Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this error in iTunes today. The error -9813 appears when trying to access the account page. I've done some searching and found various reasons/solutions. I don't want to make any major changes to my system if it turns out to be a temporary glitch that others are also encountering too.
View 6 RepliesI'm on a G4 laptop, running 10.3.8 and iTunes 4.7.1 I'm connected through a Motorola SURFboard SB5100 with cable, no router beyond that My problem popped up approx. 4-5 weeks ago. I'm not sure exactly when, or what I did to cause it. But I think I updated to 10.3.8 from 10.3.7 around that time.
Whenever, I click "Buy Song" or "Sign-In" in iTunes, i get this error:
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store.
An unknown error occurred (-9813)"

when i attempt to sign in to iTunes, or create a new account (current ver (9.0.2) i get the following error message. We could not complete your iTunes Store request. A unknown error occurred (-9813). There was an error in the iTunes store, please try again later. I can sign in via my iPod over the same wifi connection and via my brother-in-law's Powerbook, why is my MBP refusing to sign in?
I've searched high and low for the error code -9813 and can find no documentation anywhere. It has been doing this since yesterday and the error fires as soon as it attempts to connect to the server however the store content (pre-login) all loads fine i.e. adverts etc within iTunes.
I can't access my old i Tunes account and so I can't open old songs bought in the past I have a new account now with different id and password an dI dont have access to the old mail account?

A few months ago I was persuaded to set-up a "Linkedin" account which I did. To begin with it seemed to be working fine and I steadly started to build up my profile.
But in the past month, whenever I log in, the site just hangs. I either get a blank white page or the browser just never finishes downloading the page.
I've tried Safari 3, Safari 4 Beta, Firefox, Camino and Opera web browsers. I've also fired up Parallels desktop and tried accessing the site through Internet Explorer 7 and the PC versions of Chrome and Firefox. Again, I can't get beyond my Linkedin homepage before the site freezes on me.
I've tried accessing the site on my new iMac, and eMac and iBook on the same network.
I'm using an Airport Extreme base station (UFO type) which is configured to use Open DNS.
I do not have this problem with any other websites and I've done all the basic stuff like deleting cookies, resetting Safari, fixing disk permissions etc. to no avail. Other people I've spoken to (other Mac users) don't seem to have the same problem I do.
Under normal circumstance I would have contacted Linkedin to request technical support, but alas, the contact page wont load!
Is there anyway to access my iTunes account from my IPad? I want to be able to sync my notes between my iPhone and iPad. Isn't there a way to do this without hooking up my ipad2 to my computer?

About 50% of the time I can't get to the google search page and get the error message Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't connect to the server. When I am able to get into gmail, I am constantly being disconnected from gchat, like every 5 minutes. When it disconnects, it will try to reconnect, most of the time unsuccessfully. I then get the error message, unable to reach gmail please check your internet connection. This happens no matter what browser I use. However, when I try to connect from my husband's PC (same network), everything is fine. I've tried emptying my safari cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing both safari and firefox, and I am out of ideas. Any ideas about what is going on, and how I might fix this issue. I searched through the google help, and there were similar problems posted (none recently), but no answers on how to solve the issue. This has been going on for about a week now, and it's driving me up a wall.

I thought it was all sorted out, but then started getting an error message when I try to rip CDs in iTunes: You don't have write access for your iTunes Media folder or a folder within it. To change I tried Get Info & have RW permission, so I don't know what to do about that. Other than ripping CDs, iTunes seemed to be working fine however after a week of the above problem, it has developed something new that may be related. I can no longer use Get Info within iTunes to correct or add to entries about the albums like composer, tracks, disk, etc Perhaps that is another RW permission issue.

I am able to connect to the iTunes store itself and look around and preview songs. but I can't log in to my account. I have the latest version of iTunes, and I haven't altered any settings in iTunes, so I'm confused as to why I am receiving this error message. Â
The other discussions and trouble shooting pages referencing the error (-54) seem to all talk about ipod sync issues or not being able to access the store in general.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI can't allow Twitter access on the newest Adium beta. I click "Allow Adium Access," it opens a browser window with a sign in page, I sign in and I get a PIN. I then go back and say "I've allowed Adium access" and it gives me the error message: "An error occured while trying to gain access. Please try again." I deleted the adiumx plist, Adium 2.0 folder, Adium itself, etc. I'm on an MBP with 10.5.7, but still doesn't work!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought this new MacBook Pro a month ago. When I try logging into my guest account, it froze. I had no other alternative but to get out of it by pressing the power button. Then I tried open a new user account to see if it also has the same problem. Unfortunately it did have the same problem - froze after I logged in. I had done a harddisk check, there seemed to be no problem.

I guess this is a bit trivial, but I want to change the display at the bottom of my iTunes screen. The part that tells you how many albums you have, the total playing time, and size. Currently, this is displayed with the European system of using commas instead of points as the decimal separators. I may be crazy, but I'm pretty sure it used to have points and then a few days ago, it switched on me. I noticed it after I installed an update. Is there a way of changing it back?

My problem is that on the second page, I would like the document to continue on without any table. I would like for the text to flow from the table into regular margin document on the second page. Is there a way to do this?
I am a new mac user (total convert--am on my second iMac in a month and am about to buy a macbook), and am having trouble with my itunes service. My first 24" iMac developed a clicking HDD, so I was lucky enough to be able to bring it back to the shop for a replacement iMac. I made a time machine backup of the first Mac and copied directly to the second one (which was flawless....how come I haven't been using macs prior to now? I've lost dozens of backups on PC). The only issue I've had is with iTunes--I keep getting an error that the iTunes library is newer than the version of iTunes on the computer. Is there anyway to fix this without losing my entire library of songs? I did make up a physical copy of the iTunes folder on my first Mac, just in case, so I assume that I could delete iTunes and reinstall a fresh copy, update it, and then copy the iTunes folder over to the new version. But this is a Windows approach to the issue and there is probably a simpler way of fixing this. Alternately, I could do the same but sync my iPod and copy everything to my library that way.

When I load the page with text edit, I get some crazy Apple page, so I don't seem to be able to edit the HTML directly. I'm selling my trusty G4 Powerbook and have a quick question about keychains. I erased my entire drive & reloaded all software. I had to log into my airport express to finish the installation and make sure all my software was as current as could be for the new owner. Somehow my keychain got populated with my password for the airport express and would like to know if I delete it from the keychain access page - is this securly deleted or could the new owner retrive it if he wantd to?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 3 daughters sharing an eMac running 10.5.8 and one of my daughters accounts no longer is viewable from the login page that has my admin login and other daughters logins.
Under the finder>Macintosh HD>Users I see her folder.
Under Apple>Sys Prefs>Accounts I do NOT see her as an account.
If I try and create the account using the same name it tells me that a folder in the users folder has the same name and would I like to use that folder as the home folder for that account. I have chosen OK but the account is still not visable under SysPrefs or the login page.
I am sure there is a simple box to check some where but can't find it, does someone have a cure?
I have two iCloud email accounts and hoping that when in iCloud I can see both accounts at the same time (like I can in Apple and Outlook Mail). Is this possible? A Real pain to have to constantly logout of one account and login to the other to check mail on my MacBook Pro

I have an iTunes folder in my public folder which is accessed by both accounts. My wife has subscribed to some podcasts which have been placed in the folder and are visible to her account, and download onto her iphone. When I subscribe to a podcast on my account it attempts to download and then states: 'You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.' I have amended the access privileges for the folder to shared and read / write for both accounts.
