My emails just the name of the sender remains bold even after I read the email, making it look like it's not been read. Is this the way it's suppose to look or should the boldness go away?

I have an icloud account which I use for personal use. We recently bought an ipad for the family and set up an icloud to be used for family viewing. I added to my mac the new account (lets call it it '[url]...') but it seems to be moving all the [url]... mail into my personal one on my mac. Since this is suppose to be family, I was hoping to have the email stay with the [url]... so both my husband I could monitor it. However, since my mac is merging it, it is deleted from ipad we share.
Is there anyone to set the mail preferences on my mac so the email stays with the [url]... account? I have tried all the preferences but not finding a way to keep the mail at [url]....

I am using Snow Leopard. An odd behavior has recently appeared. On some (but not all) occassions, when I send an email from an IMAP account, after the email is sent successfully (confirmed by a copy in the Sent mailbox), a second copy appears in the Draft mailbox. Â
The account is a gmail account (but @plessthan.com rather than gmail.com). Â
Of note, about a month ago (well before this started happening), I converted from POP to IMAP. To do this, I set up a new IMAP account in Mail, then rendered the POP account inactive.Â

I have a 2009-2010 27inch iMac with OSX and software fully updated.My Mac started shutting down or going into deep sleep when left on.I've tried rebooting, power long hold, checking cords etc.I've attempted the 5 second hold after disconnecting the power cord, plugging back in and start no luck.I hear a very small click inside when I long hold, sometimes a very faint spinning sound but nothing else.The fan came on once after a start attempt but nothing else happened. I can't seem to safe start because the screen remains black.

Using an iMac 2011 with Mavericks 10.9.4. Been having issues with the Mail client leaving mail that has been read in the 'unread' smart box. The account is an IMAP, and I have done the empty the whole thing and start over routine, and that works. However I don't want to keep having to do this over and over, since some of my boxes are large.Â
is there something that I need to do on the other end of the IMAP, since the email is on a domain I own, not gmail or yahoo.

Email recipients using Mac Mail have been reporting that when they get email from me (from Outlook2007 in the PC), it would include all the tags. Also happens when I send as RTF. Plain text is fine.
So I did an experiment and since I am a mac user too, I tested it myself on my mac mail. Test scenario is this:
1. I send email from Outlook2007 (PC) using HTML as default.
2. I open with Macmail, I get garbage. (see below and/or attached file for illustration.)
3. I open same email on Entourage, it's fine.
4. I open same email on webmail, it's fine.
Lately I have received quite a few e-mails with various attachments that seem to require something other than quicktime to open. In most cases i get a message that says "Quicktime unable to read format" or words to that effect. Just wondering what other downloads there are out there that enable you to read more of the different formats.

I would like to be able to delete emails without having the program automatically "read" the next mail in the queue. This used to be possible but the mail program has changed and now I can no longer figure out how to do this. Now, after I clean out my Inbox by deleting emails, I have to go back and "unread" selected mails so I can remember to go back to them. I realize I could flag everything of importance but I prefer to save flags for specific emails, not just ones that I haven't read yet.

How can I change the default size font that is shown when I try to read an email in Outlook 2007? I know you can hold shift+mouse scroll button, but that is not the answer since it does not save the size you select. I want it to be saved a certain size and always open that size by default.

View 3 Replies View RelatedEverything is very difficult right now as my iMac has turned into a print by that "15 minutes of fame" bloke. The screen resolution has gone completely strange and everything looks really blocky and boldly coloured... but only for one user. If I log in under my wife's account everything is fine. I've been through all the system settings a dozen times, and tried changing the resolution back to max and colours back to millions, but nothing helps. Googling for the problem doesn't find anything either. I've even tried a time machine restore of my area to earlier in the day, but that doesn't seem to help (although it won't let me restore my home directory, as the restore button is grayed out). When I switch users, the resolution jumps back to normal for a fraction of a second... just before I switch away to another user. A kind of "here's what you could have won" teaser. Likewise, when I switch back, all looks OK for a split second.

I haven't noticed this before, but when I went to sync a movie to my iPod, the "syncable" movie are bold and the "unsyncable" ones are greyed out. This saves me some confusion with all the movies I have encoded for AppleTV vs iPod. Running 3.0 beta 2 on iTouch 2G, iTunes 8.1.1
