I tried installing my fujistu printer through IP address, which was successful. I tied printing the first time through textedit and it worked perfectly. Now when I try printing again through either textedt or another program all I get is this message: "Network host 'XXX.XXX.X.XXX' is busy; will retry in 5 seconds". The amount of time keeps increasing.

I have been given an iMac g3 with osx 10.4.11 installed and airport card. My son will have this as his first computer. It is up and running and surfing the net using the airport connected to our home network. I have searched the forums and tried all the results I could find but am still unable to print from the iMac to my network printer.
iMac G3 10.4.11 osx slot loaded, airport wireless. Officejet all in one 6310 usb to pc running Vista. I have tried all the usual SAMBA and LPD methods listed going for generic printer, but get error 256 using printer utility, and NT_status_no_memory when using samba with all the settings, when trying LPD the printer service just stops.
I use LPD://user:password@workgroup/server/sharename and same for smb. I have set up a seperate account for the mac on the vista pc with password and started lpd service I've also edited the registry for lmcompatibility, printer sharing is enabled and both machines have the same workgroup name (WORKGROUP).
I have just purchased a Macbook Air and would like to use it with my Fujitsu fi6110 scanner. Fujitsu does not have a driver for this scanner so I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. Fujitsu suggested asking Apple or trying ScanTango. They have a program that is compatible with the scanner for $99 but it is not as good (to me) as Adobe scan program on my PC.

When i try to run a .wmv file which would normally play on quicktime with using flip4mac it will no longer work, it just brings up a prompt box saying "quick time player must be installed to play file" which quick time is installed so wtf here? alos when ever i try to print to my hp printer now it brings up an error msg saying that it needs to send the report to apple or what ever because something quit unexpected or what ever it says. I have never had these problems before SL instal so what gives?

Sometimes the printer then appears and other times it doesn't. Message then appears: If your device is not listed it is not supported by this installer. Downloaded installer again from HP but still no good. Printer is wireless but was given USB cable to connect to Macbook Pro as don't have internet at home and was told it would be no problem. Message now appearing saying if USB port on printer is at front (mine is) do not connect to USB on Macbook. However, it doesn't bother to tell me how to connect it any other way. Nothing in manual. Running out of patience. Just starting working for myself and have clients waiting for designs which I can't even print off.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have moved an Early 2008 iMac with an Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 GHz processor and OS X version 10.9.3 to a summer home where I have an HP psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one Printer. I have attempted to load the driver for this printer using System Preferences/ Printers and faxes. When I select the + I find my psc 2400 printer listed when I select add I get the message: Some of the software for the printer is missing. You may have to reinstall the software to be able to successfully print. There is the option to continue. Selecting this button I get the message: The software for the printer was installed incorrectly. Please reinstall the software from the manufacturer. This printer was purchased when I had a Mac with a power PC chip and OS X version 10.4.1 which can not be loaded into the current computer. Is there a way to load the driver software that seems to be missing?

I just purchased a Canon MG5220. I have installed all of the updated drivers for 10.7.3. The scanner is working wirelessly, but I can't add my printer.

For whatever reason, when I installed Snow Leopard it did not automatically install the updates for the printer drivers already installed in my computer.
I then tried to manually install the printer drivers using the SL disk and still no luck. The printers that I use are both wireless and work when they are connected with USB. Am I missing something? I'm reading all over about how people have made the upgrade with no problems at all so I'm there's got to be something I'm not doing.
I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro 13" running Lion. I installed the recommended 2.7 EFI update (which was advised by the system update utility) and after the reboot, I could not access any network resources (couldn't ping the router). The information provided showed that I was connected to the WIFI AP and had a good IP Address (provided via DHCP). I connected an ethernet cable and got a new IP address in both cases, I was unable to ping the gateway IP address.
I tried clearing the PRAM and NVRAM but no success. I booted into the restore console and the wifi access there showed my Time Machine backup (connected to my Airport Extreme). I was confused by this as when fully booted, it wouldn't show anything on the network, but in the restore mode it could. I have begun the process of restoring from the previous backup which will take a few hours.

Whenever I turn it on it says "none of your trusted networks can be found. would you like to join the network named default?" default being the name of the network in our house. none of my other computers do this, they all join automatically. how can I fix this?

My son gave me a working (on a pc) HP 2600n Color Laser Printer. I know it works, printed a test page from the menu.
But when I try to install the software, the printer doesn't show up in the add printer dialogue box. I'm connected via ethernet to my LinkSys 5 port Switch. Is that OK?
Is there some trick to making this work? I also looked for this specific printer in the find printer dialogue and Apple doesn't even list it. I'm using Snow Leopard... shouldn't the OS have just about every driver known to man?
Is this printer going to have a name or an IP address and if its the latter how do I determine the IP address of the printer? But it still baffles me that the mac install software on the CD doesn't do all this automatically.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can not seem to sync my mac or enable "back to my mac" because I am being told that "I may have more than one device on my network providing Network Address Translation. Well, this is news to me. I have a Time capsule running my network and an Airport Express with Airtunes dvice and they have been hooked up for more than two years. I have been abloe to sync my network up until recently and I do not recall making any changes to any network configurations so I am clueless as to why things suddenly stopped working in this regard.
THe error message tells me to disable Network Address Translation on one of the devices but does not tell me how to do that. Nor can I find any information related to Network Address Translation on the help database.
Does anyone out there know how to do this?
When I try to connect to a wireless network. It says there is no IP address? I know nothing about computers. The mac shoppe told me I needed to erase everything and re-install my software. I did this, and it still doesn't work. I'm very frustrated because I lost everything when I did this!
When I connect directly to the modem, it works fine.
I have two laptops on the same network. When one of them is on, the other cannot get on because of this IP conflict, and vice versa. How do I change one of the IP addresses so I can get both laptops on the network at the same time? I'm looking to transfer music between two laptops and because they both can't connect to the network at the same time (Mac and PC), I can't transfer the files.

HOWEVER, i installed windows updates, restarted, and now it's just not working again!
it says that there is not a valid ip address... my macs get on fine...
