OMG. Every word I type in Mail gets autosaved! I have dozens of drafts of the same message saved, one word at a time (or so it feels like).
How do I stop this craziness!? Cannot find the dropdown or setting anywhere.

View 16 Replies View RelatedSo I'm trying to set up Mail.app to forward any messages that have [wmfo] or [wmfo-sublist] in the subject to my friend's email address...
I set up the rule like in the picture, yet it won't work! Am I forgetting to do something? Help!
Friends:
In Mail 7.3 I have:
In preferences>composing
When quoting text in forwards:
Include all of the original message text.
Nevertheless the new message created for me to forward contains none of the original message text.
What could be wrong?
I have a second internal harddrive, which I only rarely use, but it mounts every time I boot. What do I need to do to stop it from auto mounting at boot?
One way is to edit /etc/fstab, but I'm not sure what exactly I have to do.
When I surf the web, I click on interesting links every once and a while, sometimes they end up being files and Safari automatically downloads it, how do I make it ask me before it goes downloading wildly?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf I forward an HTML e-mail manually, it appears the same to the recipient as it does to me, i.e. properly formatted. However, if I forward using a Rule, it appears to get sent as plain text with all the images in the mail as attachments.
why Forwarding should be different when done via a Rule rather than manually? I can't find any settings that may affect this.
How do I get image files to stop auto-saving in Quicktime format?
When I save an image file, it saves in QuickTime format. I don't have PhotoShop. I have preview, or digital camera software. The QuickTime thing is creating problems for me and I don't know how to change it. It seems to keep reverting.
I use Virtual Response, an email software program (terrible, but that's another story) used by PR people. It will only let me upload a logo as jpg, tif, gif. I received one that's .eps... I found online freeware that will convert .eps to .jpg, but it always saves the .jpg as QuickTime format, which the email software refuses to upload.
Whenever I am on facebook or on the internet and I click to donload a file it downloads to my downloads folder but then the second it finished preview pops up with the picture open. How do i stop preview from doing this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I want to add both the name and location of a place for a Calendar event's location (say, the name and address of a restaurant), Calendar and/or its integration with Maps will auto-complete the address. But when it does, it removes the name, and only fills the address.
Almost every time I then try to manually enter the name, it still changes it to address-only when I save it.
Example:
What I want it to look like:
Restaurant Name
123 Address Rd
City, ST 00000
But what it auto-fills:
123 Address Rd
City, ST 00000
United States
How do I get it to stop auto-changing it, and to accept my changes the way I want them?

So when import music or movies to itunes on OSX is plays the media after import.
I've seen it many times around on internet, but it is driving me ABSOLUTELY MAD. After importing audio/video on iTunes (plus copy into iTunesLibrary), the file automatically starts playing. It is annoying me more and more, I can not seem to turn the function off. iTunes seems to be defaulted nowadays to start autoplay after importing music or video into iTunes~?

My computer has recently started auto dimming when in darker rooms of the house, i know its an issue with the light sensor because I've held a flashlight to it and it instantly brightens, however, i have unchecked the "automatically adjust brightness" box in the system settings and it continues to dim it's self even when unchecked and brightness is on full. It isn't the result of any recent updates, as there haven't been any in some time and it's only started in the last two weeks.

I have a client that asks "how do I set Auto-Capitalization on Mac Mail?" What she is refering to is as she types, if she does not manually capitalize a word, she wants the "spell check" to do it for her. I have researched this issue to no avail. Does this feature even exist on mail?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen on my iMac my iTunes app will launch by itself - and after a time will start playing an audio selection, the choice of which depends on what area of iTunes was the last one I was on. Why does iTunes auto-launch? How can I stop it from auto-launching?
BTW, iTunes is the only app that does this. Not sure if this is an iMac or iTunes configuration issue.

If something is marked as Junk in Apple Mail, I have it auto move it to the Junk section of the client. But, If I go there and hit "Not Junk" it doesn't move back to the inbox, and changes so it isnt brown or "junk", but it still sits in the "Junk" section. Is there a way to have it auto move back to the inbox once I have hit "Not Junk"?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes the Mail application have to be running or in the background for the Auto setting to function in getting my email? If so I guess it can't do this function like the iPhone? I am new to the Mac, so sorry if I sound uniformed.

I just bought a new macbook pro a little over a month ago and have since upgraded to Snow Leopard (fresh install). One day about a week ago, out of no where, the mail application seemed to launch itself whenever I opened my laptop (resume from hibernate?). It is asking me for my name and email address to start setting it up. From there, I press cancel and the window disappears but the icon stays on the dock like its open and when I go to the Force Quit window it shows Mail as not responding and I have to force quit it. This doesnt happen every time but happens pretty often for seemingly no reason.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI reinstalled entire mac with all systems included and this problem occurs only after this new installation. The Mail system on mac is now changing the Custom Port from my port 125 to the port 465, which means that whenever I restart Mail no emails wants to go out, because they need port 125. I understand how to change this back to fix the problem but my question is why, when I restart my computer is Mail changing this custom port...?
