Intel Mac :: Internet Keeps Stopping Works 5 Minutes And Then Stops?

Jun 10, 2012

Got a Mac OS X Version 10.7.4 last week and first off it was fine the Internet connected perfectly and was the fastest connection I've seen. But this morning I came down and it connected for 5 minutes and then although it appeared to be working (The wifi bars were full) the internet wouldn't search for any sites. All the while my iPod and laptop still connected. I did a clean-up of the Mac but that didn't make a difference. It seems to be able to connect for that first 5 minutes every time I restart the computer, but you can't do anything in 5 minutes. I need to correct this, do you have any idea how?

MacBook :: Internet Stops Working A Few Minutes?

Dec 17, 2009

I have a macbook that is about 2 years old, maybe a little less, and recently it's been giving me trouble. Every time I go online (on firefox or safari), the internet stops working after about 20 minutes. It used to be about every hour but it's more frequent now. To fix it I have to restart. Once I restarted and the internet didn't even work. It's getting to be immensely frustrating since I have to save everything else I'm working on, restart, and then reopen everything. I don't know much about computers but I'm using a wireless that's shared with one other mac and one other pc in the house. Any ideas of what I should do?

OS X :: EyeTV Stops Video On MBA After Few Minutes?

Oct 31, 2009

I just change a old MBA 1.6 GHz (OSX 10.6.1) for MBA 2.13 GHz (also OSX 10.6.1) and haven problem with EyeTV (3.2.1 version) via Pinacle Hibrid Stick 330e. Soft start excellent - I can see video for few minutes (3,4-5) and than video stops - audio is going (but only for next 2-3 minutes). To see something I have to restart soft or unplug an plug stick to USB port (I do not use HUB, I only use extension of USB cable - MBA have not so much space to plug directly Pinacle Stick). I have to say that on old MBA everything works fine, same OSX version, same USB extension cable, etc.). I try to see if soft and stick works on another computer - I use MacBook Black version (last black configuration) and results: no problems. Video do not stops! I try to find solution on macs forums but I did not find anybody who have this problem.

I've been finding a lot of people have been having the same kind of problem with airport.

MacBook Air :: WiFi Works Only For Few Minutes For This Device

Jun 23, 2014

I have created a wi-fi network with a time capsule which works fine for every device: 2 iPhones, one iPad, apple tv a 13’’ macbook pro.Whenever I use my macbook air the wi-fi works for a few minutes then the connection slows down and stops, and at the same time all of the other devices on the network hang up, the wi-fi connection appear to be on but nothing loads. As soon as i turn the wi-fi off on the air, the connection resume normally on the other devices... then the cycle repeats if i turn it back on...this is really frustrating!

Since the other devices don’t have any problems unless the macbook air is online, I’m assuming there’s something wrong with it but I don’t quite know what... interestingly if I use it on other wi-fi networks (like at work) it seems to be working just fine...I have OS X 10.9.3 installed. this is an 11'' macbook air, mid 2013 model, 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7 with 4 GB of memory.

My computer will start running really slowly and then the keyboard stops working, then after 30 seconds or so I lose the ability to click but the mouse still moves. Intel Mac :: Wireless Keeps Stopping Or Disconnecting (every 30 Mins)

Feb 13, 2012

I've just bought an Imac 21.5inch, mid 2011 - Lion 10.7.3 (11D50) and the wireless connection keeps stopping either it shows it's connected or it's not connected at all. This happens every 30 mins or so, sometimes after 5 minutes or sometimes I can get away for a few hours. I'm using a Draytek router with 3 Wifi aeriels and in the house I have 2 mac minis, an ipad, iphone, android phone and a couple of other PCs, none of which have this problem. I've tried changing the router from G to N and also checked who else nearby is in the same wifi settings, I'm set to 6 others set to 1 or 12. So wouldn't think there is interference. I've only just bought this machine so wondering if it's a problem with Lion or the iMAC.

OS X :: Internet Connection Lost Every Few Minutes

Nov 30, 2010

a few days ago I noticed that my Late 2009 Macbook seemed to lose its internet connection every few minutes just for a couple of seconds only to reconnect. I have no idea why this problem suddenly started occurring, I had not not modified any hardware or software. Strangely enough, this happens whether I use Wifi (at work) or Mobile Broadband via USB ( at home) so I don't think it can be blamed on the internet connection. Stranger still, I should probably not be talking of losing my internet connection but of not being able to access the internet: While again being in a few seconds of slump, I checked my Mobile Broadband Manager and it was not disconnected, upstream traffic was occurring! Just the downstream was at zero. I run windows with bootcamp on the same Mac and there the internet works without trouble. I have all the newest updates installed.

Mac Mini :: SD Card Stops Internet Connection?

Oct 14, 2010

I've had my (Mid 2010) Mac Mini for a few months now and been frustrated with intermittent WiFi connection (cuts out for no apparent reason and cannot connect to the router) I have other macs in the house so I know the network is working fine. Anyway, I noticed tonight that this only happens when an SD card is located into the slot on the back of the mini. So I played around with it for a while and as soon as the card is pushed in I lose my signal ? If I eject the card from the desktop nothing changes but as soon as I physically remove the card from the Mac Mini the WiFi connection is back and I can load internet pages again.

MacBook :: Internet Connection Dropping Every So Often (15 Minutes)

Jun 28, 2014

I'm having a problem maintaining my internet connection. Every so often (~15mins) my computer loses its connection without warning. I have an old MacBook running OS X 10.6.8.

The problem started yesterday when I lost connection. Going into network diagnostics everything was green as far as ISP - Internet and Server were the only ones failing. Restarting the router/laptop did nothing, and no-one else using the router had any connection problems. Eventually, the problem was "solved" by renewing the DHCP Lease, except that now the connection drops. It can be restored by going through the Diagnostics and is usually fixed when I reselect my network, whereupon it works fine for a while before being lost, which I usually discover when trying to load a page.

I have tried restarting the router and laptop, I have tried renewing the DHCP Lease again. Once again I'm the only one on the router experiencing connection issues.

OS X :: Internet Randomly Stops Working On Snow Leopard?

For a while now, my Airport will randomly stop working when browsing the internet. What I mean by that is that when browsing the internet and then trying to open a new tab, it will not load the page I am trying to open. The Airport icon still shows that it is connected, but no pages are loading. I have tried multiple browsers to no avail. As well as restarting.

I am running Mac OS X 10.6.2 with all updates applied.

OS X Yosemite :: Internet Stops Working When Using Time Machine

Dec 4, 2014

I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.1 that has started something. Here's what it is doing:

When I connect my external HDD for Time Machine to my MacBook Pro the internet stops working. By not working I mean, it is stays connected to the WIFI router with a full signal, but the internet, for lack of better words, ceases to function. I can't browse online, any app - like Mail - that uses the internet loses connection, and even background apps running on the top bar loses connectivity. If I run a Time Machine backup, eject the Time Machine external HDD, and pull the USB cable out of the MacBook it instantly goes back online and continues as normal.

I've checked settings, excluded Dropbox and OneDrive from being backed up in case they were conflicting in some way, and have searched for any answer anywhere I could think of.

The external HDD I use for Time Machine is 750GB and is the same HDD that the MacBook Pro came with originally (I swapped HDD to a hybrid drive internally and put the original HDD into an external HDD enclosure which has been solid for me for over 2 years now).
