For the last week I find that after sending an email with attachments that it remains in my draft box after sending. The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

Yesterday mail worked fine. Today I keep getting a dialog box with
The SMTP server “p99-smtp.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user "xxxxxx".
Although I have not altered any of the settings overnight etc, I put in my password - no joy.
This has happened on both my iMac and my Macbookair. I can send email from my iphone and from my mail account when I log into iCloud via Safari.
What's happening & how do I fix it? This is so annoying as I haven't changed anything overnight. I'm using OSX 10.7.3

If I create an email that is saved as a draft while I'm still writing the email, when it finally sends Mail doesn't delete the email from the drafts folder.
I only use MobileMe in Mail, so I'm not sure if this is a problem with MobileMe or with Mail. It happens periodically on both my MacBook and iMac.
Suddenly Mail has stopped sending emails. Connection Doctor says server is 'offline' and I should ensure passwords and settings are correct. But I changed NOTHING - it just suddenly stopped sending and receiving!
I'm using a late 2012 iMac and a Retina MacBook Pro, both with very latest OS - same problem on both. I've restarted my TimeCapsule and BT HomeHub

How do I turn this feature off? If I have a message in the middle of being composed, and click Get Mail, off the draft message goes whether I'm ready to send this or not. This is an old issue, and generally I just try to remember not to check mail when I have a message in progress. But I can't find a screen anywhere in Mail Prefs to turn this feature off. In other words, I only want mail to send messages when I the Send paper airplane icon, not in response to my checking incoming messages. I'm running OS 10.5.8 and Mail v. 3.6 (936).
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I wake Lion out of sleep, mail frequently does not find new messages from my aol account. Even if I hit "Find Mail", the new emails do not show up. Maybe an hour or more later they will finally come through
These mails are showing up no problem under notifications on my iPad & iPod touch.
If I restart mail, it finds the messages immediately .me works fine, gmail also Idle is on & it is set to check every minute

If I send a msg from Apple Mail to i.e. Outlook Express. The same msg shows up with "clean" text formating. That will say, no formatting at all. See this screen: [URL:...] I have just gotten back to the Mac now from 10-11 months in hell with Windows-stuf, so I am really eager to get this fixed. In Apple Mail the same message looks this: [URL:...] I dont want to change to Entourage, so excellent if you can help me out with this.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI currently have an issue with Mail 5.2 in which mail I compose and send is placed in the drafts folder and not sent. I have spent hours on the phone with my ISP and have been unable to resolve the issue. ISP has told me all settings are correct. I can receive e-mail on the account I just can't seem to get it to send. Checked my router (Time Capsule) and all ports are fine. I am also running my own mail server on Lion Server. The Lion server account is IMAP and sends/recieves e-mail no problem. My ISP account is POP and uses no authentication.

I had approximately 15 draft emails. They were stored on computer, i.e. the setting "Store draft messages on server" was NOT checked. I re-used those messages often in my business. I am on Mail version 5.2 (1257) and Lion 10/7
Suddenly the whole folder disappeared.
None of the draft messages are in my email account on the server - and they are all gone (deleted?) from on the computer. In other words, I currently see none of my long and quite important Drafts anywhere.Is there any other way to find these drafts and bring them back?

I have a peculiar problem to which I have been unable to find a solution, despite searching far and wide on the Internet.
I access my company's microsoft exchange server email account through mail.app on my mac. In setting up this account, everything was detected easlity and I can send and receive mail without any issue, except one:
When I send an email, my name, in the From field, gets stripped as it gets sent. If I keep the mail as draft, I can see my email address in the From field, but when I finally send the email, that field gets stripped and is now blank.
So now, when I go back and look into my "sent" folder, the from field is blank.
This does not happen when I send email, via the same exchange account, from my iphone or ipad, only mail.app does this. This also does not happen when I send email through my yahoo or gmail account via mail.app.
I have two accounts on mail. When I send it through my business account it shows that it is going thru this account (at the bootom I select that it on my business account) but when I receive the e-mail it goes back to my hotmail account? Why is it switching over and how I can I get it to send with my business account?

I can go straight to gmail and access my account using same password. but not through Apple mail. On one occasion a box popped up saying that the certificate of authentication was not valid and that I may be being directed to another site?I have other email addresses that it is still downloading fine, but they aren't with Gmail. I also download my mail to my i-pod touch and that is still working fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI constantly use Mail to send and receive emails on my MacBook.On it I have three email 'accounts' - my me.com address (for formal emails to work, banks etc.), my "junk" address (for spam, gaming etc.) and my "home" address (for personal emails and everything else).When typing an email, if I choose to send it from a different account than the one I originally selected, I can just change it in the 'From' pop-down menu (under the 'To', 'Cc', 'Bcc' and 'Subject' fields).Recently though, for some reason when I want to send an email from my "home" address, it sends it from my "junk"one instead, even if I am sending it 'From' my "home" address.It still has my "home" address' signature, and not every time it does send from my "junk" one instead - rather it seems to send from both as it feels up to.This bothers me quite a bit, especially when I send an important email using my "home" address but it sends from my "junk" - both confusing and annoying me and the recipients.This only just started happening to me this past week.

I have been sending duplicate emails inadvertently recently. It seems it's when I use mBox for mac (registered copy) in Mail to use my Hotmail with IMAP.I hadn't noticed it at first, but now I see every time I send a mail I get 2 copies in my sent box. I can turn off the store sent messages on server option to fix it (but that's the whole point of having IMAP!). Or I can turn off mBox for mac and it also seems to work (but then I can't use IMAP!).
I've also tried on the same machine from gmail, and iCloud accounts (MobileMe), and I had no issue at all.I've also tried 2 different Hotmail accounts, and both of them send double messages every time I send.I think anyone still using a hotmail account will eventually install something like mBox for mac if they've gone Mac recently - as I have. I checked the mail headers of the 2 mails, and they are quite different (masked where appropriate) -

Outgoing e-mails not going. Problem developed yesterday but has occurred now and then since I upgraded from Snow Leopard to 10.9.3. In the past the problem has mysteriously solved itself after a few days. I would like to know what causes it and how to solve it right away.
Incoming emails arrive all right.
My provider, Suddenlink recommended changing my outgoing server but that made no difference, so I have gone back to the settings that do work most of the time.
When I went to Suddenlink's web address (www.suddenlink.net) and opened my e-mail account there, I could send and receive, but I would like to work with Mail rather with Suddenlink's POP.

I have a strange one here. When I am using my Apple Mail program, It goes out ok, but still appears in my draft box. Not every mail does it , however a lot them do. How do I know they are going out? I am talking to the person I am sending something to, and they said they got it fine. But I look in my drafts box and there it sits. Right now I have 3 in there that I sent today. This is happening with my .mac account. Any ideas before I call Apple Support?

I tried to send an email to almost 300 recipients through Mail. For whatever reason (not important to me for these purposes) the message cannot send on the server it attempted to use.The message itself remains on my desktop, with a dropdown error message over it. Here's the problem: due to the number of recipients, the dropdown menu goes beyond the lower end of the monitor.
When I view the message in Mission Control I can see that there are options at the bottom of the error message like Edit Message, Try Later, and Try Selected Server, but I cannot click on any of those to try any of them. Also, Tab seems to have no effect on what button is highlighted, and Try Selected Server remains the active choice. If I press return it will try the same server that did not work and then the message remains. I have also tried going into the Outbox and deleting the message but that doesn't work either.

Recently, my Apple Mail has been sending from two to six copies of email, timed to the same minute. I've taken to using Thunderbied (which I don't prefer) to avoid it. My theory is that if I can reload Lion it might cure it, but since Lion only comes as a download, I don't know how.

I just started having a problem where I send messages from Mail and they stay in the drafts folder. They also appear in the sent messages folder.
I am using Mail in Tiger on a brand new iMac. The mail service is from .Mac.
I spent quite some time preparing an email.
Then I had to restart Firefox to install an update.
I forgot about the email, probably thinking it would ask me if I wanted it saved.
It's gone.
Is there any way I can recover it?
I'm having trouble with my Apple Mail program. I have a number of e-mail accounts (some with Optimum online, a g-mail, yahoo, etc.) Apple Mail has no problem at all reading and downloading any mail from any of the services. My problem is with Optimum Mail (Optonline.net). Mail refuses to send anything through that set-up. I've been on the phone for hours with Optimum and the settings are all correct. I've tried connecting directly to the cable modem and mail gets sent. This would make me believe that it is the Apple Airport Extreme router that is at fault. I've tried restarting it, re-initializing it and setting it up again and the problem continues. All my Optimum mail is picked up and can be read but it will not send anything through Optimum. It asks if I want to send it through another server (like g-mail or yahoo) and if I pick yes the mail sends.
It happens on all my computers a G-3 and pre Intel iMac G-5 on Tiger and my Macbook on Leopard.
Anyone else hear of this problem? Both Apple support and Optimum online say they have never heard of it. Talking for hours with their tech departments have found no solutions.
im running leopard and its showing 1 draft that never got sent (that i wrote when i was on tiger). whenever i hit delete on the message, it turns grey but doesnt actually remove itself and i still have the little 1 badge to the right of the draft mailbox on the left. i went into my ~/Library/Mail/email account/Drafts/Mailbox and deleted the message but its still showing in Mail and its driving me insane. Does anyone know how to get this damn thing to disappear? ive repaired permissions but im just lost right now.
I have several drafts in my draft box, but cannot get to them. When I select the box, nothing shows up. It says there are 32 in there. This has been going on for a few weeks, so its nothing new, just that I need to get to a couple of those drafts to find info I was going to send to customers.
I've tried rebuilding, but it won't let me select that. I've tried reading the posts, but haven't found anything that matches what is going on with my problem.
I'm using a powerbook g4 with leopard, current on updates. Thanks for any help.
I recently upgraded to OS X Yosemite. Now in mac mail when I have duplicate drafts I am not able to expand them. In one of my folders I have 2 email drafts, but it says that I have 16.
Before updating to Yosemite I was able to see how many nested copies of each draft, and was able to expand them to select/edit them individually. Now I cannot see which of these drafts have been copied, and expand them.
