Apparently I allowed iCloud to delete all of my calendar and reminder information from my Mac.Can I restore it from iCloud, if not can I restore it from Time Machine?
For the last day or so on my mac mini some of my widgets are dead. Like the clock shows the wrong time and am and not pm. The calendar is a day off. Though some are working like istat pro and and a couple of others.
I just got my first Mac and have been using Windows all my life. I use ACDSee Photo Manager on my Windows 7 machine which I really like because of its calendar view function. I'm able to choose a specific day, or month and all my pictures for the requested date pop up. I'm wondering if there is anything like that in iPhoto, Aperture or another MAC based photo application out there.
I have an iMac Intel Core 2 Duo (24inch). on 10.4.11 Is there anyway of going back to how it was running 24hrs ago? Then everything was fine (as always) but i decided to hook up my unlocked 1st gen iphone to OS3. Last night the imac seemed fine and this morning all seemed well. I came home from work and tonight and it seemed to be lagging slow so i though i'd do a restart. It wouldn't do it so I turned it off via the on/off button. On restart it went straight to iphoto which gave a command to update iphoto to make the thumpnails of better quality. I asked i not to bother just now, but on looking at iphoto i noticed that none of my photos were present. I tried to shut iphoto down, it wouldn't. I tried to open safari anf after some time it fired up only to shut down unexpectidly. Now all apps hang. It seem that i've lost all my photos somewhere and possibly all my music. I can only think this is associated with the iphone update last night. Is there any way of goping back 24 hrs or can u offer any other assistance please. It may only be an apple thing as firefox is responsive
I have landed up on the desktop with a temp file. Its been there for weeks, something to do with illustrator I think. I am confident I don't need it any more but I cannot delete it, says it cannot be deleted. Infact I cannot even move it, it just jumps straight back to its place.Â
I tried "sudo rm" in terminal but when I try to drag it onto the terminal window, it just moves back to the desktop and does not enter its location into terminal.
I have been setting up a large sharing network with my housemates and have been messing around with sharing permissions quite a bit. I saw a group named wheel and foolishly removed it from somewhere... I think it was the Macintosh HD... the Macbook stopped!Upon researching, I now know what the wheel group is, and that I should have left it the **** alone. At the time though, I thought it was someone in the house with access to my whole drive.I have tried repairing permissions in disc utility, but still get spinning wheel (ironic) upon restart.
DO I need to re-install OSX?
The macbook pro came with snow-leopard and I upgraded to lion, if I re-install from 10.6 disk will I have issues?
Since 10.7.4 (I'm guessing) my Safari extensions are removed whenever I login at my office location.
I recive an error stating:Â
"Safari can't use extension XYZ because the extension is no longer Valid"....The extension is then removed. Back home I can reinstall and use as normal.Â
As I mentioned this is a relative new "feature" My company uses proxy servers, to manage Internet access. My Computer is not managed by IT, they have no permissions or control over it.
This "feature" only occures when I'm in the office. All Extensions are removed!

I just added the latest Safari update but noticed that certain toolbar icons have now gone missing: FYI - the missing ones are 1password and the other was Amazon (i think)Â
I bought a new macbookpro and tried to move my large Iphoto library with migration assistent. The assistent created a new user account. It wasn't nessesary because I will be the only one to use this computer. The process of removing (not only the user, but also the 45gig home folder) takes forever... Now more than 24hours and I can't shut down system preferences. Can I interrupt this process, without affecting my admin account, and re-delete the user in the normal way? (Without the safe-option that overwrites 30 times the things I want to delete) And how? I know it's best to leave it alone, but time is a factor.
I've activated icloud and its caused problems with my calenders. if i stop it will i loose all my calender events. Its duplicated and removed some for my mobile devices.
I recently installed Lion on my iMac 27 with the flashdrive that I purchased from Apple. I've been very leary of doing this, but finally gave in. So far I'm not thrilled. I have a MacBook Pro in another room with OSX 10.5.8 (Snow Leopard) which operates off Wifi. It is too old and under rammed to support Lion. It is used mainly by my wife. The only problem is that the mail does not work on it. I assume it's because of iCloud. iCloud stinks, AFAIC. Is there any way I can run email without iCloud? I don't have ANY other "i" products to sync together. I only have the laptop and the iMac 27. I DON't want iCloud if I don't have to use it. MobileMe was much better!

I am unable to get Mac OS 10.7.3 with Safari 5.1.5 Lion to function. Anyone familiar with the probelem and solution?? i've tried a number of suggestions that have all failed.Â
I'm running OS 10.7.4 on an Intel desktop Mac. I'm using Safari 5.1.7, as well as the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox. I have the most recent version of Java. Pop-up blockers are off. The Java plug-in is enabled. When I try to use a particular web page - specifically, Amazon's - in response to various simple commands I get the error message: javascript:void (false); This happens in all three browsers. Needless to say, the important function on the web page that I'm trying to utilize doesn't work when this error message appears.Â
Just moved to new iMac with OS Lion. The Mail function used to search the body of the email, but now it does not (apparently).[url]More importantly, the search function is not looking at my old emails in separate folders. And apparently it is not looking at emails not received by the new computer either. Thus I have no historic email search function, which is annoying. How can I force Mail to look at and search all the other old email folders?
