View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I updated my iMac's software using the Software Update and ever since then a message appears on the desktop that says...
"Searching for movie file "filename"...
It gives me the option to press "Stop" but I cannot stop it. Shortly after this message a second message appears that says...
"The movie file "filename" cannot be found. Without this file, the movie cannot be played properly."
It gives me the option to click "Cancel" or "Search" but I cannot click on it at all.
I searched the problem online, and it says that it has something to do with iTunes, but the file isn't even in iTunes.
i've no idea what i'm talking about really haha, but here's the deal! i have a download that requires steps that i've no idea what the heck they are talking about, and i think it's mostly PC instructions too so i'm totally lost, all i know is what i downloaded isn't complete. so they tell me to do this
1. Burn or mount the Application ISO using one of the many ISO utilities. ( I personally use PowerISO to mount, but daemon tools should work fine too.)
personally i don't have the slightest clue as to what an ISO is in the first place but whatever. so i look up ways to do whatever it is they are asking for macs and i get this from [URL]
If you're wondering how to mount an ISO image in Mac OS X, it is very easy. In the Terminal type the following command: hdiutil mount sample.iso with sample.iso being the path to the image you want to mount. After the checksum is completet, your ISO will appear mounted on your Mac OS X desktop - that's it. You you can actually mount virtually any other disk image type with hdiutil as well, so give .dmg .img a try too.
still no clue what anyone is talking about but ok! i find terminal which i didn't even know existed. i type in what i think is that path cause i've no idea how to find it and i get this
macs-macbook:~ mac$ hdiutil mount /User/mac/Desktop/japanese1/data/00.rsd hdiutil: mount failed - No such file or directory.
i can easily find it using windows7, but can't on OSX. it seems like OSX is searching for strings of text within files rather than actual filenames.Â

When I open a new finder window, it doesn't have anything in it. If I change the preferences to another place, I get the contents. If I change them back to the desktop, I get nothing. Searching for something gets me items, but I would like my finder window to behave again. I just don't know where the preferences file is now, in Lion..

I just upgraded the firmware on my Airport Extreme Base Station, and one of the external drives that was connected to it isn't recognized any more. I'm trying to find the 7.5.1 firmware file to downgrade, but no success. Since it came with 7.5.1 pre-installed, the only file in my ~/Library/Application Support/Apple/AirPort directory is 7.5.2.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI do a home photo editing business. One of a my clients sent me a disc that she zipped to compress because there were a lot of pictures on it. When I try to open it on my Mac Book Pro I keep getting an error message that it cannot find alias and what program do I want to use to open it. It also gives me an option to "fix alias" but it doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I open zip files on my Mac Book Pro? I should probably mention that the client also uses a Mac Book Pro and her pictures were in her iPhoto before she zipped them on a disc.Â
