Mar 7, 2010I have imported many cd's into itunes and I know how to do it with info as long as it is a store bought cd or a copy of a store bought cd. I have been looking forever and cant find a way to import a mixed cd into itunes and have it recognize the info for each individual track. Feb 22, 2012I have two Macs, and on one I went through the arduous task of labelling a bunch of CD-R's I made ages ago in Itunes, and now I want to import those discs via different encoding into another computer, but don't want to have to re-enter all that info. When I put the discs into the original machine, the info is still assigned to the disc. I want to migrate that info to the other machine so I won't have to re-enter this stuff. I feel like I found this data at one point ages ago, but now I can't.

Jan 30, 2010Is there a way to stop iTunes from embedding artwork into every file(track), and instead store 1 copy per album?
From what I remember thats the way cover flow used to work. Why the switch to embedding artwork in every file? A extra 20+MB per album is just ridiculous(Using a 800x800 PNG).
I know its possible to store the album artwork without embedding it in the file. Because I have a few older albums that still use the old method (storing only a single copy of the artwork in /iTunes/Album Artwork/).
OS X :: Stop ITunes From Adding Songs Automatically?
Nov 6, 2010I've been trying to figure out how to sort this for ages now, and I just can't get to the bottom of it to save my life. This is the situation. I've just downloaded an album, and it ended up in my Downloads folder, so I moved it to the desktop, then played one of the songs in the album. s soon as I played the song, it opened up in iTunes and then automatically added the song to the music library. I don't want it to do that, I've spent the last couple of hours sorting out my library, adding album artwork, name changes etc and the last thing I need is things getting automatically added to the music library and cluttering and messing things up.

Aug 24, 2014I sometimes like to put times (e.g., 10pm) in the titles of my events. I do this because I want to see the time in the event title for certain events. Apple's ical thinks it knows what I want (it doesn't!) and deletes this information from the title, probably to schedule the event at that time, which is ridiculous because I sent the time of the event when I create it. how to turn this function off.

Software :: Safari Stop Adding MPG To Split Filenames
Jun 27, 2008If I download split files named .001, .002, etc. that are done with HJ Split or similar, which can be rejoined in Machacha, Safari recognizes that they are pieces of a movie file and adds .mpg to the end. This means before I can rejoin them, I have to rename every file removing the .mpg and then confirming i want to change the extension with a mouse click-only option. Is there anyway to disable this auto-naming convention?

Jun 28, 2012Every time my co-worker exports a group vCard for me to import into my address book, a note is added (in the notes field) to each vCard which begins "Categories:..." followed by a list of Address Book Groups which that card belonged to on his Mac. How do we STOP address book from appending this note every time he exports a group vCard - it's hard for me to individually delete this text from every card that I import (I do NOT want or need this "Categories" information in the notes of my address book cards). I wish iCloud was an option for us right now, but since I cannot upgrade my computer right now, it is not.

Oct 20, 2010I have been using iTunes with PC for about 5 years or more and never really had any problems ripping my CD collection, even when I switched at one point to using dbpowerAMP and then importing into itunes manually. I'm using itunes to rip again now.
Now I have my first mac (mac mini 2010). I am starting to import parts of my CD collection that I never had room for on my old notebook PC.
So before I went to bed last night I tried to rip and import 3 CDs using itunes exclusively now to do the ripping because I have come to the realization that itunes plus AAC is good enough for my ears and especially my equipment (ipod classic 160gb & Senn PX-100's). Now these 3 CDs I know for a fact the iTunes Store sells and definitely has the artwork and track info for.
Well, the first 2 CDs loaded artwork and track info fine after I remembered to check in the settings about the artwork anyway..
Then comes the 3rd and newest CD I tried, Eagles OF Death Metal's "Heart On". I stick it in the mac mini's slot *giggles* and then the iTunes pane at the top center of the screen keeps scrolling and saying something like "searching for grace-note whatever".. Then after about 2 or 3 minutes of that it just gives up and acts like it doesn't know the CD and lists the songs as "track 1, track 2" etc..
Now this CD is immaculate. It has been ripped before on my PC with no problem. I double checked to make sure the iTunes store sells it because in the past I've had to download my own artwork if it's something they don't sell in their store.
So I'm at a loss here I don't want to have to enter all this info manually as I have about 500 CDs to rip and only being on number 3 I didn't know if it was just this one being trouble, or what to expect how many are going to do this?

A lot of times I have a set or other 1 hour - mp3's in my itunes, but I sometimes like to fast forward to certain songs in my car....car fast forward is not as good as itunes fast forward so it sometimes takes forever....it would be nice if we could place track markers in itunes then that info is saved in the mp3 or something....so that when playing fro my iphone i can just fast forward to those markers.....know what i mean?
..it would be ncie to be able to do htis without splitting the original long mp3 into a bunch of small ones...
