View 3 RepliesI am trying to send two images as attachments to a user on a Windows machine. The attachments are appearing in-line in the body of the email and do not show as attachments on Windows. I am attaching the 2 images by clicking the paper clip on the new mail message and browsing to the image location to select them. I am selecting both images and they appear in-line in my outgoing message and as attachments. I have checked the 'Send Windows Friendly' box. The Windows recipient can only see the in-line images.

E-mail software: Microsoft Entourage. Now, after two years without trouble, I unable to send e-mail with attachment up to 190 kb. All that over 190 kb and text message I able to send. And receive all (with or without attachment).
I have tried with many mail software, like Thunderbird (and others by third parts). I have tried with different SMTP. I have tried to reinstall the connection with Network Control. The connection with my Internet Provider is ok. The email (with or without attachment up to 190 kb) from my PC with Outlook, can run (same connection of Mac). Web mail is ok. Internet connection is ok. I tried a lot ways to resolve, but I failed.
I just bought a imac and I'm trying to send a picture as an attachment. I showes up in the body of the email. How do I get it to be just an attachment like on a computer?

When I send a photo as an attachment in Windows, it appears on the other end as an attachment, not as an actual image in the preview window. Is there a way to make Mac Mail function similarly? I can't seem to find it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedUsing Mail 5.2, on OS 10.7.3, and have icloud paid storage ($40 plan; 25 gb total storage). Using icloud mail server, the server times out when I'm sending emails with attachments. Any attachment of 20-something kb gets me an outgoing message action bar with the horizontal blue meter slowly counting out the kb per second until it times about about 60 seconds later and I get a mail message telling me "Cannot send message using the server... icloud. Sending the message content to the server failed."
What is going on? I'm making an assumption that icloud server is limiting this. (I should say my internet service provider is verizon, and I know that they limit the kb I can send electronically. When I tried to send a simple 33 kb email w/ attachment I did get a different message saying verizon wouldn't let me send because it was over their data limit of 25kb per email.) My belief was that if I was using the FREE icloud I was limited to some smal kb, but I'm a paying customer. Doesn't this get me something like 250 kb of data sending?
I need to be able to send reasonable amounts of data from my computer by email. (Note, I've compressed the files - which only saved 2 kb.)

I have a MacBook and for the past couple months I can not send any emails with an attachment because my computer tells me " your attachment contains a virus and can not be sent" I have tried sending a word document through my gmail, my hotmail, and even my mac email and it tells me the same thing. I don't know how to solve this problem. My screen also flickers all the time. I have spoken to apple tech support and they didn't know what to tell me. I could use any advice as to how to solve this problem, or what virus software to download.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am having issues sending attachments through my Gmail mac mail. The file I tried to send was only 23kb so I know that it was not over the limit. It sat there in the outbox for about 15 seconds and then said it cannot send it on the server. It has done this to me before with larger files that still should have been sent.
I go to my Yahoo account and it sends the same files with ease..
Until have till now just used fileflow to send pictures, cause when attaching them to mail - it just seems to stick into the mail- and hard to get out for pc users - And if they manage - the filesize seems to have been scaled down.
pdf - ai - psd etc works perfect as attachments. but jpg - no !
also when i try to show the icon - i get claims from my recipients...
Does anyone have a smart advice for me to get full scale jpgs as full readable attachements, no matter who recieves it ?
Since December, for some reason, I can no longer send attachments (i.e. Word docs) through my Hotmail account. I had been using Safari, but have also tried using Firefox without success. I can send attachments through my Yahoo account, but I prefer to use Hotmail as this is my main account.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm unable to send attachments using a either of my 2 Gmail IMAP accounts, one @gmail.com and the other is a business email (ie not a @gmail address). I can send them with no problem via my studio Mac Pro, but my MacBook Pro won't even attempt to send the attachment, with the email popping up saying it Cannot send message using the server.
At first I thought it was because I had Gmail's 2-step authenticaion but again, I've never had problems sending attachments from my Mac Pro. If I log on to my webmail, I can send with no problem on the laptop.
I've removed the account in Mail on my MBP and readded it to Mail with no joy. Does anyone know what could be causing it? I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out why! My MobileMe account can send attachments, though the Mail seems to constantly forget the MobileMe passwords which is also really annoying!
i am new to mac and have a new desk top. I can not attach or send attachments in mail...no problem receiving them. I am using my aol and gmail accounts in mail. If go directly to gmail i have no problems sending attachments.

Just recently i sent an email (yahoo mail) attachment to my friend.She got the email but when she opened the attachment it loaded and was blank, with nothing there.I think she has a window computer, if that helps.I sent it to myself. As of yesterday my Mac will no longer send or receive emails that have attachments on them. It doesn't matter the size or format of the attachment, nothing happens. It shows as Sent but it doesn't get to the recipient and I can't receive either.

Each time I try to do this, I choose the "actual size" option in iphoto, but I'm told by repients that the photos come through in lower resolution than I sent them and they were imbedded not attached.
There must be a way to send high reolution, suitable for reporduction, photos. After all Apple is said to be super in graphics. All the tutorials, even my "One to One" guru give instructions for imbedding the photos.

How can I send a series of photos as jpeg attachments so they are displayed as individual jpeg filenames, just as with "doc" files? Some recipients have trouble in isolating individual photos when my Mac only sends them as pictures.

Question: Is it possible to control my Windows machines at home with my MBP while at work (two different places) via VNC?
'd like to run Win 7 on virtualization software, but not sure of the best way to back up, as I've been reading a lot about how Time Machine (unless you configure it not to) will save the VM folder as one large file, which of course could make the back up tens of GBs and bloat a drive quickly. I'm planning to connect an external HDD partitioned for both Time Machine (for incremental backups) and Superduper(for more easily bootable restore).
VMware Fusion (for instance) recommends backing up within the VM itself. But this alone doesn't seem like a good strategy for catastrophic failure of a HDD.
I'm the only mac user on a network full of windows machines (Mostly windows 7 but one with XP) but I cannot see a single one on my iMac running 10.6.2. I found a guide on here about changing settings on your windows 7 box, which I followed but I still cannot see the machine on my network. Nor can any windows machines see my iMac on them.
I think it might be a port issue, are there any ports which I need to open on my router? I have an O2 Wireless Box III (A rebranded thompson router)
