I'm looking for a way, either shortcut or app, that will enable me to be able to send/switch open applications between screens.
In Windows-land, I use an application called Ultramon, and what this gives me is a keyboard shortcut that will move the foreground application window over to my other screen.
Does anyone know of a way of acheiving this on my Mac ?
I need to be able to toggle my primary display between two monitors connected to my Mac Mini. I know that this is normally done by the following:Display Preference Pane -> Arrangement -> Drag the menu bar to the monitor your want as primary I'm looking for a hotkey or keyboard shortcut to toggle this more quickly. My graphics apps have to bind to the primary, but I also need to send full-screen output to the primary display, thus blocking the menu bar and dock.

For example, I want to have a safari window open and a word document open so that one half of the screen is showing safari and the other half is word. I know I can resize them manually but I was wondering if there is a shortcut or a third party utility that resizes any open windows to fit the entire screen? This would be useful, for example, with the new 27 inch iMacs where the wide screen can easily display three (or more) windows side by side utilizing the entire screen area; having them resized automatically would be more productive than having to resize them manually.

Right now the shortcut on my Danish MBP is CMD+< (the button right to the left shift button), but I would rather have it to be something like CMD+$ (button over the tap button).
So this is a new thing that started happening, and has got me stumped. When I hit Apple key+N in Safari, a new browser window will open, I will be switched to the Finder, and a new window in the Finder will open up. This new window in the Finder is the Computer window, the one listing the HD, the network icon, and any attached disks. It is not the same window I would get by hitting Apple+N while in the Finder. Only seems to do this while in Safari.

I have checked multiple support sites, and all indicate the same shortcut. I even tried "adding" the shortcut in the "Application Shortcuts" screen in Preferences.

I've got a 2.4 GHz unibody MacBook running boot camp, and I'd like to have my new 24" LED Cinema Display set as the primary display so that, when I play games, the system recognizes that the resolution can, indeed, go higher than 1280x800.
However, when I right click and hit Properties to see desktop settings and stuff, right clicking on the Cinema Display shows that "Primary" is grayed out; it seems that I can not set it as the primary display.
Does anybody have a solution to this? I'd rather not use the nVIDIA settings to turn off the MB display and only use the LED display, as I'd like to be able to have AIM and a web browser open on the MB screen while I game on the LED display. I suppose if this is not possible under Dual View atm, I'll make do, but I figured I'd check first.
I send and email in mail, 10.5.7, the attachment does not appear when I send to windows machines and on web mail even with a mac. When I send to a mac it works just fine
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried re-installing and updating every possible graphics related driver for Windows 7 i cannot for love or toffee get the bloody thing to even recognize my display. I am using a 26" tv as an external display, it works on OS X (very easily), windows XP (also very easily) and even Vista (also easily) and connecting through a DVI/HDMI connector. Why not windows 7? I've scoured the web for answers but can't find anything. Is anyone at least in the same boat as me? I really need this solved soon

If I simply drag my web browser over to my second monitor, a 28" 1920x1200 monitor hooked to the mini displayport, it displays PERFECT gradients.
I have installed Windows 7 on a Bootcamp partition and use VM Fusion as well, I am trying to get my Windows 7 desktop onto my Plasma TV when I have only Windows 7 booted.
I have a mini displayport to DVI adapter (not worried about sound right now) but when boot into Windows I cannot find the TV as a output setting.
It used to be with my old PC I would see the TV as a possible output and I could chose either Dualscreens or simply set the Plasma as the main display.
Could someone please help me achieve this with my iMac? Am I missing a driver or just missing a setting?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i gave a friend of mine a hand with his 2009 27" i7 iMac by installing Windows 7 for him. Unfortunatly for some reason after you get through all the meat of the install and it restarts to finish off and ask for personal information but here's the problem. The display is showing nothing! You can hear the fans are on and booting into mac is fine but I can't get any farther with the Windows 7 installation because i can't see anything! I know the disc works because I installed from it the night before.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUnder 10.6.8, it has been my habit (and pleasure) to open very wide terminal windows across as many as three displays in order to see the results of somewhat wide database queries without text wrapping, which affects readability and cuts the number of lines visible on the display window at once.
Under 10.9.3, when I adjust a window over towards another display so that the window would be on both displays, the window is "ghosted" until I let go of the drag bar, and if the move has not fully adjusted the window to land entirely on the display it is moving into, that half of the window promptly disappears.
Am I missing something about window positioning under Mavericks? Or, is there any way to regain the previous, multi-display-friendly window handling in Mavericks?
