OS X V10.7 Lion :: After Sending An Email, It Remains As Draft?
May 16, 2012After updating to Mac OS X 10.7.3 (and continues with 10.7.4), after sending an email it remains in the draft folder and I need to delete it manually.

View 2 RepliesI am using Snow Leopard. An odd behavior has recently appeared. On some (but not all) occassions, when I send an email from an IMAP account, after the email is sent successfully (confirmed by a copy in the Sent mailbox), a second copy appears in the Draft mailbox. Â
The account is a gmail account (but @plessthan.com rather than gmail.com). Â
Of note, about a month ago (well before this started happening), I converted from POP to IMAP. To do this, I set up a new IMAP account in Mail, then rendered the POP account inactive.Â

For the last week I find that after sending an email with attachments that it remains in my draft box after sending. The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

If I create an email that is saved as a draft while I'm still writing the email, when it finally sends Mail doesn't delete the email from the drafts folder.
I only use MobileMe in Mail, so I'm not sure if this is a problem with MobileMe or with Mail. It happens periodically on both my MacBook and iMac.

Outgoing e-mails not going. Problem developed yesterday but has occurred now and then since I upgraded from Snow Leopard to 10.9.3. In the past the problem has mysteriously solved itself after a few days. I would like to know what causes it and how to solve it right away. Â
Incoming emails arrive all right.Â
My provider, Suddenlink recommended changing my outgoing server but that made no difference, so I have gone back to the settings that do work most of the time. Â
When I went to Suddenlink's web address  (www.suddenlink.net) and opened my e-mail account there, I could send and receive, but I would like to work with Mail rather with Suddenlink's POP.Â

I tried to send an email to almost 300 recipients through Mail. For whatever reason (not important to me for these purposes) the message cannot send on the server it attempted to use. The message itself remains on my desktop, with a dropdown error message over it. Here's the problem: due to the number of recipients, the dropdown menu goes beyond the lower end of the monitor.
When I view the message in Mission Control I can see that there are options at the bottom of the error message like Edit Message, Try Later, and Try Selected Server, but I cannot click on any of those to try any of them. Also, Tab seems to have no effect on what button is highlighted, and Try Selected Server remains the active choice. If I press return it will try the same server that did not work and then the message remains. I have also tried going into the Outbox and deleting the message but that doesn't work either.

I cannot seem to get my iCloud calendar to stop sending email notifications to others for every single event I change. I've tried unchecking the box that says "email me when this calendar has changed", to no avail.

Recently, my Apple Mail has been sending from two to six copies of email, timed to the same minute. I've taken to using Thunderbied (which I don't prefer) to avoid it. My theory is that if I can reload Lion it might cure it, but since Lion only comes as a download, I don't know how.

How do you delete email address' that come up automatically when sending mail? Old ones that have been changed come up before the new one?? I need to get them deleted.

OK, so my email has been changed to a new account. Told to keep old account and settings on computer as to not lose old emails on mac. Â
Set up new account with same email (some password security errors side) but now cannot change to new account to sent emails as mail only lets me select the email address to send from and not the mail account.
I am running OS 10.5.4. The problem is with Apple email.
I have one draft message that refuses to be deleted. When I highlight it and hit delete, it just turns grey and does not delete. I can add new drafts and delete them just fine. any ideas? I have tried clearing the user cache to no avail.
I cannot tell if this question has gone through, so please forgive the repeats. Simply put: I want to retrieve a draft email I had deleted by mistake. Please give me direction as I have tried using a few applications today, such as DevonthinkPro, and could not find any indication of drafts, just sent or inbox emails.
My emails just the name of the sender remains bold even after I read the email, making it look like it's not been read. Is this the way it's suppose to look or should the boldness go away?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can see my messages, but cannot create a new message or reply to any messages. When I try nothing happens, then Mail freezes all together and usually crashes. I was able to get into my Mail settings and everything looks ok as far as I can tell. My software is completely up to date now (unfortunately).

Mail saves multiple draft copies of the same email. Every few seconds, a new draft is saved, displaying a few more words. How can I prevent this from happening?

Does anyone have a good solution for delayed email sending? I'm currently using Mac Mail and haven't found a way to do this.
I just installed the beta version of Microsoft Office w/ Outlook 2011 and I don't see that option either.
Sometimes I'm working all throughout the night and would like to schedule the emails to be sent in the morning. Somehow, a 7am email just looks so much better than a 3am email
Using Daniel's Plug-In I am running my hotmail address on OS X Mail. However, there's an option in Hotmail called "Send and receive mail from other e-mail accounts". Can I do this on OS X Mail through Hotmail?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone any idea's on this one. We have a user that has an entourage issue. Every now and again entourage does not send out an email, even though the email appears in 'sent items'. we know the mail has not been sent because it does not show in the microsoft exchange mail log, mail that has been genuinely sent does appear here. the server is exchange 2008 .
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my Macbook, I use Mail when on the road. Lately, every time I open Mail it asks me for my password. I supply it and compose a message. When I try to send the message, it asks me for my password again. In Mail Preferences, I type in my password for the account, click on the "save changes" box, and close Preferences. When I reopen preferences again, the password is missing. Also when I am asked for the password in order to send or receive messages, I fill in the password and click on "save password in keychain" box. No change - it continues to ask for the password every time.
View 11 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to set up e-mail accounts in my Mac mail that allow me to "send only" from them? For example, I have a couple e-mail accounts that I only use for commercial / e-commerce communication (airline tickets, eBay transactions, etc), but am otherwise not interested in setting up as an inbox because they simply flood with spam.
Is there a way to set up Mail so that I can choose to send a message as me@xxxxx.com (rather than me@mac.com); WITHOUT adding an inbox for this account?
Does Mail.app have a way of sending an email to everyone in my address book??? (ignoring ISP limits for a second/assuming they don't apply)
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am in the UK and use google mail, it's been fine for ages but I hardly ever send emails. So today I needed to and I can't! I can send emails from google mail online fine, but my Mac Mail refuses to and I have installed Entourage 08 tonight, updated it and again it fails to send, I have reset my router, set everything to IMAP from POP, deleted and created new email accounts in each programme but STILL neither will send emails!
I am begining to wonder if Google Mail is in fact poo as it seems to cause many problems for people?
MacMail: I'm wondering if there's an easy way to send an email (notice of changed email address) to all those who have ever emailed me in the past.

I am running 10.4.11 on my G5 iMac & 10.6.8 on my 2010 MacBook Pro. I am using the Apple Mail application on both machines for my [url].. address.I migrated to iCloud (Mail Only Option) on thursday 6/28 and changed my mail server settings in Tiger on my G5 iMac according to Roger Wilmut's instructions today 7/1. I have yet to do this on my MacBook Pro running 10.6.8.
Now in Tiger when I try to send an email I am getting a certificate error:
Unable to verify SSL server [url]...
Mail was unable to verify the identity of this server which has a certificate issued to "*.mail.me.com". The error was:
The root certificate for this server could not be verified.
You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "smtp.mail.me.com", and putting you confidential information at risk.I clicked Show Certificate and the certificate has a blue border, [url].., issued by Entrust Certification Authority-L1C, Expires Wed. July 3, 2013.I pressed Option & dragged the cert. icon to the desktop, double clicked the icon on the desktop. It asked if I wanted to add the certificate from the file [url]... to a keychain. I chose X.509 Anchors from the dropdown menu & clicked OK to permanently accept the certificate to Keychains.
