I am running OS 10.5.4. The problem is with Apple email.
I have one draft message that refuses to be deleted. When I highlight it and hit delete, it just turns grey and does not delete. I can add new drafts and delete them just fine. any ideas? I have tried clearing the user cache to no avail.
I cannot tell if this question has gone through, so please forgive the repeats. Simply put: I want to retrieve a draft email I had deleted by mistake. Please give me direction as I have tried using a few applications today, such as DevonthinkPro, and could not find any indication of drafts, just sent or inbox emails.
After updating to Mac OS X 10.7.3 (and continues with 10.7.4), after sending an email it remains in the draft folder and I need to delete it manually.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can see my messages, but cannot create a new message or reply to any messages. When I try nothing happens, then Mail freezes all together and usually crashes. I was able to get into my Mail settings and everything looks ok as far as I can tell. My software is completely up to date now (unfortunately).

Mail saves multiple draft copies of the same email. Every few seconds, a new draft is saved, displaying a few more words. How can I prevent this from happening?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Snow Leopard. An odd behavior has recently appeared. On some (but not all) occassions, when I send an email from an IMAP account, after the email is sent successfully (confirmed by a copy in the Sent mailbox), a second copy appears in the Draft mailbox. Â
The account is a gmail account (but @plessthan.com rather than gmail.com). Â
Of note, about a month ago (well before this started happening), I converted from POP to IMAP. To do this, I set up a new IMAP account in Mail, then rendered the POP account inactive.Â

How do I delete old email addresses from Mac Mail that are no longer in the address book? I have deleted peoples old addresses from the address book application, yet when I start typing their name in the "to" line, all these old addresses still show up and get in the way of going right to their latest and current email address.

I delete all of my Sent, Deleted emails when I quit mail. I did a search within Spotlight with my one friends that I email a lot, put his name in, and up popped 162 emails that I had sent to him since March 2008. How can these emails be deleted so they don't show up in Spotlight? Should I uncheck the boxes that say Store, messages on the server? Regardless, this would not cause the emails to show up/not show up within Spotlight on my Mac, would it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently decided to install and run Thunderbird as my new email client. I would occasionally go back to Mail to view earlier emails. This could be a bit of a nuisance though since Mail insisted on updating itself and downloading all the mail that had arrived for my account since I last opened the application. I thought the way to stop this so I could search my old Inbox in peace was to delete my account details. I didn't realise this would also delete the Inbox. Does anyone know whether/if/how I can recover this old mail. Simply reentering my old account details was not enough to 'restore' the old Inbox.

If the message has jpeg photos I can view, but when forwarding the jpeg is deleted and the message "missing plug-in" appears in its place. I am an educator and my school system "upgraded" their Exchange Server and subsequently put Outlook on my computer. I configured Mail to pop over from Outlook, but now, I can't delete an email sent to my school email account without opening up Outlook and deleting it....it just keeps reappearing in my inbox. The problem is not the same on my iPhone or iPad, just on my MacBook Pro. So, I go for several days while the emails pile up, then open up Outlook and delete them one by one when I can't stand it anymore. Also, when Outlook is open, my computer runs at about 1/2 speed...everything slows and bogs down. Can I just delete Outlook from my computer?

I have never set up Time Machine on my Macbook Pro.I have several Mailbox's or Folders inside my email system or Mac Mail.I wanted to clear some of the less used folders out and so I exported them to another folder on my desktop.Then I deleted the folders or Mailbox's from inside the Email system or Mac Mail.When I went to the folder on the desktop to see the exported emails, there was nothing you could read, it was all jibberish or crazy characters. What did I do wrong and how can I retrieve those important saved emails?

I have a strange one here. When I am using my Apple Mail program, It goes out ok, but still appears in my draft box. Not every mail does it , however a lot them do. How do I know they are going out? I am talking to the person I am sending something to, and they said they got it fine. But I look in my drafts box and there it sits. Right now I have 3 in there that I sent today. This is happening with my .mac account. Any ideas before I call Apple Support?
