I just returned my macbook air to fabric settings and put all my valuable stuff on a usb stick, everything from the usb stick works but office 201 it says that there was a problem with my installation-program of office and that i need to install it again but i don't have any disk from word just the office folder in my application folder.

This is the worst piece of software I have ever used. Before I even use it.
It does not accept the product key provided in the box (ordered from amazon). I have tried virtually every possible misprint/mispelling of the product key... but the product key seems to be easy enough to read to me...
Microsoft's site has no support number listed. Microsoft assigns you installation a unique number, then does not accept it for help on the support site.
Office 2011, you are a steaming pile of crap, and it will be a cold day in hell before I buy another Microsoft product.
i m not sure if it has something to do with office 2011. coz i did not change any system configurations, only installed office for mac today.
airport also seems broken. can not sharing my internet for iphone.
internet sharing is on, firewall is off. iphone can connect to the wireless, but wont DHCP the right ip address. before it was something like 10.0.0.x when its working. now the ip adress i got on the iphone its 169.254.xxx.xxx

I've recently bought an external hard drive that works on Thunderbolt 2 (LaCie d2 3TB). When I connect the new drive to my Macbook Pro through the thunderbolt port, the drive isn't recognized. However, the drive works fine through a USB connection. I thought that Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 are compatible, however this doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe it's because the OS X / driver / firmware version that I'm working on that is not updated? I work on an early 2011 Macbook Pro, OS X Snow Leopard.

I am haveing and issue conencting. The probelm is when an ethernet connection is working Wifi is not, when Wifi is working ethernet is not. The issue is the netowrk control panel says Im always connected through wifi and ethernet 100% of the time but Safari or Firefox will not load a web page. It is strange because in Terminal I can ping any website. I'v restarted the router, the computer, I have even reloaded the OSX Lion. I have al the most up to date definitions. From a little bit of reasearch I see this is a ongoing issue and it is very frustrating. It is not a netowrk issue all my other devices work perfect when connected to wifi. 3 windows machines ipad iphone etc. Is the network card bad on the late 2011 macbooks?

In prep for moving to the "Cloud", I downloaded Lion last night without the knowledge that my 2005 version of Office would no longer be supported. Silly me, now I need to either switch to IWORKS or something else, immediately, so I can get back to work. If I download IWORKS or LIBRE will I be able to open my OFFICE files that are already on my computer?

I updated to Lion on my desktop a few months ago and I swear now I can't read older Microsoft word and Excel documents correctly on this computer using Office 2011. The document opens and you can see all of the data in a preview window (from finder) but once it opens fully the data/words are not there. I have Lion on a brand new Macbook Pro I just purchased and installed the Microsoft Office 2011 and it opened the excel document I was having trouble with fine.I can't find many links for Office for Mac issues.

I upgraded it to 2011 when it came out (late 2010/early 2011). I have since made a new password and forgotten what it is. The mac tells me to reinstall my microsoft office but when I do, with the office 2008 disc, it tells me I have MORE RECENT SOFTWARE and to use that. I did it on line and cannot find it again.

Outlook only says that it has encountered an unknown problem and is shutting down.I talked with Microsoft support but they don´t support their trial versions only premium.That I think is funny because if the trial version is not working how can you trust them that the premium version is working.

So I got Office 2011; it's pretty good stuff. Unlike Windows based systems, it did not remove Office 2008 which is different. I am wondering if there is any reason that I should or should not remove 2008 since I have 2011 (exact same programs).

Two strange issues that I can't fix on my new MB Air 13 with MS Office for MAC 2011 and Excel.
1) I can't get the Standard Toolbar to show up when I open a new worksheet. I go to view, toolbars and then see that the Standard Toolbar is checked, but it doesn't show up. The only way to get it to show up is to do a series of steps:
- uncheck Standard Toolbar menu and go back out;
- go back in and check the Standard Toolbar and back to the spreadsheet
- the Standard Toolbar still doesn't show up;
- so then I click on the Layout tab on the ribbon and then it shows up!
2) I can't see the bottom of the window/spreadsheet - which means I can't resize the window. To resolve this, I have to do these steps:
- open system preferences and change my MBA screen resolution from 1440 x 900 down to 1280 x 800
- then go back to the spreadsheet, and resize the window (make it smaller on the screen)
- go back and resize the window back to 1440 x 900
- and then close the system preferences at this point, the Excel spreadsheet window is smaller and I can see/use the bottom of the screen to resize, etc.
Can't figure out what setting I have wrong or why I can't get Excel for Mac 2011 to work correctly on the MB Air screen.
using Office2011 cannot open .doc files and .xls files from the Windows2003 server. Could last week, not this week. copy file to desktop and open no problem. open the file from NAS, no problem.
error message received: ******.doc uses a file type that is blocked from opening in this version

Under normal office lighting, I find anything other than 100% brightness seems too dark. But I've been getting huge amounts of eye strain so am wondering whether to turn in down some more, say to 50-75%, but worried that will strain my eyes even more. I've had about 8 unibodies both 15" and 13" and the light grease fro the keys occasionally gets transfered to the screen in the shape of keys, and I've seen many people talk about a little piece of fabric (looks just like the screen cloth) they place over the keyboard to prevent this from happening. Anyone have an eBay or another online link to something like this? I think keyboard covers are silly, so just looking for the fabric solution.
