Intel Mac :: Delete An Installed Printer Driver On It?
May 3, 2012
I have installed a new printer through on my imac (10.6) and it does not work. how can I delete this installed printer driver (without affecting anything else)?
The instructions for uninstalling the Hewlett Packard CP1518ni driver (CP1510 series) speak of an uninstaller in my applications folder (Mac OS 10.5), but there isn't any. I have installed the driver twice and in neither case was an uninstaller installed per the log. How do I completely uninstall the driver (short of looking at the log and manually removing all the bits)?
My Intel based Mac Desktop ceased communicating with my wireless printer. All hardware is plugged in, on and hooked up with router and modem correctly. I have the latest version of OS X Lion 10.7.4. I uninstalled the Lexmark printer driver and re downloaded the driver under Apple downloads. I used the wizard to successfully initialize it. When I look under system preferences/hardware/print & scan it says no printers available. What else do I need to do to add the printer?
I had a Dell 1100 laser printer working on my iMac (G4 ball type) using a GIMP printer. I had to reset the queue and lost the driver. I can't remember which GIMP driver I used. Also, although I have loaded the latest GIMP s/w, I can't seem to get to them in Tiger 10.4.6.
I deleted all the Wacom Tablet files but noticed while using activity monitor that the Wacom Tablet driver is still operating permanently and using RAM. How do I delete the driver?

I would like to use a perfectly good Canon Pixma ip4200 printer with OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and  Yosemite 10.10.1 on my 2013 model iMac but Canon say they do not do a driver for these more recent versions of OSX later than 10.7. Is there any way to get this to work?
I was having problems printing from my Canon LBP6000. Print jobs remained held in the queue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac CAPT Ve r340 driver from Canon's website, no improvement. The printer works fine with my Windows laptop. I found an option to remove all printers from the Print preferences section. I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed. I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options. And no idea how to get printer options.
I have just installed OS X 10.6.8 Now my printer (HP psc 2410 Photosmart won't work. I went to HP site to get a new driver, but they have none for this OS. Now what do I do?
Info: iMac (20-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I just installed MAC OS LION after snow leopard and now I can't get the iMAC to communicate with my canon printer. I installed the canon drivers again but still no go.
I have moved an Early 2008 iMac with an Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 GHz processor and OS X version 10.9.3 to a summer home where I have an HP psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one Printer. I have attempted to load the driver for this printer using System Preferences/ Printers and faxes. When I select the + I find my psc 2400 printer listed when I select add I get the message: Some of the software for the printer is missing. You may have to reinstall the software to be able to successfully print. There is the option to continue. Selecting this button I get the message: The software for the printer was installed incorrectly. Please reinstall the software from the manufacturer. This printer was purchased when I had a Mac with a power PC chip and OS X version 10.4.1 which can not be loaded into the current computer. Is there a way to load the driver software that seems to be missing?
I have this "unknown" audio driver installed on my mac called "Aggregate-Audio-Device"... not sure what that is... and where it came from... anyone know what that is, and how I can uninstall it?
First, I'm a noob on MACs so forgive the nooby nature of the question.
I'm setting up a printer on a Macbook to use a printer shared from Windows 7. Followed the tutorials I found for the network side of things and that seems to be fine (Mac send unprintable files to the Windows print queue).
The problem is the print driver on the Mac. The printer is a HP PSC 1315. It's not on the list when you Select Drivers during printer setup and even after loading the HP 111 updated, still no joy.
I downloaded the 1315-specific driver package and ran the installation but I have no idea how to find the driver to use during printer setup.
I just downloaded and installed the new Canon drivers from their website that are supposed to support Scanner/Printer functions for my MX870 with Yosemite, but when I go to Settings for Printer/Scanner and try to add the printer from the wireless network, the computer does not detect it.
Info: iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
Installed Lion via the app store, now both of my eSATA drives are not mounting and the system proflier states that there is no IDE Controller Driver installed.
Where can I get the printer driver for the samsung ml-1710 printer?! It doesn't seem to be on the samsung page. Also... will it work on a new intel mac? If not, what are my options here?
Just one small hiccup with my lovely new machine - my samsung ML-1510 mono laser printer has no intel mac driver available and I can't print, i've searched all-over but to no avail.
I recently accidently deleted an old printer, Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX Ink Jet Printer, in Mac OS X 10.5.8 on an old MacBook Pro (2008; 15"). I cannot figure out how to readd it manually without having the physical printer connected through its USB cable. Do I really need to have it connected to do this? I rarely use it and do not have access to it at the moment.
Info: MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), 2.4 Ghz; A1260 model; 15" size.
In the office where I work with my Mac there's a Canon copier/scanner model iR2318. Months ago I downloaded and installed the Lion compatible drivers required that worked fine. Yesterday (with no reason, no changes, nothing at all: just working) the printer started to refuse to print as it asked for a different paper format: A4 or Letter. Despite many attempts to specifically send print jobs in A4, which is the paper format loaded in the tray, the printer continued to refuse all prints.Today I ended up removing the printer from the list, as it became unnecessary, and I also liked to uninstall the printer driver as well, since Canon released a newer version.Currently, when trying to reinstall the printer, 2 drivers are displayed: UK and US. This lets me assume that those 2 drivers are still installed in my system: I wanted to remove both of them and start from scratch by reinstall the driver and he printer as the system was new. How can I remove the driver, so that Lion won't recognize it and that I could make a clean install of the previous working printer?
Just out of the blue, I can't print using my epson 600, a multi use printer that I have set up on my network.
The strange thing is my scaning driver is there and working, but my wireless printer is not there. I can see my Epson Printer, but its not the wireless driver, its the older driver for using the cable.
That's the message I got when adding a new printer driver. The reference was system/library/extension/cnqe202-classicnotseize.kext. Or close to that. I think I got that message also when upgrading to 10.6.1. As I recall there was also a note about updating this extension but no info on how to do it. Searching for .kext brought up a long list from last August having to do with crash reports with skype, real player, fire fox and a couple more; but nothing permanent and everything is working fine. Anyone have any thoughts about this? I'm using an iMac, 20".
I need to install the Canon MP520 printer to my MBP. The printer is connected to another a PC running windows and is shared. I installed the OSX driver provided on the Canon page, I can see the printer in the network printers but when I am asked to choose the driver I can't see the correct model listed. On the other hand, if I simply connect the same printer via USB, to my MBP it is recognized directly. When I'm asked to provide the driver while adding the printer via the network, there is also the option to browse to the driver location. So my question is, where are the can I find the right driver on the OS?
I've just bought a Macbook and I've been trying to find drivers for my Lexmark X5150 all-in-one printer. I thought it was meant to be simple in leopard but my printer doesn't seem to be supported by default, like most printers are, so I looked on the Lexmark site but they only supply drivers up to Tiger, nothing for Leopard. Does anybody know if a driver exists for this printer and where I can find it, and if not, if there are any drivers that will work? I am not too worried about the all-in-one functionality, I just want to be able to print at least.
I've just loaded mac OSX 10.5.1 onto my Powerbook G4, and I've lost my Epson Stylus Colour 860 printer driver?
I've gone into the Print & Fax Pref's to add a printer, but there are no printers listed? I've also looked on the Epson printer drivers to download and there doesn't seem to be any to support any OS later than 9?
