Outgoing e-mails not going. Problem developed yesterday but has occurred now and then since I upgraded from Snow Leopard to 10.9.3. In the past the problem has mysteriously solved itself after a few days. I would like to know what causes it and how to solve it right away.
Incoming emails arrive all right.
My provider, Suddenlink recommended changing my outgoing server but that made no difference, so I have gone back to the settings that do work most of the time.
When I went to Suddenlink's web address (www.suddenlink.net) and opened my e-mail account there, I could send and receive, but I would like to work with Mail rather with Suddenlink's POP.

I tried to send an email to almost 300 recipients through Mail. For whatever reason (not important to me for these purposes) the message cannot send on the server it attempted to use.The message itself remains on my desktop, with a dropdown error message over it. Here's the problem: due to the number of recipients, the dropdown menu goes beyond the lower end of the monitor.
When I view the message in Mission Control I can see that there are options at the bottom of the error message like Edit Message, Try Later, and Try Selected Server, but I cannot click on any of those to try any of them. Also, Tab seems to have no effect on what button is highlighted, and Try Selected Server remains the active choice. If I press return it will try the same server that did not work and then the message remains. I have also tried going into the Outbox and deleting the message but that doesn't work either.

I cannot seem to get my iCloud calendar to stop sending email notifications to others for every single event I change. I've tried unchecking the box that says "email me when this calendar has changed", to no avail.

Recently, my Apple Mail has been sending from two to six copies of email, timed to the same minute. I've taken to using Thunderbied (which I don't prefer) to avoid it. My theory is that if I can reload Lion it might cure it, but since Lion only comes as a download, I don't know how.

How do you delete email address' that come up automatically when sending mail? Old ones that have been changed come up before the new one?? I need to get them deleted.

OK, so my email has been changed to a new account. Told to keep old account and settings on computer as to not lose old emails on mac.
Set up new account with same email (some password security errors side) but now cannot change to new account to sent emails as mail only lets me select the email address to send from and not the mail account.
I've just downloaded the beta messages for mountain lion and when ever i try to send anything a exclamation mark just appears. It works on my iphone.

Yesterday mail worked fine. Today I keep getting a dialog box with
The SMTP server “p99-smtp.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user "xxxxxx".
Although I have not altered any of the settings overnight etc, I put in my password - no joy.
This has happened on both my iMac and my Macbookair. I can send email from my iphone and from my mail account when I log into iCloud via Safari.
What's happening & how do I fix it? This is so annoying as I haven't changed anything overnight. I'm using OSX 10.7.3

I constantly use Mail to send and receive emails on my MacBook.On it I have three email 'accounts' - my me.com address (for formal emails to work, banks etc.), my "junk" address (for spam, gaming etc.) and my "home" address (for personal emails and everything else).When typing an email, if I choose to send it from a different account than the one I originally selected, I can just change it in the 'From' pop-down menu (under the 'To', 'Cc', 'Bcc' and 'Subject' fields).Recently though, for some reason when I want to send an email from my "home" address, it sends it from my "junk"one instead, even if I am sending it 'From' my "home" address.It still has my "home" address' signature, and not every time it does send from my "junk" one instead - rather it seems to send from both as it feels up to.This bothers me quite a bit, especially when I send an important email using my "home" address but it sends from my "junk" - both confusing and annoying me and the recipients.This only just started happening to me this past week.

I've been sending e-mails and some clients have been telling me that their email is blank, I've checked my sent items and the contents are definitely there, one of my clients told me its because I'm sending from a mac and that the contents of the email has gone into an attachment, is this because of something i am doing wrong when sending emails ??

Recently I have not been able to send email using my Verizon outgoing server on the Lion email client. I can receive OK, but the server keeps rejecting something and a window pops up asking me to select a different SMTP server. Before I called Verizon, I decided to see if there were any free eMail clients I could use as a test and the new Eudora showed up when I did a "Bing" search.
I just installed Eudora and after a very quick setup, I sent a message using the Verizon server without any problem, the mail coming into both the Eudora and Lion mailboxes.So the problem is not with Lion, but with the Lion eMail client. I know Verizon does not officially support Macs, but since Eudora works, I have localized the issue to the standard Lion email client.
Anyone else have a similar experience with Verizon or some other ISP in not being able to send eMail?
First, Eudora is an answer. Second - I would like to resolve the problem with the Lion eMail client - it must be some obscure server setting. I know that it used to work, but I am not sure whether it was with Lion or Snow Leopard. Usually when I send an eMail, I use Cloud and was using MobileMe so I did not notice whether or not Verizon's SMTP server was working.
I noticed it today when I could not reply to an eMail that came in on one of my Verizon accounts.

I use my Mac at work (as well as at home). I have 2 calendars- 'Work' is connected to my Exchange account. 'Home' is synced through iCloud. For some inexplicable reason, when I get a repeating meeting invite from a customer (who is using Google calendar in their company) to my work Exchange mail account the invite goes a bit nuts. Basically the invite goes into my 'Home' calendar and sets me as the meeting organiser! So... now I have a meeting invite, that I cannot remove, in the wrong calendar.If I remove it it threatens to send out meeting cancellations to all (20!) of the attendees! Needless to say I will not be in a good place if that happens! So my challenge to you all- how on earth do I hack this meeting invite out of my iCloud calendar? From searching around there seems to have been an application, called iCalpone, that could do this, but it is no longer available.

It seems it's when I use mBox for mac (registered copy) in Mail to use my Hotmail with IMAP.I hadn't noticed it at first, but now I see every time I send a mail I get 2 copies in my sent box. I can turn off the store sent messages on server option to fix it (but that's the whole point of having IMAP!). Or I can turn off mBox for mac and it also seems to work (but then I can't use IMAP!).
I've also tried on the same machine from gmail, and iCloud accounts (MobileMe), and I had no issue at all.I've also tried 2 different Hotmail accounts, and both of them send double messages every time I send.I think anyone still using a hotmail account will eventually install something like mBox for mac if they've gone Mac recently - as I have. I checked the mail headers of the 2 mails, and they are quite different (masked where appropriate) -

When I right click on a group, and click "send to...", none of the email address show up in the TO field, only the name of the Group appears.Previously, I used mac mail and clicking "send to" group would result in all email addresses going right where they're supposed to go.I don't know how I changed the client to Gmail, but if I can't get it to work, I'd like to switch it back.

my DELETE functionality within finder is not working consistently anymore. I am only seeing this issue on my new MAC BOOK AIR (used for work and received just last week), and not on my macmini (that is also running Lion and I've had for a year).
Basically, I am having problems deleting files using CMD + DELETE. I hit this command and get the typically apple "ping" sound for a something that isn't working, however I can right click and hit MOVE TO TRASH and it goes immediately, which means it's definitely not a file permission/in-use/lockout issue.
I feel like I did something stupid to cause this, but it only doesn't work occasionally. I have noticed it moreso right after I open or have used a file, but while CMD+DEL doesn't work, the MOVE TO TRASH does, so i'm lost.
extremely frustrated and I've been through my System Pref settings alot in case I turned something off.

I just installed the beta version of Microsoft Office w/ Outlook 2011 and I don't see that option either.
Sometimes I'm working all throughout the night and would like to schedule the emails to be sent in the morning. Somehow, a 7am email just looks so much better than a 3am email
Using Daniel's Plug-In I am running my hotmail address on OS X Mail. However, there's an option in Hotmail called "Send and receive mail from other e-mail accounts". Can I do this on OS X Mail through Hotmail?

Every now and again entourage does not send out an email, even though the email appears in 'sent items'. we know the mail has not been sent because it does not show in the microsoft exchange mail log, mail that has been genuinely sent does appear here. the server is exchange 2008 .

I have a weird experiencing problem I have to shut email down and restart it to check on new email
when I tab the new e-mail icon it only checks for a 1/10 of a second not enough time to check server so i shut down e-mail restart and finds new email

On my Macbook, I use Mail when on the road. Lately, every time I open Mail it asks me for my password. I supply it and compose a message. When I try to send the message, it asks me for my password again. In Mail Preferences, I type in my password for the account, click on the "save changes" box, and close Preferences. When I reopen preferences again, the password is missing. Also when I am asked for the password in order to send or receive messages, I fill in the password and click on "save password in keychain" box. No change - it continues to ask for the password every time.
