Intel Mac :: Internet Keeps Stopping Works 5 Minutes And Then Stops?
Jun 10, 2012Got a Mac OS X Version 10.7.4 last week and first off it was fine the Internet connected perfectly and was the fastest connection I've seen. But this morning I came down and it connected for 5 minutes and then although it appeared to be working (The wifi bars were full) the internet wouldn't search for any sites. All the while my iPod and laptop still connected. I did a clean-up of the Mac but that didn't make a difference. It seems to be able to connect for that first 5 minutes every time I restart the computer, but you can't do anything in 5 minutes. I need to correct this, do you have any idea how?

Software :: G5 IMac Not Starting Up/after A Few Seconds The IMac Stops The Start-up Routine
Nov 16, 2008I have a G5 iMac - 2.1 ghz, 20", 250gb hd and 3gb ram, but it has been having problems starting up and it is also going to sleep midway through a task or at random times totally unprompted.
It now almost never starts up first time (I keep the iMac mains power lead always connected and the mains electricity supply turned on at all times now)- sometimes I will get the 'Start-up Chime' and then the cooling fans start spinning very loudly and then after a few seconds the iMac stops the start-up routine, but often when I try to start-up I don't even get the 'Start-up Chime' and I have to leave it for some time before trying again.
I can also now only get the iMac to run as a Firewire Target Disc by starting up with the T key held down and then using an old G4 (400mhz) Powerbook Titanium as the screen/keyboard by using the iMac HD as the startup disc for the Powerbook but this is obviously just a temporary work around.
I have also tried backing up all my data, and reinstalling the Mac OS X onto the iMac but the iMac still will not start-up normal and I still have to use it just as a Firewire HD.

May 5, 2012When I boot up my MacBook Pro (Unibody 17" 2011 model), it maks the CD noise, chimes the apple chime, then shows a grey/white screen. normally, this would progress to a grey screen with the apple logo on it, followed by the login screen, however in my case, the computer seems to just shut down. the fans keep running, so i know it isn't powering down completely. i can't change the volume/etc. after the computer has done this, so i'm assuming it isn't a display issue (also the display flashes white). does anybody know what this sequence of events is a symptom of? i'd really like to get my computer working again.

Jun 29, 2012I am using a Mac Mini with a Realtek USB wireless dongle to connect to the internet. The software and drivers appear connected perfectly and i see the wireless utility and I can access my wireless network, which says signal strength 100%. I connect to it and it accepts the wireless key. Says connected. Then after a few seconds the connection is lost and it says 'Disconnected'. A few seconds later it connects then disconnects and this continues indefinitely but Safari never allows me to access any webpages.Â

When I try to load webpages it takes about 11 seconds to fully load. All other computers in my house are connected to the same internet and running fine. What do I do to make the loading faster?

The network diagnostics recognize the internet with the green lights but the airport lights are red... My browsers are connecting to the internet and I am receiving email. The airport icon in the menu is blank and when I open the menu it says "Airport:Not configured"

MacBook :: Keyboard Stops Responding And Then Works After Reboot?
May 2, 2012My computer will start running really slowly and then the keyboard stops working, then after 30 seconds or so I lose the ability to click but the mouse still moves. Command-option-esc for force quit still works some of the time though but refreshing everything from there doesn't help. After I reboot everything goes back to normal. This has happened every other day or so for about a week.

Jun 4, 2014Just happening within the last couple weeks... 2.9GHz i5 iMac running 10.9.3..Energy Saver settings set to default from day 1..Display is set to turn off after 10 minutes, put hard disks to sleep when possible, and wake for network access.The screen used to pop right back on after hitting the keyboard or moving the bluetooth mouse... Now it still sometimes comes right back and other times take up to 15 seconds. Just happening the last 2-3 weeks.

Jul 1, 2014Using OSX 10.9.3 on my iMac. Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Fairly new iMac, 21.5 inch, Late 2013. Just now, my right click function on my mouse does not work. I have checked my System Preferences and the right click is checked under secondary click. I did uncheck it, exit System Preferences, and then come in again and re-checked it, but that did no good.Â
I did restart my computer last night before I quit for the day because recently I uninstalled Sophos Anti-Virus because it seemed to be caught in a loop that was not finished "cleaning up" but that is only change I have made. Aside from the Sophos acting wonky there were no other issues with the machine last night.Â
The right click does not work in all programs, not just Finder. How can I get my right click function to work again?

Mac Mini :: SD Card Stops Internet Connection?
Oct 14, 2010I've had my (Mid 2010) Mac Mini for a few months now and been frustrated with intermittent WiFi connection (cuts out for no apparent reason and cannot connect to the router) I have other macs in the house so I know the network is working fine. Anyway, I noticed tonight that this only happens when an SD card is located into the slot on the back of the mini. So I played around with it for a while and as soon as the card is pushed in I lose my signal ? If I eject the card from the desktop nothing changes but as soon as I physically remove the card from the Mac Mini the WiFi connection is back and I can load internet pages again.

Every time I go online (on firefox or safari), the internet stops working after about 20 minutes. It used to be about every hour but it's more frequent now. To fix it I have to restart. Once I restarted and the internet didn't even work. It's getting to be immensely frustrating since I have to save everything else I'm working on, restart, and then reopen everything. I don't know much about computers but I'm using a wireless that's shared with one other mac and one other pc in the house. Any ideas of what I should do?

The ethernet port has a static ip of 10.0.0.1 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
Xbox 360
IP 10.0.0.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default router 10.0.0.1
Primary DNS 192.168.0.1 (My Router's IP)
Secondary DNS xx.x.xxx.xx ( a dns server assigned by my ISP)
When I run check the xbox live connection it comes up with

Mac Pro :: Internet Connects Briefly Via (wireless) And Then Disconnects After 30 Seconds
Aug 23, 2014Recently got the new Mac pro and the internet connects briefly via (wire less) and then disconnects after 30 secs. I notice the DNS server switches numbers. After this happens I no longer have internet connection.
Connecting via ethernet is no good either. It doesn't connect at all. I did do a migration from another system. I am wondering whether the setting were saved from my previous system and are getting corrupted with the new system.Â
