I've seen it many times around on internet, but it is driving me ABSOLUTELY MAD. After importing audio/video on iTunes (plus copy into iTunesLibrary), the file automatically starts playing. It is annoying me more and more, I can not seem to turn the function off. iTunes seems to be defaulted nowadays to start autoplay after importing music or video into iTunes~?

I download an mp3 file. One of them is for a class I'm taking that has audio files as part of the course. If I double click in Finder on the file, it begins playing in iTunes and when done, iTunes goes on to play something else. While online is a live class, I did this and iTunes picked up a recording of a discussion I had recorded and played it aloud with my live mic to the entire class.
There are a number of things I hate about iTunes, this is but one. In general I use it without trouble. However, if I construct a playlist, when that list is exhausted it in some fashion known only to iitself and the developers chooses somewhere else to continue. It tends to think of itself as a super large iPod and keeps playing until I manually stop it. Since I have many days of audio in the library, this is not particularly sensible. What is the best way to play a single or small set of mp3 or other audio files and then stop?  iMac with Mavericks 10.9.3
I listen to and watch a lot of podcasts. Quite often, after I am done listening to a Audio Podcast I will watch a video podcast. Some times it gets stuck and won't play the video but plays audio fine. Anyone else have this problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I have some MP3 files on my computer that have not been imported into iTunes and I import them by selecting them and opening them (thereby opening iTunes, copying the files to the Music folder, and adding it to the library), I noticed that the pause button becomes a stop button when it automatically starts playing a track. If I click the stop button, it stops playing the track, and when I click play again, it is not a pause button.

I have vlc on my imac G3 as my primary video player, and i updated from quicktime 6 to 7, and now when i go to play videos in vlc i get audio but no video and a message saying quicktime doesnt have any of the appropriate chroma. i have tried everything: reinstalling VLC, downgradeing back to QT 6 (which it wont for some dumb reason).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm talking about iTunes, YouTube, Facebook videos.. you name it, it isn't working. I can't load any videos or play any music. Nor can I hear any audio on things that were pre-loaded before the problem started. And it just happened out of the blue maybe an hour ago! I've tried reinstalling iTunes, my Shockwave player, my QuickTime player to no avail.
And just to be clear, I did check to see if my speakers were muted or not (they were/are not) and if my audio output's were funky (they don't seem to be). I'm about to restart my computer and see what happens then.Â

When on my iMac my iTunes app will launch by itself - and after a time will start playing an audio selection, the choice of which depends on what area of iTunes was the last one I was on. Why does iTunes auto-launch? How can I stop it from auto-launching?Â
BTW, iTunes is the only app that does this. Not sure if this is an iMac or iTunes configuration issue.

1. There are albums on my iPhone that don't appear in iTunes after sync. I want to delete them.Â

When inserting an audio cd to import into my itunes library the audio cd is labeled only as track 1, track 2, etc. there is no album info, artist name, artwork.

I am a new Mac user, and I bought a mac for the main purpose of video editing. However, all my files are MPEG2, and so far, I have had a very frustrating experience with trying to figure out how to play it back on Quicktime with Audio. I downloaded Pro, as well as the MPEG2 add on. It plays video fine, but can someone please tell me how to get it to play audio step by step?
Lastly, I have Final Cut and iTunes and audio won't play with the video there either. I am assuming once I have it fixed in quicktime, it will work in all other programs too?
Any video i try to play, freezes but plays audio and flashes green on my new mac.

basically, it really annoys me when i use spotify the play/pause controls on my keyboard will work to pause spotify, but will straight away start to play itunes, and vice versa. is there a way to disable this.

I am running Snow Leopard and after installation itunes was working. I noticed this afternoon that double clicking on a song would start the marker moving as if it were playing but there was no audio. I've tried replacing preferences but the problem continues. Ran repair permissions and I got the following message which I don't understand:

When I switch to a TEST user the music plays. When I log back into my user the music progress indicator is moving but there is no audio. Movies play with sound. Tried reinstalling iTunes but that didn't fix the issue. The only other thing I can think of is that I installed Quark 8.1 this afternoon. That could have screwed up the playback but I haven't a clue how that could happen.
Just rented 2 movies on apple tv one worked fine the other will not play audio??

I'm using automator to monitor a folder and, when changed, import the photos into Aperture. It works in that the script kicks in when pictures are added, but it stops at importing one file.Â
It's a simple workflow - I have it ask for confirmation then after I hit "OK" the import function starts. Problem is that it stops after it imports one file. What more information do you need to diagnose?Â

I just recently purchased my first mac (Black Macbook W/ Free Ipod Touch) about 2 weeks ago after growing up using windows and after getting used to a mac life i am loving the switch. I have the mini DVI to VGA adapter so i can hook my mac up to my 40" Samsung LCD and would like to get audio coming through my home theater for movies as well as just listening to music as the laptop speakers just dont cut it. Does air tunes play whatever audio comes from your mac or just specifically your iTunes library?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using iTunes with a Tascam US-122L audio interface. It worked perfectly fine until yesterday evening, and now iTunes absolutely refuses to play any music when the Tascam is connected. I click a song title and the diamond slider does not move, the song stays at 0:00, and the "play" button doesn't change to the "pause" button. It seemed to have started doing this after I exported a song into iTunes from Audio Hijack, which I downloaded to capture some audio from Logic Pro.
I've tried everything, from restarting my computer, to reinstalling the Tascam drivers to reinstalling iTunes.
iTunes works just fine except for the "playing songs" part, which is it's major selling point. It works perfectly fine when the Tascam isn't connected.
I've heard of a lot of people with similar problems but none of the solutions I've seen have worked. Anyone got any ideas?
I thought you should be able to.Play iTunes audio out through USB to a receiver equipt with USB mode as I can with my iPad Air, but I can,t find in preferences on my 2013 iMac any out put and I get no signal to the receiver/amp. Is it possible? What am I doing wrong?

I have a slightly older Macbook Pro, on OSX 10.5.8.I have a bunch of video files on a wireless networked hard drive and the directory mapped to my desktop for easy access.I also have VLC installed for video playback.All the files are *.m4v.
When I click to open one of these files it starts copying the whole file over the network to my iTunes, and insisting on opening from iTunes.If I click on File -> Open With -> it shows iTunes as the default.I can click on File -> Open With -> VLC and this works just fine.But how do I change the default video player?All I want to do is stream it over my internal home network, I don't want copy the darn file every time I want to play something.

iTunes has the Rod Stewart video of the song Ooh La La. I would buy it if I could somehow extract the audio to put in my iTunes library. I don't know why iTunes doesn't sell the audio only version of this song, but I would like the audio only, even if I had to buy the video. Can I separate the video/audio of this for iTunes?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 2011 Mac Mini running the latest version of Mac OS-X and iTunes, output to a Samsung D6530 Television and for some reason I can't seem to play HD movie or TV show content purchased through iTunes. 99% of the time I don't get any error message at all, just a scrambled signa (sound is fine)l however, the one time an error message did appear it suggested the TV did not support HDCP (High Def Content Protection). Looking at the documentation that came with the TV it does support HDCP so I can't figure out why it doesn't work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just finished exporting a movie from FCPX as a .mov. From there, I shared it with iTunes. I've tried sharing it with iTunes 3 times and each time when it finishes, the movie won't play. It's just a black screen with no audio. The timeline moves but no video. I've done this many times before and all of my other videos play fine. This video is about an hour and a half and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. All of my other videos I've shared with iTunes, that play fine, are shorter. The longest is 25 minutes.

I installed Window Vista using boot camp. I then also but the mac cd in to download the drivers for windows.
My Problem is that while trying to view a video on the internet, such as a video from youtube, after a few seconds my explorer (or firefox) will crash (yes i have tried both). Also My Itunes with start to sound bad when I do anything else on my computer other than just listen to music and sometimes itunes will just stop in the middle of a song but say its still playing. Plus when i am trying to listen to something online the sound will go in and out.
Simple question I have downloaded a few seasons of Southpark and other tv shows in hd how do I burn them to a dvd or get them to be able to play on my ps3. I have vista home premium 64 bit and can't get it to stream through tversity. I do not want to buy an appletv I just want my shows to play on my tv in hd and not have to hook up my ipod. Is there a way around the drm or whatever is stopping me to get the job done.
