when closed and hibernating. I don't have "wake for ethernet access" checked, if that makes a difference. What's going on - why won't it hibernate?

I have a new MacBook Air with an External monitor. I have no keyboard or mouse or trackpads attached to it. When I close the cover, instead of going to sleep, it goes into clamshell mode. I even opened a support session with Apple, and the technician said I should take it to the Genius Bar. Did that and the Genius found that the same thing happens on every MacBook.Why doesn't it just go to sleep?
I just returned my macbook air to fabric settings and put all my valuable stuff on a usb stick, everything from the usb stick works but office 201 it says that there was a problem with my installation-program of office and that i need to install it again but i don't have any disk from word just the office folder in my application folder.
picked up a unibody last Saturday night, and opened the battery cover tonight. The latch was opened with little resistance, but now won't close. The latch edge sits about 1/8" up, and I can't find anything which would seem to prevent it from closing.
Anyone else had a troublesome battery latch, and how did you resolve it?
So I was cleaning off my new Macbook Pro (a month old) the other day and noticed one spot wouldn't clean, I figured it may have been something stuck on there so I tried a little harder with no luck. I must of missed it, but there's a little piece of white dust (about 1px or so in size) behind the glass . I'm going to try to ignore it, but it's a little hard when you're as OCD about your electronics as I am, whenever I turn on my Mac it seems that my eyes drift over there. It isn't even that bad in my opinion, when I sit at a normal distance it's nearly unnoticeable, it's only when I look for it that I can see it.
I want to produce a logo for a piece of coursework so it doesn't need to be to professional or anything, but does anyone know of any free software or apps I could use?
Any way to get rid of it. I know its a far fetched thing to ask, but I figured I would give it a shot. I noticed it a few days ago and now I cant stop seeing it. Also, do any of you guys know of a non matte fingerprint resistant screen protector? I looked into it a little bit more. Turns out it might be a dead pixel. I have applecare. I was wondering what they will do. Will they replace my screen, give me a refurbished 09 model, or give me a brand new computer?
I just got the new incase hardshell for my 13 MBP, but the bottom piece doesn't clip on properly. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm following the installation instructions, but am I doing it wrong?
I have bitdefender for mac and it has found tp pieces of mail in my saved mail boxes and it won't let me delete it. It says I don't have permission to delete or move this mail. I have reindexed the box but it did not work.

My macbook is from 2009 and now a piece from his screen doesnt show any pictures anymore. I went to a shop from Apple and they told me that its a contact problem and to solve this it will cost about U$700, thats almost the price from a new mac!
I have an 13" MBP that I ordered new in April, 2012. It is running Lion. I have an external monitor that is capable of 1440x900 resolution. I have an external keyboard and trackpad hooked up, and I like to close my MBP up and stick it in a BookArc. I want to be able to have the internal display disabled and to have the MBP only allow me to put windows on the external display, so long as the lid is closed. I also want to be sure that I am taking advantage of the resolutions available on my external monitor, which are higher than those supported by the internal display (specifically 1440x900).Â
This doesn't seem to work because I either have to allow the MBP to continue to draw my desktop across both screens (internal and external), OR use the "mirror displays" mode, which restricts my resolution of my external monitor. This means I either forgoe the additional resolution benefits of my external monitor, or I end up with windows that fall off-the-cliff, so to speak, because they are drawn in the portion of the desktop that would be shown on my internal display (which is closed).Â
I've read the community support pages on using the MBP with an external monitor, most relevantly, this page. It simply recommends using the "mirror displays" option. However, this option, as I mentioned above, doesn't allow me to make use of the additional resolution, and my external display looks bad. how to keep the 13" MBP in closed clamshell position, with the internal display disabled, and use my external monitor at resolutions higher than those allowed by the 13" MBP but which are available to my external monitor when not in "mirror displays" mode?

I am wondering that is it essential to connect power adaptor all the time while operating in closed calmshell mode? When I unpluged the cable it didn't work. Is there some way?
The little white plastic doohickey that opens the battery compartment on my laptop (powerbook g4, I thinks) has broken off and now I can't open the battery compartment.I'm trying to find out if my battery has the appropriate serial number for the recall, but I can't open the battery compartment. Plus, the battery no longer works at all, so I have to use the AC adapter if I want to use the laptop at all--NOT GOOD!Does anyone know if this dumb little piece of plastic can be replaced, and if so how? (I'm sure it costs something like .000000003 cents to manufacture......)
I've been lookin online for a few weeks now but haven't had much success - so I'm asking the MR small business owners out there what they use to run their business. I don't know if there is a software piece out there, but I want to do the following:
- keep a record of customers - track income/expenses - create invoices - track billable hours - track mileage
Right now I'm using a combo of Pages/Numbers to do all this, but with a growing customer base I'd like a more all in one solution that doesn't cost the earth. I'm starting to get files all over the place, and tryingto remember which invoice number I used last so I can type it into a new invoice is getting annoying.
I have a PDF document with 33 pages. I need to print this out, but what I want to do is have two pages print next to each other on one piece of paper. I tried looking around in Preview, but didn't find anything that would let me do this. Is there any way?
Picked up a G3 the blue one piece at a garage sale, Had 9.01 on it......just got it up to 9.2.2 it only has 128mb of ram and I found another 128mb stick laying around from an old pc I had. how many memory slots this thing has? The picture tube is so darn big, I can't see the guts of the G3. Guess I'll have to open it to see.Â
I've been using itunes for a while and it just messed my entire music library up! I've found something that is more Winamp style for me named "Cog". Now my problem is that I want to control it with the F7, F8, F9 keys which are the rewind, play and forward keys, but when pressing any of them it works both on itunes and cog player. How can I disable the Itunes link to it? I want it to control only Cog player.
I'm using the thin aluminum USB external keyboard and suddenly my 8ik, diagonal of keys stopped working (now I'm using my laptop keyboard). Anyone know if this is typically a sign of a broken keyboard, or a user issue?
Is there any app that will allow me to remap keys from my pad to keyboard keys ? For an example if i'll press a button on my pad - the text editor will type in a letter ?
