Apr 2, 2012I just downloaded Lion, and it's not letting me use any of my Office products. There are big white circles with lines through them surrounding the icons for Word, Excel and PowerPoint. When I click ont he Word icon, I get the following message: "You can't open the application Microsoft Word because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."

Jul 5, 2012I just updated my new macbook pro (OS X v. 7) yesterday and now I can't launch any Office 2011 programs. I have reinstalled and reinstalled form the Microsoft Backup disc and can't get it to work. I can't get a straight answer about compatibility on the Microsoft website. how I can get my office programs to work?Â

May 17, 2009I have Photoshop CS and microsoft office for my macbook pro with 10.5.6.
the programs were working fine untill about a week when my computer crashed during an update to 10.5.6. I had to reset the NRAM and PRAM, and then it started up working fine. now when i attempt to open and office program or photoshop, they dont open and it says it has closed unexpectedly.
Also, when i try to reinstal it from the disk, the intallation app closes unexpectedly as well.
Since the crash, safari and firefox open, but i have to reset and relaunch it every time.
This happened to me once before, but i ended up bringing my computer into the mac store and hey fixed it, but i am wondering if there is a way i can do it without having to bring it and not have my computer for a day.

Apr 21, 2012I updated to Lion on my desktop a few months ago and I swear now I can't read older Microsoft word and Excel documents correctly on this computer using Office 2011. The document opens and you can see all of the data in a preview window (from finder) but once it opens fully the data/words are not there. I have Lion on a brand new Macbook Pro I just purchased and installed the Microsoft Office 2011 and it opened the excel document I was having trouble with fine.I can't find many links for Office for Mac issues.Â

May 2, 2012I recently installed Lion on my iMac 27 with the flashdrive that I purchased from Apple. I've been very leary of doing this, but finally gave in. So far I'm not thrilled. I have a MacBook Pro in another room with OSX 10.5.8 (Snow Leopard) which operates off Wifi. It is too old and under rammed to support Lion. It is used mainly by my wife. The only problem is that the mail does not work on it. I assume it's because of iCloud. iCloud stinks, AFAIC. Is there any way I can run email without iCloud? I don't have ANY other "i" products to sync together. I only have the laptop and the iMac 27. I DON't want iCloud if I don't have to use it. MobileMe was much better!

Jun 15, 2012I'm running OS 10.7.4 on an Intel desktop Mac. I'm using Safari 5.1.7, as well as the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox. I have the most recent version of Java. Pop-up blockers are off. The Java plug-in is enabled. When I try to use a particular web page - specifically, Amazon's - in response to various simple commands I get the error message: javascript:void (false); This happens in all three browsers. Needless to say, the important function on the web page that I'm trying to utilize doesn't work when this error message appears.Â
