My iTunes sidebar shows that I have two devices are attached when in reality no devices are attached. I delete them and every time I open iTunes, they show up again in my sidebar.Â

For some Internet radio streams, iTunes 9 on my old PowerBook shows artist and song title in the small window at the top; iTunes 10.6.2 does not show this information for the exact same stream. How can I get the information to show?

iTunes won't change more than one file's information at once (e.g. changing the componist at 10 Songs), even if i mark them together and iTunes tells me if i want to change them at all. It doesn't change a thing at all. If i change them one after all it works. I have about 25.000 Songs which i want to edit.

How come when I download a CD on iTunes the information is not shown? For example instead of the song names it will say Track 1 and so on.

Everytime I open ITunes, it says "determining gapless information" which kills performance and randomly stalls ITunes. Is there anyway to disable it from determining gapless information?

I want to edit this information and the album art outside of iTunes, because while it's very easy to do within the application, it doesn't seem to effect the source file's information.

I'm on my 14th email to iTunes support and after 14 days of not being able to log into my iTunes account, I'm getting a bit desperate. Every time I log in, I'm redirected to the login screen that asks for my account name and password. I've reset my password 4x and Apple has done it twice. Still no change. I'm not getting any response that my password is wrong and I'm allowed to fill in my credentials as many times as I want. It's just redirecting me to the login screen and asking me again. If I log out and back in, it tells me after login that I need to press "ok" to verify my account information, after which it redirects me to... the login screen.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I set up my Apple ID from appleid.apple.com and was hoping to use the Download Album Artwork feature in my iTunes library (who doesn't like to have some nice cover art for their albums? Huh?). Unfortunately, It came up with this message:
So naturally, I go on and click Review and it takes me to this:
I click Continue and it leads me to this:
I check I have read and agree to these terms and conditions. Eventually, I get to this screen:
I fill out all of the billing address, and don't have an iTunes gift card, so I leave that out. What is left? A Credit Card field! I am only 14 years old! I don't have a Credit Card! Is there any way to get past this? I have noticed that the same thing happens in the Mac App Store. All I want to do is get the Album Artwork and get a few free apps for my iPod Touch as well as my MacBook.

I open iTunes and first thing it does (every time!) is "Determining Gapless Playback Information" for a small (400 tracks, approx) subset of my 4,000 tunes library. I've checked and re-checked my tunes. I have NO tracks set to "Part of a gapless album".this process repeats itself sometimes when I'm importing new tunes, even after the app has been launched for awhile. iTunes starts scanning the same 400 (approx) files AGAIN, as I add new music. It takes 30-60 seconds to run through this process. Annoying!Â

I know how to browse the time machine backups I just need to know what files contain the preferences/logs/plist or whatever settings files that are needed to be replaced on my newly installed system.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhy is it that for some of my songs, iTunes displays, right below the application title, "iTunes," the name of the song, and below that, the name of the artist. In some other cases, it displays the name of the song, and below that, the name of the ALBUM. All fields in song info are filled out correctly.
Secondly, how do I change my password on here?

I had an iTunes account before I got my MacBook Pro and they have different IDs. The first account has all my purchased music and I would like to use it with my new computer. When I try to download music of the previous account from the Cloud, I get the message that the iTunes account information differs from the computer. Can the first account be edited, or can the two be merged without losing anything or having to buy again?

I downloaded some new music apps for my iPhone 3GS today, only to find that some wouldn't sync to my iPhone. After much messing around I realised that some needed iOS 4.2 or above - mine is stuck on 4.1 at the moment.Â
When clicking on 'Update' in iTunes (9.2.1) nothing happened. So does that mean, this version can't support iOS 5 devices?Â
I tried then downloading the latest version of iTunes but of course it wouldn't install on my ageing G5 Quad which is stuck on OS 10.4.11, as it can't run the latest OS.Â
So it seems I'm stuck in an upgrade loop here. But if I upgrade the phone to iOS 5 from another computer - is it possible that I can still sync successfully from my old version of iTunes or not?Â
I had planned to upgrade my computer this year anyway but it's such a shame we are forced into it in this way. The computer itself still runs just fine but will likely just be heading for the recycling centre due to the abandonment of Power PC software/emulation. Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my iTunes library on my 1TB external, and recently I have noticed that when I do stuff like changing the genre on songs that it takes a while to process. Anyone else having this problem? I have contacted WD and they said to try a new USB cable and then if that didn't work, to reformat it. So right now I am in the process of moving the 700gb to my imac so that i can try to reformat.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have two Macs, and on one I went through the arduous task of labelling a bunch of CD-R's I made ages ago in Itunes, and now I want to import those discs via different encoding into another computer, but don't want to have to re-enter all that info. When I put the discs into the original machine, the info is still assigned to the disc. I want to migrate that info to the other machine so I won't have to re-enter this stuff. I feel like I found this data at one point ages ago, but now I can't.

This has just started happening recently. I believe it may have something to do with Fluke; however I have totally uninstalled iTunes twice and it keeps happening. This seems to happen when iTunes is "Determining Gapless Playback Information".

I've got a pretty big collection of music on iTunes - almost 1000 albums - and I'm pretty anal about the way it's stored and managed and I regularly change the song and album information to suit my own "house style". All my music was stored on a Dell laptop and was fine - I had no problems with changing and editing the information. I recently bought a MacBook Pro and shifted all the music files from the old machine onto the new one (a lengthy and frustrating process) and since then, I've had a lot of hassle in terms of amending and organising my iTunes collection. A lot of the music I've purchased from the iTunes store has reverted back to its original state, no matter how many times I've changed it.Â
For example:Â
Lana Del Rey's Born to Die (Deluxe Version). I've removed the "Deluxe Version" from the title but I quit iTunes or sync it with my iPod, it automatically adds it back. I've changed the information in the song info, I've even changed it in the sort info just to be sure, but it always changes back.Â
The same with the Anthems Electronic 80s compilation. I want to call it Ministry of Sound: Electronic 80s and remove it from Various Artists (by deleting the album artist from the information). But after iTunes is quit or its been synced, the same thing happens. It appears as two albums on my iPod - a handful of tracks appear under the old title while the bulk of them appear under the new one.Â
It's happening across loads of albums, all ones I've downloaded (the stuff ripped from CDs seems to be okay). I've done as much as I can in terms of the song info but no matter what I do, it just reverts back when the programme's quit or I sync my iPod. I don't know if it's anything to do with the fact they're in the Cloud or they've been imported from a Dell laptop or there's an underlying problem with iTunes ...
I just jailbroke my iPhone 3GS and installed MyWi to work with my iPad. I also tried it on my MacBook Pro using Bluetooth. After I paired my iPhone and MacbBook Pro together everything worked fine. Now under the Airport Menu I see a separate category labeled "Devices" which is just below where my Home Network is.
My questions is how do I go about deleting this? I've tried everything. I deleted my device under Bluetooth Preferences, quit MyWi, messed around with the Network Preferences and it still appears under the Airport Menu. I even clicked connect but of course that doesn't work since I quit everything and deleted the device in Bluetooth settings. It's not even listed under "Preferred Networks" when you click on the advanced tab. It appears as "(my last name) Hotspot" and is under a tab labeled "Devices"
