I have OS 10.7.4 running on a Intel mac tower, I have an Apple account (that works fine for the iTune store, on my iPad), but when I click on the either of the links; Sign In, or Account in the App Store app on my mac nothing happens? I have also tried the same options in the menus but with the same result? .
Info:
Apple Store app on the mac., Mac OS X (10.7.4)
Have just upgraded my macbook to Lion. I logged into the app store, bought, downloaded and installed Lion no problem.
After upgrade I returned to the app store to download ibooks author. I can find ibooks author but when I try and install the app I have to sign in and I get a "connection failed" error message.
The same happens in iTunes when I try and view my account - "The network connection failed"Â
I can access the internet with no problems - including secure sites. I can access software update with no problems.Â
I have made no changes to my network settings - could sign in and download apps before upgrade, unable to after upgrade.
why can i not sign into the app store. i can sign into support discussions, but when i try to sign into the app store i never get a text field to enter my user name and password
It appears that I'm unable to sign-in to the App Store. The place is well found under the apple sign and in the dashboard and both respond well to all demands except for the 'sign-in'. None of my other 5 Apple computers render this problem.  The actual computer is a MacPro4,1, Quad-Core Intel xeon, 16 Gb Memory and Boot ROM version MP41.0081.808. All software inclusive OS X 10.7.3 811D50d) is actual and up to date.Â
Info: iMac24, iMac20, MacPro, Mac OS X (10.7), + some old PCs
I cannot sign in to app store with correct ID and password. I am hundred percent sure that they're correct. I've tried like srsly more than 20 times but it's not working. There is no problem with internet connection.
I have the app store icon in my dock indicating that an app has an update. I click the app in the the update section and another window appears telling me I have updates for other accounts and that I need to sign into that accound to update applications for that account. The email address for that account is unknown to me. I am not aware of anyone having hacked my account, but it is in the back of my mind naturally that this has occurred. I have changed password on my account so far. I cannot delete the update from the app store even though I have deleted the iphone app from my itunes list.
Every time I open iTunes on my Mac a message comes up asking me if I want to sign in to the iTunes Store. 99.9% of the time I don't but when I delete the message, it reappears every ten seconds or so. I can't see any way of stopping the message from appearing.
Whenever I am trying to sign in Mac App Store, a message saying "connection failed" will show up. I have no problem signing in itunes with my Apple ID, so I know my details are correct. Internet connection works just fine over ethernet, with firewall turned off and there's no other third party app (little snitch) or antivirus program which may restrict the network access from Mac App Store. I restored the OS from internet few days back because of a kernel error. Now I need to sign in Mac App Store to download my iLife applications.
when i attempt to sign in to iTunes, or create a new account (current ver (9.0.2) i get the following error message. We could not complete your iTunes Store request. A unknown error occurred (-9813). There was an error in the iTunes store, please try again later. I can sign in via my iPod over the same wifi connection and via my brother-in-law's Powerbook, why is my MBP refusing to sign in?
I've searched high and low for the error code -9813 and can find no documentation anywhere. It has been doing this since yesterday and the error fires as soon as it attempts to connect to the server however the store content (pre-login) all loads fine i.e. adverts etc within iTunes.
I reported the problem to Apple Support via email. but their responses were unhelpful and had no new information. The suggestion for a fee based call to Apple technical support is insulting. Why would I pay for a call to fix a problem in your portal to sell me software? Also, it is in Apple's best interest to address this; as it stands I can not upgrade to OSX Lion because it is only delivered via the App Store! Am I to throw my Mac Pro out of the window? Is this how Apple provides support to their loyal customers? How long are Apple products supported these days? When I started to use Macs (1991), they had a great reputation, because everything was backward compatible.
The life cycle of Macs has become very short indeed for a very expensive product. After 21 years I may switch to PC (can't believe I am writing this). IF I can not get a Mac that can run processor and graphics intensive tasks anymore, then I have really no choice. I am not buying a two year old Mac Pro at exorbitant prices to run Autodesk Maya (for complex and very high res rendering) when I can run the software on a PC faster and at less than half the cost.Is Apple really abandoning the professional in favor of becoming a consumer electronics company?
While i update iPhoto to new version 9.2.3, the App Store always appears that, To update this application, signin to the account you used to purchase it.
How to use Mac OS X Package Maker to code sign .pkg files for AppStore Submission? .pkg file is created too easily but how to code sign it for AppStore submission?
When I started my Macbook up, after the gray screen with the apple sign, a stop sign appeared on the screen and I couldnt use my laptop as normal. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?
I was having problems before the battery sign desided to display an 'X'earlier in the day the system was not regestering the trackpad's 'click'I spoke to an apple support guy and it was sorted in about a half after a few tries of some restarting and command holding about a couple of hours later the same 'click' problem thought it'd bloody come back! and so i tried to repeat the restarting and command holding to see if i could get my book going by myself...but then the moment i restarted the book the fan sound (a sound i had never heard my macbook make before) was there, loud, and i knew somthing was not right. I reside in Spain and I've recently opened a joint account with a US resident here in Los Angeles at Charles Schwab bank. The financial consultant told us it's possible to deposit checks into schwab account through an app for iphone [URL]I've tried to download but it appears the following window: "your application has not been able to complete" and "The article you requested is not available at this time in Spanish Store, but is available in the U.S. Store. Click Change Store to view this article". If I click to change the Store from the Spanish to the American store, I have to fill the data but my ID apple is not working on the "foreign" store. What can I do? Is there a way to buy / download items from a different Itunes stores?Â
On 6 th April my BT homehub2 updated it's firmware and that's when the problems started. Broadband went down completely and powerlineadapters adapters for bt vision fried. After 2 telephone support calls we eventually got the home hub reset and connected to broadband. Bt supplied two new powerlineadapters and bt vision is now working. Laptop, iPhones and iPad (and bt vision) all connect fine and work completely well.Â
My iMac running OS X 10.7.3, appears to work in that it connects no problem to home hub and when you run diagnostics it says your Internet connection appears to be working normally... However I cannot get a web page to load - I have tried chrome, Firefox and safari. The bizarre thing is using Outlook I can send and receive email, also my apple devices are still syncing via the iCloud - that would suggest that the iMac is indeed connecting wirelessly to the router and sending and receiving data - just no web pages at all - also it can't connect to things like iTunes store or apples app store... Everything was working fine until the firmware update! Â
Also may/may not be related but when I log in now I always have to manually connect to router, it always connects fine but it used to do it automatically, also recently upgraded to Lion and I have my doubts there too?Â
I'm having trouble despite signing into MSN everytime i try it displays the signing in screen for a few minutes and then a message comes up saying That i cannot because i may not be connected to the internet or the service is unavailable. This has happened before and the problem usually passes when i restart the computer or get a new version of MSN. i've tried both of these this time and they haven't worked. I've also tried connecting via another computer on the network. I've tried to sign in using Adium and Mercury and so far nothing has worked.
Over the year I have collected 10+ visa giftcards and now want to buy a upgraded iMac. I know the online apple store only allows for two credit cards, which the visas count as, but if I go to a retail store do they still restrict you or can I use visa giftcards as much as I want. Â
