When quoting text in forwards:
Include all of the original message text.
Nevertheless the new message created for me to forward contains none of the original message text.
What could be wrong?
I have a question about Mail. Whenever I try to forward an email, it forwards the text, but not the graphics! I am using Mail, Version 4.2 (1077). I've gone through the preferences, and cannot find a fix for this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDespite checking the box "place signature above quoted text" in Mail preferences signatures, my signature continues to appear at the bottom of the reply. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I keep hoping a software update will fix this problem. Do I need to trash my preferences or trash all of my signatures and start over. OS 10.9.3

I set up the rule like in the picture, yet it won't work! Am I forgetting to do something? Help!
If I forward an HTML e-mail manually, it appears the same to the recipient as it does to me, i.e. properly formatted. However, if I forward using a Rule, it appears to get sent as plain text with all the images in the mail as attachments.
why Forwarding should be different when done via a Rule rather than manually? I can't find any settings that may affect this.
Is there a way to increase the size of the displayed mail, as you are creating it? I have mine set to 12 point text, but it is still difficult to read. The e-mail when received is fine, it's the creating that's "tiny"?

I am looking to reset my Mac to Factory Settings, as if it's new, but I would like to reinstall Sibelius once it has been reset. The problem is, I don't have the original discs, my friend has them. Am I able to reinstall Sibelius from a back up without the original discs, or should I wait until I can use the discs again?

My sales team have an email they wish to send out to loads of people throughout the day. Is there a way to 'store' the original in Mail so they can then just fill in the addressee and hit send?
At the moment they are having to keep going into the sent items box to get the email back as once an email has been sent from 'drafts' box it moves to sent box.
To be able to send from the 'sent' box they need to 'forward' the email but this adds a quote level everytime. So they then have to manually delete the quote level.
I am trying to attach assignments for school onto my calendar on my mac. It seems like the attachment is saved to a separate folder, so if I edit it, it will not change the original file. Is there a way to make the calder attachment the same as the original file?

I have a download folder on my dock and also on my desktop. When I click it open there is nothing there. However, when I go over to the left hand sidebar of Finder and I click on the Downloads (down arrow) label it brings up all my downloads. I used to have a spring loaded icon on my dock ... now its just empty unless I press the Downloads (down arrow) label in Finder. How can I restore the original download folder that was spring loaded on my dock?

I've looked at some other posts that have gone over how to move files to an external drive, and they all say to use command while moving. I understand this copies the file and deletes the original, but when you make a copy and delete the original, you lose some of the original data, such as creation date, etc... This makes storage and organization more complicated than it has to be.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI cannot make the text substitution feature to work. Specifically, the only substitution that is being done, is the one for "On my way!" which was there by default. Anything else I add is simply ignored. This happens in all applications (TextEdit, Mail, etc). Yes, I have made sure that all the right boxes have been ticked, etc.

If I add an event to iCal such as "Tomorrow 9am Breakfast meeting with George", the event will automatically show up in my calendar assigned to tomorrow 9am. I don't have to go into the event window and enter the time and date.
But I cannot figure out how to enter the text for an all-day event. I have to manually go into the event, click on the time, then select "all-day" and hit enter.
Any way to do this by simply typing some version of "all-day" into the event text?

I’m trying to use OS X Mavericks to dictate a note to my laptop. I clicked System Preferences from the Apple icon, then Accessibility button and then Speakable Items. After that I clicked Settings, but I don’t know how to TURN ON Speakable Items, which I see selected. I went on to press Listening Key on the Feedback window and said, “Hello, what’s happening?” I didn’t see it as typed text anywhere, as I expected to. I also selected “Open Speech Commands.” Again nothing happened!

I'm trying to use wget -i <filename> in Terminal, but every time I run it, the txt file (saved as UTF-8) has all the lines run together with %0D. I don't even know where to start to troubleshoot. Thoughts?
