Mail saves multiple draft copies of the same email. Every few seconds, a new draft is saved, displaying a few more words. How can I prevent this from happening?
View 3 RepliesI can see my messages, but cannot create a new message or reply to any messages. When I try nothing happens, then Mail freezes all together and usually crashes. I was able to get into my Mail settings and everything looks ok as far as I can tell. My software is completely up to date now (unfortunately).

smart mailbox lists multiple copies of each message; option to exclude messages from trash, etc has no effect.

Recently, my Apple Mail has been sending from two to six copies of email, timed to the same minute. I've taken to using Thunderbied (which I don't prefer) to avoid it. My theory is that if I can reload Lion it might cure it, but since Lion only comes as a download, I don't know how.

When you compose a Mail message, if you double-click the send button it sends TWO copies of the mail? I just sent someone a message, and my hand accidentally clicked the mouse twice when I hit send. I heard two whooshes and saw two message windows briefly appear. And sure enough, two copies listed in the Sent folder. I thought I'd sent an earlier draft which was sitting behind the first message. But no -- I tried it again with a new message to myself. And I received two mails.Â

I have gmail set up on my mac & iphone as IMAP. Works great, except for a weird deal whenever I send mail. After the email has been sent, if I go to trash, I'll find multiple copies of the sent email sitting there. I.E.- today I sent a single email(not a reply), and there were 16, yes 16 copies of that sent email in my trash. There was only one copy in the sent mail folder. It's a pain deleting all this stuff.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to Mavericks and one of the widgets that was in the + area has been duplicated on my dashboard and I can't get rid of them. There is no 'manage widgets' button like there was in Snow Leopard. I can't get those little Xs to appear, unless I want to delete the widget entirely.

I have noticed that when Mail is downloading my new email, and I look at the "Mail Activity" box in the lower right corner of the application, it seems to be downloading double the mail I am seeing. For instance, if I see 6 new emails, there will be a blue bar and the message "downloading X of 12 messages" as they come in. It doesn't seem to happen with my Mobileme account, just with my IMAP account from GoDaddy. Only the correct number of messages appear visible in my Inbox. I deal with large files on a regular basis, I really don't want my storage to double, and it just seems like something is wrong that should be fixed.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedI saved an email in Drafts a few days ago, and just sent it out recently. However, there was a problem during the sending. Several copies of the same email were sent to the recipient. After restarting my computer and the application a message keeps popping up stating: Some actions taken while the account "my acct name" was offline could not be completed online. Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox "On My Mac" in "On My Mac" so that you can complete the actions while online.
Additional information: The connection to the server "imap.gmail.com" on port 993 timed out.
or The IMAP command "APPEND" (to Drafts) failed with server error: Could not parse command. Along with this message the same email shows up in my Drafts folders. I've deleted many copies of them, but they keep coming back the same way. I'd also like to mention that that particular email account is not getting mail for me, but the app is getting mail for my other emails. All accounts are online. I'm not sure what to do.
I would like to send emails to all email addressess in one contact. It automatically chooses the first email in the card. Is it possible to choose all email addresses in one contact?Â

Just recently, my email recipients are getting my sent image embedded in the email so they can not download them. This is particular to jpegs and some zipped files. Mac OSX 10.9.3 I am using iMail. It also doesn't seem to matter of I send it from a POP or IMAP account. It is happening to both Mac and PC users.

The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

How do I send email addresses in an email? I wanted to send my family some addresses so they could email more family in an evite invitation. I'm not using my mighty mouse anymore. I use a Targus one as I have arthritis and it's scrolls much easier. I don't think that makes a difference does it? I thought it was a right click and it would highlight the address, and the person who receives it can just click on it.
I use Hotmail and Roadrunner email. I have accounts in Gmail and Yahoo as well, but rarely use them, unless one of my main ones aren't working. What do I do, or what do I have to have in order to click and high light the address? I tried sending links as well and can't get them sent so others can click on them and open it as well. I've used the insert link box and it hasn't worked. I could do this on my pc I have sitting over there collecting dust but not on my IMac.
How can I set up an automatic transfer of an email message to a folder? For example, all email messages that arrive from a certain retailer that are automatically moved to a folder for that retailer?Â

I was viewing my mailboxes in a column on the left,then a column of the emails in my inbox then the right 2/3 of my screen showed the email massage contents. The area showing the content has disappeared and I have to double click to open an email in a separate window. I am trying to sending an email to one of my contacts groups. Some of the contacts duplicate themselves 10-15 times in the address filed whether I use to To: or BCC: field. Then, I can't delete them out of their. Only course of action is to delete the email totally. I have MAC OS X v.10.0.4
View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to Lion about a month ago. I didn't want to, but I had to to switch to iCloud which was the only way I could retain our family's six-year-old @mac.com and @me.com email addresses.Â
After working through a half dozen issues, everything seemed to finally be working smoothly. Just yesterday, though, Mac Mail stopped being able to open my iCloud email. It shows the sender, subject and the first couple lines of text in the listing of emails in the column to the left, but when I click on one or double click on one to view the entire message, I get "Loading" and a never-ending spinning wheel. Â
I have restarted everything, updated software, and repaired disk permissions. I don't want to delete the iCloud account and reinstall it because I have a couple hundred emails stored in folders residing on my machine.Â
My iCloud email works fine with my iPhone, iPad and on iCloud.com. I just can uses Mac Mail. But I access a half dozen other non-Apple email accounts-- POP and IMAP. Ironically, all the non-Apple email accounts work fine on Apple's Mac Mail.Â

I can't seem to be able to print multiple copies of a document in Leopard. I've tried 3 different network printers (2 windows printers, 1 direct IP printer) using 3 different MacBooks. All running 10.5.1. It'll print 1 copy just fine, but that's it. If you want multiple copies you have to keep sending it to the printer, which is a pain.
Can anybody try printing 2 or more copies with a local printer and see if that works? I think I may have found my first truly annoying Leopard bug
I have one IMAP email account and setup various email aliases. I used for each alias also a sender name. I tried to setup different sender email addresses and names in Apple Mail but did not succeed.
I was only able to add a comma separate list o email addresses to one account but not different sender names for each email address.
BTW, I also can't setup different accounts for each email address because they share the same IMAP Mail Server with the same account username and password.
workflow for handling multiple email accounts in Mac Mail? i am returning from Postbox (which seems to have had "Accounts" that I could organize these in) and I am not sure how to handle them in Mac Mail.
i have two websites with multiple email addresses and I have a gmail and a me.com address etc etc.
I am running OS 10.5.4. The problem is with Apple email.
I have one draft message that refuses to be deleted. When I highlight it and hit delete, it just turns grey and does not delete. I can add new drafts and delete them just fine. any ideas? I have tried clearing the user cache to no avail.
I cannot tell if this question has gone through, so please forgive the repeats. Simply put: I want to retrieve a draft email I had deleted by mistake. Please give me direction as I have tried using a few applications today, such as DevonthinkPro, and could not find any indication of drafts, just sent or inbox emails.
I Use TextEdit all the time for all sorts of things. To do lists. Notes. Customer orders. When I don't have a scratch piece of paper near me, I jot things down all the time.Â
For certain things at work, I have even pre-saved certain order forms, etc for when I get phone orders, or I need to manually place an order at work and don't have the time to use our normal point of sale.Â
apple has decided to change the TextEdit app to auto save documents by default. This has to be one of the most annoying features I have encountered in such great OS updates. I do love Mavericks, but this drives me crazy.Â
example, I open a blank order form for a certain customer and start editing it, I enter info, and may even leave it in my screen fora while. Well, next thing I know, it is saved whether I wanted it saved or not. I feel like the programmers have put this feature in because they think we needs this? Most other apps don't do this, but TextEdit does.Â
Another her annoying example, if I open a previous file that already exists, one that I want to keep, but one that I want to use as an example or just modify for a new purpose. If I start editing it without going through a new file duplication process, or exporting it as a new file, all of my previous text is lost. The app just starts saving it automatically.Â
Save As is gone. Come on! Really!?!Â
and by the way, preview has many of these similar annoying features now too. Not as bad as TextEdit, but similar.Â
I switched to Mavericks OS. Now, when I'm sending one (1) e-mail to one (1) e-mail address, for instance, I'm receiving a strange message under the outgoing mail progress bar (left bottom part of Mail finder window): "Outgoing Mails: 3 out of 3" or similar strange numbers but usually different form the number of recipients.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Now when i open the new firefox i get an error message:"Close Firefox. A copy of firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time."Ive uninstalled again, empied the trash, searched the computer for traces (at least thats what i think i did) and nothing works help!
