I tried to link to some websites (example: battle.net) that I was able to link to but failed. It said it cannot open the page because it cannot link to the server. All my other websites are fine.

I've been having problems with downloading programmes in general. When I hit a download link, the page refreshes, but no download window appears, and nothing happens. I did have a look this morning & there was a suggestion about something I think was called speeddownloader which I looked for but couldn't see it. I am new to MAC's. This problem happens on both safari & Firefox so you can imagine my frustration! My system is 1 t.b. 21.5 inch screen 4gb memory Mac OS X Version 10.6.4.

i use silverlight to watch instant netflix but i didn't know it is such a memory hog. i should have noticed that when i watch instant netflix on one window and browsing regularly on the other that the movie would hiccup each time i click on a link in a website or each time i visit a new web page. it doesn't slow down the computer or anything to make it unusaeable. but, i am concerned of the page outs since i don't want my harddrive to work overtime. is this something i have to live with?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWIth using 2 desktop iMacs, we are both getting messages that 'Safari can't verify the identity of the website' or we get a message that the website cannot be found. Earlier today it could not find Apple Support Discussions. It does open some pages, but slowly. We use Airport Express, in between the iMacs, and have not had this problem before. I read on another site that I can power down the router. Â
What will happen if I unplug the Airport Express?  Do I loose my settings?  Also, what causes this issue?  It appears that other Mac users are reporting it now too. If unplugging is an answer, is there any specific order? Also, is there a way to turn off AIrport Express first, and should I do that?Â

About a week ago, we accidentally installed what we think is a bad version of a flash player when attempting to register a rewards card. We un-installed the software as soon as we realized it was not the correct website for the rewards card. Since then, we are getting a flashing pop-up ad in the right column of the browser as well as a video window that pops-up from left bottom of browser and then multiple windows in Safari will just open.

When I'm on Facebook or any other site that people post links:Â I click on the link, a new Safari window opens, and after 15-20 seconds I get a "failed to open page" prompt that states:Â

I decided to try safari 3 again after I got Leopard, I like it except for one thing, some links will open in a new window that in other browsers would open in a new tab. is there any way to make Safari do this by default without having to command click on the links?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on a link on any web page, a "bubble" travels across the screen and "enters" the history icon. I then have to open History to find the link and then click on it. It then moves to a tab under the bookmarks bar and I have to click on that in order to open the link. This problem started suddenly today, several weeks after I upgraded to OS X Lion. Everything was fine before. My Safari is version 5.1.3.

Visited link colors in Safari, most notably visited Google links when I return to the search page, don't change colors as they used to do. Actually, I think it's been that way for a long time (years) now but I am just now coming back around to being interested in why and if there is a way to get back to the days where new links were BLUE and visited links were GREEN (or whatever color you wanted).Is this still possible with the new Safari and if so, how do you go about setting this visted link color preference?

Copy Link: I noticed the loss of this menu when my wife wanted me to look at web pages she had found related to a possible holiday. Using Safari in her account on our iMac, I found no menu appeared when I right-clicked on a link. I checked she had the "secondary button" set up OK in the mouse preferences and I also found right-clicking worked OK elsewhere. I then tried other ways of making the menu appear on a link (CTRL-clicking or holding down the left, primary button); neither worked!................
my brother installed some kind of plug in called tenshisTV to be able to watch a streaming video of ufc today without my knowledge
i uninstalled it. ever since then i am unable to open new tabs, commant+t doesnt work, and neither does going to file > new tab does not work either.
also when i right click on links, the option to "open link in new tab" has also disappeared
how do i fix this?
I have Mac OS 10.4.11, and Safari 3.2.1. Safari crashes if I try to Cmd-click a link to get it to open in a new tab or right-click a bookmark and choose to open it in a new tab or a new window. It did not do that before I got the Safari update. I also cannot seem to get any content into more than 3 tabs without it crashing. Is there any way to fix it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Does anyone know how to do a clean uninstall of Safari on Windows, because I think that may solve it.

Lately, when viewing my site in Safari I've found that the pointing finger cursor will not show when I hover over a text link in a Flash object.
Curiously this only occurs with some of the links.
The arrow cursor shows and the link still works. The finger shows up on all the lnks using Firefox so it seems to be a Safari/Flash problem.Â

A site that I visit regularly has recently started giving me an error whenever I try to access it. I can get there just fine using the latest Firefox. I've tried emptying the cache and resetting Safari to no avail.

Today, i've been searching about the history of computer viruses and i found a website that made Safari 3.2.1 freeze with an infinite beach ball so i had to force quit it. My Safari has AdBlock enabled and for security reasons i deleted all my cookies.
