I am noticing some strange behaviour in the way Apple Mail handles attachments. If you create a new email, type some text, drag an image in your email, type some more text below the email, Apple Mail will attach the image as well as the text below the image as attachments. While this does work properly with other Apple Mail users, this is problematic when sending emails to users of other mail clients (I tested with Microsoft Outlook Web Access; the same happens in Microsoft Outlook itself). Users of other mail clients will then receive an email, containing only the text you typed above the image, while the text you typed below the image will be attached to your mail as a separate attachment. Basically breaking your email. Looking at the RAW email content you can indeed clearly see Apple Mail has cut up the email into seperate attachments. Is there any way to resolve this issue? I read somewhere about a property 'SendWindowsFriendlyAttachments' in com.apple.mail.plist, however that property is not present any more (Apple Mail 3.2). Some images to illustrate the issue: How you compose the email in Apple Mail (3.2): How a recipient will receive the email.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOne of the email lists that I subscribe to frequently contains messages with images. It's a moderately high volume list with 20-30 messages per day. Inevitably, a few of those messages with attached images (according to the paperclip icon in the messages list) will arrive with no headers and no raw data. The display of the message in Apple Mail shows only the sender's name/address and the subject, nothing else such as the usual warning, "This message contains no content."
The people who run the mailing list don't think that the problem is on their end so is there a way to correct it.

Does the apple mail app (Mac) save all its content on your hard disk, or on a server just like for example when going to gmail.com ?

This is how it is suppose to look like (FireFox):

In Lion, there is this insipid wobbling of the page's view (programmer terms, I know) when the page has no scroll bars (scrolling set to always on) and you use the magic mouse's center point to finger scroll up. The "view" scrolls away from the top left corner to display nothing, then snaps back. As I am a leftie and I EXPECT the scrolling to STOP AT THE END OF THE SCROLL REGION, how do I burn this setting to NEVER EVER DO THIS. It is distracting and useless and irritating. this even happens witn an empty page. I never ever want my UIScrollView's content to allow the content's view pane to drag away form the edges that contain it. This didn't happen in Snow Leopard and my Mac with a 27 inch screen and a 17 inch screen is not an iOS device. Is there a pList setting for Safari that will allow the UIScrollView.bounces to = 0 or UIScrollView.elasticty = 0? Can I edit the Framework header in /Library/Frameworks to set the default to NEVER for all epplications? I can't use Lion with this is happening all the time I mistakenly trigger a scroll with my middle finger using the Magic mouse. Â

it seems for me that Safari 4 is very slow at loading content. Most of the time, i am on broadband, but when i go over my limit, i get shaped to a much slower speed. (Typical Australia ISP!)
I noticed that while Safari loads a page, on the bottom toolbar, it says....
Loading "Website" completed # of #.
for example, on "ninemsn.com.au" it can take me quite a while for the page to load, as Safari does not load the content until ALL or most of the content has been downloaded.
is there a way/plugin for safari 4 to load content AS SOON as its been downloaded? I would like to see my pages load immediately as soon as the content has been loaded.
When I log into my user and go on the BBC iPlayer website and click on any video, it loads perfectly fine. However, when my mum logs onto her user account she cant play any videos. The message that comes up for ANY video is 'This content doesnt seem to be working. Try again later' This message never shows up on my side of the computer. We have an iMac 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM,Mac OS X Lion Version 10.7.4, The newest version of Flash installed (obviously because it works on my side)The newest version of Safari installed  I have tried removing Flash from the computer then reinstaling it. I also tried repairing disk permissions through Disk Utility. I even tried deleting the Safari preferences in Library. I tried reinstalling Safari I tried installing 'click to flash' to see if it would convert it to HTML5 but that didnt work. So I deleted the extension. It will load fine in Chrome & Firefox. So we can assume with this that its a problem with my mums Safari. Â

I have about 200 Tabs open and a DSL line. Safari Web Content frequently uses near or more than 100% of my CPU time, and the computer runs dead slow.
How can I modify Web Content so that it does not refresh tabs in the background?
Maybe I can at least get a "toggle" to control when it tries to access that huge junk server at "url..." ?Right now its taking over 30 seconds to respond to clicks, and then the same sort of delay before drawing the new screen.

I purchased the ati 5770 video card upgrade in anticipation of moving my household to HD. Yes, I knw it's been out for awhile, but I had invested in DVR's and so on and wanted to get my money's worth befor addopting new technology. Anyway, poped in the card, booted up, everything is fine. Then today I get an HD video and instead of playing I get a message about my display not being compliant This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). I was all set to purchase the 27" apple display, but if it's not going to play purchased video, what's the point? If I had a mini display port monitor attached would it play? Or am I going to get the same error message?

Been trying to dl 10.6.4 combo for the past 3 days and getting max dl speeds of 40-60Kbs. All the usual suspects eliminated: cable modem, router, and traceroute to the server showed no significant lags. All other downloads normal. Sent an email to Apple yesterday, then tried the dl again today. Got this message: "Due to a scheduled upgrade of Apple's support systems, some features of the website are currently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Just brought home a brand new 13" MacBook Air. Went to the Apple website and couldn't play any videos. YouTube videos play fine, and the Apple Trailers website plays fine. It's just [URL] that won't play videos.
There are no extensions in Safari (so DivX isn't the problem). QuickTime 10 is installed. It's fresh out of the box. Haven't changed a thing. what we need to do to get videos playing from the Apple website?

I'm planning on installing Windows 7 RC via boot camp when it comes out, but I've lost the Leopard disc needed to install the drivers. Apple's website has Boot Camp Update 2.1 for Windows Vista 32. will this work, in other words, does this have all the drivers needed for the installation?
