View 1 RepliesWhen I open the App store I cannot sign on !! When clicking on the sign on option nothing happens!
View 1 RepliesHave just upgraded my macbook to Lion. I logged into the app store, bought, downloaded and installed Lion no problem.
After upgrade I returned to the app store to download ibooks author. I can find ibooks author but when I try and install the app I have to sign in and I get a "connection failed" error message.
The same happens in iTunes when I try and view my account - "The network connection failed"Â
I can access the internet with no problems - including secure sites. I can access software update with no problems.Â
I have made no changes to my network settings - could sign in and download apps before upgrade, unable to after upgrade.

It appears that I'm unable to sign-in to the App Store. The place is well found under the apple sign and in the dashboard and both respond well to all demands except for the 'sign-in'. None of my other 5 Apple computers render this problem.  The actual computer is a MacPro4,1, Quad-Core Intel xeon, 16 Gb Memory and Boot ROM version MP41.0081.808. All software inclusive OS X 10.7.3 811D50d) is actual and up to date.Â

I have also tried the same options in the menus but with the same result? .

I have the app store icon in my dock indicating that an app has an update. I click the app in the the update section and another window appears telling me I have updates for other accounts and that I need to sign into that accound to update applications for that account. The email address for that account is unknown to me. I am not aware of anyone having hacked my account, but it is in the back of my mind naturally that this has occurred. I have changed password on my account so far. I cannot delete the update from the app store even though I have deleted the iphone app from my itunes list.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open iTunes on my Mac a message comes up asking me if I want to sign in to the iTunes Store. 99.9% of the time I don't but when I delete the message, it reappears every ten seconds or so. I can't see any way of stopping the message from appearing.

Whenever I am trying to sign in Mac App Store, a message saying "connection failed" will show up. I have no problem signing in itunes with my Apple ID, so I know my details are correct. Internet connection works just fine over ethernet, with firewall turned off and there's no other third party app (little snitch) or antivirus program which may restrict the network access from Mac App Store. I restored the OS from internet few days back because of a kernel error. Now I need to sign in Mac App Store to download my iLife applications.

when i attempt to sign in to iTunes, or create a new account (current ver (9.0.2) i get the following error message. We could not complete your iTunes Store request. A unknown error occurred (-9813). There was an error in the iTunes store, please try again later. I can sign in via my iPod over the same wifi connection and via my brother-in-law's Powerbook, why is my MBP refusing to sign in?
I've searched high and low for the error code -9813 and can find no documentation anywhere. It has been doing this since yesterday and the error fires as soon as it attempts to connect to the server however the store content (pre-login) all loads fine i.e. adverts etc within iTunes.
I reported the problem to Apple Support via email. but their responses were unhelpful and had no new information. The suggestion for a fee based call to Apple technical support is insulting. Why would I pay for a call to fix a problem in your portal to sell me software? Also, it is in Apple's best interest to address this; as it stands I can not upgrade to OSX Lion because it is only delivered via the App Store! Am I to throw my Mac Pro out of the window? Is this how Apple provides support to their loyal customers? How long are Apple products supported these days? When I started to use Macs (1991), they had a great reputation, because everything was backward compatible.
The life cycle of Macs has become very short indeed for a very expensive product. After 21 years I may switch to PC (can't believe I am writing this). IF I can not get a Mac that can run processor and graphics intensive tasks anymore, then I have really no choice. I am not buying a two year old Mac Pro at exorbitant prices to run Autodesk Maya (for complex and very high res rendering) when I can run the software on a PC faster and at less than half the cost.Is Apple really abandoning the professional in favor of becoming a consumer electronics company?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to update Aperture, but when I go to the App Store it tells me "All apps are up to date". Â I'm running an iMac, OS 10.6.8, current Aperture version 3.1.3 (latest version stated on App Store as 3.2.3).Â
I've tried downloading the update manually, but the updater doesn't work and tells me my version of the app must be updated through the App Store. (This is especially annoying because I transferred my Aperture Library to a MacBook which has a newer version of Aperture installed and it reformatted my library to a newer version. Now I've copied the library back to the MacBook but Aperture won't open the library because it's a requires the newer version of Aperture!)
