I used to have an older macbook where i could hit the f11 key and that would automatically move all the windows to the side and would let me click on a doc on my desktop. now i have a macbook 3.1, intel core 2 duo, 2.2 GHZ, l2 cache 4 mb and it no longer has that feature. the f11 key is reserved for the volume and i really need the volume. i think that feature is located here on the f11 key in this photo, Â

but when i click on f11 nothing happens. even if that feature were available it would not be an ideal solution because i really need the volume keys. i've tried reassinging the volume keys to other keys but i can't figure out how to do it.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Lion on my iMac 27 with the flashdrive that I purchased from Apple. I've been very leary of doing this, but finally gave in. So far I'm not thrilled. I have a MacBook Pro in another room with OSX 10.5.8 (Snow Leopard) which operates off Wifi. It is too old and under rammed to support Lion. It is used mainly by my wife. The only problem is that the mail does not work on it. I assume it's because of iCloud. iCloud stinks, AFAIC. Is there any way I can run email without iCloud? I don't have ANY other "i" products to sync together. I only have the laptop and the iMac 27. I DON't want iCloud if I don't have to use it. MobileMe was much better!

I'm running OS 10.7.4 on an Intel desktop Mac. I'm using Safari 5.1.7, as well as the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox. I have the most recent version of Java. Pop-up blockers are off. The Java plug-in is enabled. When I try to use a particular web page - specifically, Amazon's - in response to various simple commands I get the error message: javascript:void (false); This happens in all three browsers. Needless to say, the important function on the web page that I'm trying to utilize doesn't work when this error message appears.Â

Just moved to new iMac with OS Lion. The Mail function used to search the body of the email, but now it does not (apparently).[url]More importantly, the search function is not looking at my old emails in separate folders. And apparently it is not looking at emails not received by the new computer either. Thus I have no historic email search function, which is annoying. How can I force Mail to look at and search all the other old email folders?

Apparently, apple removed the 24hr clock function from calendar (former ical) application.
It was until Snow leopard OS that this function was still possible, with the new OS Lion, this very useful function is no longer available.
It is true or is just me that I can't figure it out how to find it.

I have Lion and the old fax program I was using (PageSender), which will not upgrade for use with Lion. I am going back to using the built-in fax option that Mac has in the Printer functions. Is there a way to create and use a custom fa cover sheet? Or am I relegated to jus the simple text the printer window opens with? And, ues, I do need to have a fax - no everyone, especially the older folks that are clients for our business, are using email, or even using computers. That means to service all of my clients, I must fax.
