Applications :: ITunes Store Sign In (Error - 9813)
Dec 26, 2009
when i attempt to sign in to iTunes, or create a new account (current ver (9.0.2) i get the following error message. We could not complete your iTunes Store request. A unknown error occurred (-9813). There was an error in the iTunes store, please try again later. I can sign in via my iPod over the same wifi connection and via my brother-in-law's Powerbook, why is my MBP refusing to sign in?
I've searched high and low for the error code -9813 and can find no documentation anywhere. It has been doing this since yesterday and the error fires as soon as it attempts to connect to the server however the store content (pre-login) all loads fine i.e. adverts etc within iTunes.
I'm on a G4 laptop, running 10.3.8 and iTunes 4.7.1 I'm connected through a Motorola SURFboard SB5100 with cable, no router beyond that My problem popped up approx. 4-5 weeks ago. I'm not sure exactly when, or what I did to cause it. But I think I updated to 10.3.8 from 10.3.7 around that time.
Whenever, I click "Buy Song" or "Sign-In" in iTunes, i get this error:
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. An unknown error occurred (-9813)"
WHAT MY COMPUTER IS/IS NOT DOING:....................
Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this error in iTunes today. The error -9813 appears when trying to access the account page. I've done some searching and found various reasons/solutions. I don't want to make any major changes to my system if it turns out to be a temporary glitch that others are also encountering too.
Have just upgraded my macbook to Lion. I logged into the app store, bought, downloaded and installed Lion no problem.
After upgrade I returned to the app store to download ibooks author. I can find ibooks author but when I try and install the app I have to sign in and I get a "connection failed" error message.
The same happens in iTunes when I try and view my account - "The network connection failed"Â
I can access the internet with no problems - including secure sites. I can access software update with no problems.Â
I have made no changes to my network settings - could sign in and download apps before upgrade, unable to after upgrade.
While i update iPhoto to new version 9.2.3, the App Store always appears that, To update this application, signin to the account you used to purchase it.
Over the last couple of months, I sometimes get an error when using the iTunes Store: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." It seems happen at random. I click to download an app and I get the message. I click again and it works. Sometimes I'm browsing the store and everything's fine, then I start getting the message over and over for a while.
I tried rebuilding my home network, updating airport software, everything I could think of on my end. Is this a problem on Apple's servers? Do a lot of other people have this problem? I haven't had much luck finding answers on this site or searching Google. I use an Airport Extreme, I have Time Warner Cable internet. I have no other internet connection issues.
Every time i try to download an app. to my Touch, log in, or even try to create a new account, i keep getting the same error: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error has occured (-9809)" Has anybody else had this error?
Every time I open iTunes on my Mac a message comes up asking me if I want to sign in to the iTunes Store. 99.9% of the time I don't but when I delete the message, it reappears every ten seconds or so. I can't see any way of stopping the message from appearing.
Whenever I am trying to sign in Mac App Store, a message saying "connection failed" will show up. I have no problem signing in itunes with my Apple ID, so I know my details are correct. Internet connection works just fine over ethernet, with firewall turned off and there's no other third party app (little snitch) or antivirus program which may restrict the network access from Mac App Store. I restored the OS from internet few days back because of a kernel error. Now I need to sign in Mac App Store to download my iLife applications.
After migrating my old iMac to my new one, every time I start iTunes, I get the following message: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred (4002).
I have OS 10.7.4 running on a Intel mac tower, I have an Apple account (that works fine for the iTune store, on my iPad), but when I click on the either of the links; Sign In, or Account in the App Store app on my mac nothing happens? I have also tried the same options in the menus but with the same result? .
Info: Apple Store app on the mac., Mac OS X (10.7.4)
why can i not sign into the app store. i can sign into support discussions, but when i try to sign into the app store i never get a text field to enter my user name and password
It appears that I'm unable to sign-in to the App Store. The place is well found under the apple sign and in the dashboard and both respond well to all demands except for the 'sign-in'. None of my other 5 Apple computers render this problem.  The actual computer is a MacPro4,1, Quad-Core Intel xeon, 16 Gb Memory and Boot ROM version MP41.0081.808. All software inclusive OS X 10.7.3 811D50d) is actual and up to date.Â
Info: iMac24, iMac20, MacPro, Mac OS X (10.7), + some old PCs
I cannot sign in to app store with correct ID and password. I am hundred percent sure that they're correct. I've tried like srsly more than 20 times but it's not working. There is no problem with internet connection.
I have the app store icon in my dock indicating that an app has an update. I click the app in the the update section and another window appears telling me I have updates for other accounts and that I need to sign into that accound to update applications for that account. The email address for that account is unknown to me. I am not aware of anyone having hacked my account, but it is in the back of my mind naturally that this has occurred. I have changed password on my account so far. I cannot delete the update from the app store even though I have deleted the iphone app from my itunes list.
I reported the problem to Apple Support via email. but their responses were unhelpful and had no new information. The suggestion for a fee based call to Apple technical support is insulting. Why would I pay for a call to fix a problem in your portal to sell me software? Also, it is in Apple's best interest to address this; as it stands I can not upgrade to OSX Lion because it is only delivered via the App Store! Am I to throw my Mac Pro out of the window? Is this how Apple provides support to their loyal customers? How long are Apple products supported these days? When I started to use Macs (1991), they had a great reputation, because everything was backward compatible.
The life cycle of Macs has become very short indeed for a very expensive product. After 21 years I may switch to PC (can't believe I am writing this). IF I can not get a Mac that can run processor and graphics intensive tasks anymore, then I have really no choice. I am not buying a two year old Mac Pro at exorbitant prices to run Autodesk Maya (for complex and very high res rendering) when I can run the software on a PC faster and at less than half the cost.Is Apple really abandoning the professional in favor of becoming a consumer electronics company?
Trying to re-install Twitter from the Mac App Store. When I click "install" I get a prompt to type in my Apple ID (pre-filled with jonas.clement@hotmail.com; NOT ME). When I type my correct Apple ID and password in I get an "Error -4" message followed by "Unknown Error" message. Â
I have NO clue who jonas.clement@hotmail.com is. My account has not been hacked (at least no unauthorized purchases have been made). Â When I view my previously purchased apps, I see the whole list, Twitter, included...but I can't seem to download it. Â
Here's what I'm running:Â
Mac OS X 10.6.8 App Store 1.0.2 (63.1)Â Â
Here's what I've tried. Signing out of the App Store and signing back in.Signing out of the App Store and not signing back in until I try to download the App. Signing out of iTunes (trying everything). Restarting. What else is causing these errors?Â
