I click on File> Share> Master File, Nothing Happens, Not even an error message. I have tried restarting the application. Also the project seems to render when I click (Render All) but the orange bar does not disappear. I am running FCP 10.1.3 on a Macbook Pro mid 2012
My master file is huge. How do I compress it so that I keep quality but that it is a manageable size for people to be able to buy and download from my website. It is a 1 and a half hour film and has come in at a whopping 80GB. Do I have some settings wrong here? I am using 10.1.1 Final Cut Pro X. I obviously don't want to store master files that big every time I make a film this long or is that just how it has to be?
Importing a small motion movie into fcpx and I get this error "There is not enough disk space available at the selected destination. Please choose another one or clear some space" the destination is a new 6TB raid thats empty. I've created a new library on that drive and still get the same error!
I just updated my iMac from Lion to Maveric. I was very disapointed that all the Master Templates HD are crashing FCP 7. Its amazing that Apple did not fix this issue with FCP7 upgrade. To get FCP X is out of the question.
I am transferring photos from a phone (LG) via Bluetooth. The pairing worked and now the photos are transferring to the Documents folder, which is fine, but I'd love to change the destination folder.
It seems like there should be an easy way to do this, but I can't find it. This is on a MacBook Pro running Tiger (10.4.11) (Yes I know I should upgrade).
Is there a 3rd party app that would allow me to set up a destination folder that files from this device would always go to?
ok, say i download a jpeg or mp3 or whatever. is there a way so that when i download the file, it goes straight to a specific folder that i determine beforehand? i've seen chrome do this
I had to replace my hard drive on my new iMac and after the Time Machine restore Apreture is telling me it can't locate any of the master images. They are there as I have verified but it tells me they are not there. The preview images are showing up, but the link to the masters has been broken.
When I try and do a reveal in finder the error message tells me the volume is currently off-line.
I'm trying to import sony fs-700 video into fcpx. I haven't had any problem until today. For some reason it just shows the file structure and the AVCHD video file and won't let me import.
I am willing to save on my hard disk the content of a SD card that contains mts files that I can access via AVCHD, BDMV, STREAM.
When I copy the whole SD card to save on my hard disk, I get an error message saying that the copy cannot proceed because one of the file contains information that cannot be read.
I was told on this group, that changing the structure of the AVCHD folder should not be changed. Can I delete the file that contains a bug ? or will I screw up the AVCHD folder ?
At my job I was given a new computer with an updated version of Final Cut Pro (FCP 10.1 - my old computer has FCP 10.0.7 installed). I tried moving my fcp events from my old computer to my new computer via an external drive.
The events did not show up in the fcp software on my new computer after plugging in my external drive.
I plugged my external drive back into my old computer. The events showed up but I could not locate any of the projects associated with those events.
Aren't projects stored inside events? How can I locate these projects so I can move them to my new computer?
I have filmed using a Canon XF300 camera which produces MPEG -2 files on CF cards. I have used the highest quality setting - 1920x1080 i50 : this is broadcast standard.
I use FCP version 7.03 to log and transfer the material. I have edited a half hour project with various effects and that too has worked. BUT now I cannot find a way of EXPORTING this as a QT movie to copy onto a 4Gb DVD. I have tried various settings - Apple Pro Res 422 is the favourite but it produces huge files. I find the digital domain hasn't been covered well enough in the FCP version I have.
I was export timeline xdcam 35 mbs, 720p 50 fps to MP4 720p 50 fps.
When looking video on Mac everything is ok, but, when I copy MP4 file to USB and put directly to LCD there is only video, no audio? Before on G5 I was use matrox compress card, and always MP4 file was ok on LCD. Where is problem?
I was editing a music video last night and finished the edit. I then began to do my color grading. I use Magic Bullet Looks and was using Neat Video Noise Reducer as well. Nothing out of the norm as far as my workflow goes. I got about half way finished with color and turned my computer off when i went to bed. This morning when i reopened fcpx the project loaded but showed a few spots of the timeline that needed to render (the orange bars). BUt once i clicked inside my timeline fcpx froze and i would have to force quit the program.. I have tried uplugging the drive that the events and projects are saved on and opening fcpx that way..it works and other projects from other drives are working fine but when i plug the drive with the corrupted project it loads the project in the timeline but still freezes every single time i click in the timeline and the render percentage is stuck at 0%....Every once in a while when i try it will render about 9 to 30 % then freeze again..
Can i create my own FCP X Projects file? I'm new to FCP X and the training I'm on said i should have a project and events folder in but I've only seen the FCP X Events file. I'm afraid that these folders may not be able to communicate properly?
I have been using FCP 7 for some time now and all of a sudden I cannot import an Mp4 file. I get a file error saying the FCP does not recognize the file? I have been importing and using Mp4 files all along. I can't find any setting in FCP that would address this problem?
How to edit M2TS file in Final Cut Pro 6? I have M2TS file from Sony Handly Cam to MacBook Pro, when import the file to Final Cut Pro, just show "unkonwn the file".
I Was using Final Cut Pro X and Safari, and my computer would not process my exporting of a file from Final Cut. So, I tried restarting it.... It froze and I held down the power button, shut it down and turned it on when.... The apple logo appears with spinning circle, and then I get a circle with a slash and Apple logo disappears.
I have a Late 2011 MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.2ghz i7 quad core 8Gb ram 500gb 7200rpm HDD OS X 10.9.5.
I have been successfully been able to make several videos using Final Cut Pro X, about 12 already, and for some reason, it just doesn't want to anymore!!
I share the file via Apple Devices 1080p and i get that l title notification that says "Share successful" but the file doesn't show up at all! Normally, they pop up at the Home Videos folder deep inside the iTunes folder thingo. They're not anywhere on this mac.
I have been given a powerpoint presentation (stills and music) that I want to use in a FCE project (16.9, HDV), but am having trouble getting it into FCE.
The powerpoint presentation opens in VLC (which I downloaded) and plays well on my Mac in a 16.9 display ok.
The original file is .wmv but it needs some kind of conversion to make it play in FCE.
I have been working on a project for school fine until today. When I tried to resize the FCPX layout I got a white screen and then it crashed and I had to force quit it (see image).
Having tried to reopen it I just get the beach ball and have to force quit each time. I have tried other macs in the room and it is the same. Other projects appear to open fine, so it seems that a file with the project might be corrupt?
I have attached images of the package contents . The school system is set up so that we have to save on external drives and any work on the mac is wiped as soon as you log out so auto saves are a no-go
An issue arose today with our new MacPro/FCPX/SNS EVO SAN combo.
When importing media from a portable drive using FCPX in “copy files” mode, with the Library’s media folder residing on the SAN, FCPX imports but does not copy the media. The clip appearing in the browser is still linked to the original file.
If the clip is of a codec that can be optimized and the option in the import window is ticked, only the optimized media is copied to the SAN volume.
Renders work, writing to a dedicated NAS volume, Exports work too, writing to another dedicated Exports NAS volume.
I am stumped. I have never seen FCPX behave this way. The strange thing is that at no time does it indicate any problem with the copying process not succeeding…
Because the optimized media is created on the volume I would imagine this is probably more of an OS/FCPX issue but I don’t know enough about the processes in the mac to be sure of that.
OBTW: Trashed the prefs, with both Pref Manager and alt+cmd at launch.
Info: Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), 64 GB RAM Dual 700s gfx cards
FCPX says media is missing, but "show package contents" on the library file shows all of the media where it is supposed to be. How do I make FCPX see the media?
I have a film that I need to burn to a DVD but seems like I'm having issues with it playing in numerous DVD players. It will play on friends' Mac computers but not on DVD players. I'm thinking it may be a codec issue, but I may be wrong.
I edited the film using Final Cut Pro X on my iMac 2012 model and I do not have an external rewritable disc drive. I exported the master file from Final Cut and copied the file to a flash drive, copied to my PC desktop, then proceeded to burn the file to a DVD-R using Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate on my PC.
Is there a better, absolute way to burn my film to a DVD to insure it WILL play on all DVD devices?
Whenever I import a 720x480 mp4 file to Final Cut Express I have to render it. And whenever I add an effect to a clip I have to render again. Is there a way to stop this?
Rebooting this question to keep it simpler. Using the above, when I try to relink to files that are definitely the same type and size (WAVs or AIFFs only), the process SEEMS to work; the progress bar to confirm matching file goes through, file name disappears from the link search window and at the bottom it says (when searching for 1 file) Matched: 1 out of 1.
But nothing changes, still just red empty clips in Event Browser and Timeline. I've tried deleting original file references / aliases from the Original Media folder, tried linking to the new file from various older folders, tried changing the names of files, just nothing. I've trashed preferences with Preference Manager. Is this some bug they left behind in Mountain Lion because they think we should all be in Mavericks by now? I'm afraid to upgrade to 10.1.1 anyway with some older projects I still need to use - and I have other reasons to wait as well.
