Today, i've been searching about the history of computer viruses and i found a website that made Safari 3.2.1 freeze with an infinite beach ball so i had to force quit it. My Safari has AdBlock enabled and for security reasons i deleted all my cookies.
When I try to look at the website listed below safari crashes. If I use firefox I can view it. [URL] I have a MacBook Pro 15", Intel Core Duo, 1.83 GHz, 2GB RAM,
In Safari whenever looking for a specific web site, other web sites on the background start to erupt and show up, which I never look for, which has become so annoying. I tried to change the Privacy settings, but all in vain.

i've used automator for very simple projects, like batch resizing, batch renaming and the like. however, what i'd really like to do is set up system where at a pre-appointed time every day, my computer visits a newspaper website, downloads the digital edition as a pdf (there is a clickable link to do this), then uploads said pdf onto my idisk. then all i need to do is download it on my iPad. that i can manage! am i able to do this with automator? am i able to do this at all?
When I visit websites, I constantly have to hit the zoom in button in the Safari menu bar. If I don't do this, there are words that overlap on the page. Is there a way I could make Safari remember my zoom options? I have 18 point selected under the Advanced section of Safari System Preferences. I also use Chrome and Chrome seems to remember my view options.

just got my imac last week and i am using a wifi router (netgear) to connect to the internet. certain websites will make safari freeze. i can still quit safari, but once i try to open it up again it cannot connect. i check my network preferences and it finds my network, i try to connect but no luck. i know ive got the right password and everything, and once i restart the machine it automatically finds and connects to my network and im good to go again until it freezes and i go through the process again. ive called apple and gotten no working solution. they told me to reset safari and clear caches which i have done and that hasnt helped. looking for any advice you've got. also, i was thinking about picking up an airport router. could that possibly solve my problem? is it possible that the imac doesnt communicate well with the netgear router?
So my brother's iMac G5 (the original with the obnoxious loud fan) seems to freeze up a lot. We're trying to figure it out. While messing around in Safari, iTunes, iMovie, etc... it will freeze. The only solution is to hold the power button and shut it down. Upon restarting sometimes he will just get the grey screen of death. Nothing happens. Again force shut down and restart. He also will get the spinning beach ball of death where he can't force quit anything. Boils down to a frozen system and the only way to get out of it is to force shut down.We have run DU and hardware test (From the DVD) and everything passes. So we reinstalled 10.4.11 hoping that would clear the issue. Nope. It still freezes up. So I'm wondering is it a hardware issue? He does have some external LACIE HDDs hooked up but not sure if that could cause any issues.
So often, when I'm working with Firefox or Safari (mostly Firefox), my computer will come seconds away from crashing. It'll pause with the rainbow wheel twirling around, but if I have something like even Skype open or photoshop, I can still work in those. I've had to close Firefox a FEW times, at LEAST, in the last little while because of this.
Why is Firefox acting so WEIRD?! I've even uninstalled it and installed a new version! Why isn't it getting fixed? Is there a better program that won't do this on my brand new laptop with Leopard 10.5 OSX?
I bought my MacBook Pro 13" 2.4 GHz in late April (new version). I have no added third party software. Everything worked fine until I did the Safari 5 update. Then web pages would freeze when opening for about 3-5 seconds. Then the page would finish opening.
I have also updated OS X to 10.6.4 after this started happening. It did not correct the problem. I experienced this at several locations, including the Apple store when doing one-to-one classes, so I know it's not a problem with my ISP.
I don't know what it is [URL]. For some reason, Safari won't cache any of the images. It works fine in Firefox. Most other sites seem to cache fine. What the heck is going on?
I have a Windows Desktop PC, Windows Laptop and an iMac plus Macbook Pro, on the desktop pc Safari will not open [URL], yet on my Windows Laptop it will! Both are the same version of Safari, I have uninstalled and re installed Safari with no joy.
Does anyone know how to do a clean uninstall of Safari on Windows, because I think that may solve it.
This happened this morning. I did not open the mail application. I was checking email via web mail in the Camino browser, clicked on a link to a NY Times blog, it went to the blog and I got a notification sound. Mail had opened. But I use Thunderbird as my default, and Camino is set up for that. I quit Mail, got out of that window, dumped the cache in Camino, quit Camino and ran ClamXav. No viruses or malware were detected.
I'm concerned about having an app open up on its own. I don't have any calendars synced to Mail. Does anyone have any ideas about why this would have happened, or what else I should do to ensure that everything is ok? I apologize if someone has addressed this, or if it is in the wrong place. I did a search and couldn't come up with anything.
A site that I visit regularly has recently started giving me an error whenever I try to access it. I can get there just fine using the latest Firefox. I've tried emptying the cache and resetting Safari to no avail.
This is my first post, thanks in advance for any help. Hope I can explain correctly. I don't think my site [URL]actually ever had malware. I (not knowing better) placed a small *.exe file on my site via ftp just to transfer it from home to work. Anyway I think it caused me to get listed with google as having malware etc. (even though it was no type of dangerous file). I registered with googles webmaster tools, deleted it off my site and requested they re-scan it. Well that seams to have worked and all is fine except with Safari. I am still getting the malware notice with Safari only. I have cleared history, emptied the cache, deleted cookies and reset safari. Still getting the message. Sometimes I can open the site fine then click home and it pops up again. I really think my site is completely fine but I cant figure out why its still doing this with Safari. Needless to say this is terrible for business.
Safari (version 5.4.1 and earlier) cannot open the blog on the website[URL]. The webmaster tells me he uses Wordpress for that blog. Is this a known Safari problem (Firefox and Opera open the blog) and if so is there a solution to correct this ? I use an iMac running on Lion.
After the Safari 5.1.4 update, I'm unable to access one particular site, the one that used to be my homepage. Trying to access it causes the browser and OS to freeze up for several minutes. Can't force quit or close. I'm able to access my other 'regular' sites.
The On Line banking website I use, once signed in will not display any account info. It just freezes the screen and I have to exit out - the Bank says it is the latest version of Safari issue but - what could cause this web page freeze?
I have a physician who is trying to logon to a website for his dictations but it autofills his logon information.. He has Autofill checked but unchecked it and it still loads logon information and he cannot change it. He is using a Macbook
Please Help me! Pandora Radio will not load on my Safari browser no matter how much i shut down and what not, I want to reset it but i can't find where to do it!
I tried to link to some websites (example: battle.net) that I was able to link to but failed. It said it cannot open the page because it cannot link to the server. All my other websites are fine.
all of a sudden this mackeeper website keeps opening in safari. It opens even when I click to go to a different web page.I close the window, a new one is always popping up. I want to know if there is a way to permanently get rid of this/stop this from happening? Is it a virus? Should I take my laptop in to get this problem fixed?
