I just upgraded the firmware on my Airport Extreme Base Station, and one of the external drives that was connected to it isn't recognized any more. I'm trying to find the 7.5.1 firmware file to downgrade, but no success. Since it came with 7.5.1 pre-installed, the only file in my ~/Library/Application Support/Apple/AirPort directory is 7.5.2.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a iPhone 4 (running 4.2.1) that I used sparingly so I never synced/updated the firmware. I finally decided to update the firmware, but am running into the following problem. On the summary tab for the phone in iTunes, I see "A newer version of the iPhone software is available (version 4.3.5). To update ..."
when I click the "Update" button, it just open the file browser (I'm assuming to find the firmware file.) I looked in the ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/ and the directory does not exist. Searched the entire filesystem for other download locations (search for iPhone, .ipsw etc.), didn't have luck.
A couple of things that I find strange:
1. Not sure why the available version is 4.3.5 and not 5+ (maybe there's no direct upgrade path from 4.2.1 -> 5+)
2. I never looked for the updates manually, perhaps iTunes detected it on startup.
In any case, it seems like iTunes *thinks* it already downloaded the lastest version, but can't seem to find the downloaded file and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to force iTunes to try redownloading. I don't think it's a version issue. OSX: 10.6.8. iTunes: 10.6.1. I've tried rebooting, altering the order of starting itunes and plugging in the phone etc. without any luck. Am I just out of luck or am I missing something obvious?

After searching threads here about replacements, it seems some people are having stalling and beachball issues with their replacement HDs in their uMBPs.
So here is my poll:
1. Have you replaced the HD in a uMBP (with motion sensor) with no ill effects?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've made two coasters today on my iMac 27" core i7.
I am using Verbatim DVD +R DL blanks and utilized Disk Utility to make one coaster (copy to a .CDR and then burned) and then used Toast 10 to write IFO files.
The DVD will "run" but looks and sounds like a satellite tv signal in bad weather - choppy all over the place. This happens on 4 players - two separate laptops, an xbox 360, and even the original iMac 27" I used to write the DVDs.
I have had no problems whatsoever writing single layer DVDs (even using old Comp USA blanks!) and playing them on aforementioned players.
Anybody have any success writing DL DVDs? If so, what brand of disc did you use? Did you reduce speed to 2x writing? Help - I don't want to create any more coasters!

It gives me the option to press "Stop" but I cannot stop it. Shortly after this message a second message appears that says...

It gives me the option to click "Cancel" or "Search" but I cannot click on it at all.
I searched the problem online, and it says that it has something to do with iTunes, but the file isn't even in iTunes.
i've no idea what i'm talking about really haha, but here's the deal! i have a download that requires steps that i've no idea what the heck they are talking about, and i think it's mostly PC instructions too so i'm totally lost, all i know is what i downloaded isn't complete. so they tell me to do this
1. Burn or mount the Application ISO using one of the many ISO utilities. ( I personally use PowerISO to mount, but daemon tools should work fine too.)

If you're wondering how to mount an ISO image in Mac OS X, it is very easy. In the Terminal type the following command: hdiutil mount sample.iso with sample.iso being the path to the image you want to mount. After the checksum is completet, your ISO will appear mounted on your Mac OS X desktop - that's it. You you can actually mount virtually any other disk image type with hdiutil as well, so give .dmg .img a try too.

Was in the middle of installing adobe master collection and it froze. I restarted my machine but cant find the install file. I was using the assistant manager does this mean i need to download the whole thing again or is in in a cache memory folder? Some of the applications have installed and some are have not.
