View 8 Replies View RelatedI have all my movies and tv show on a portable 500GB external hard drive. When i watch an episode of a tv show or a movie i label it with a color so that i know that i have seen it. There are some files where when i right click a file and and go down to where the 7 colors are they are all grayed out. I am not sure if this is a bug or if certain files cant be labeled.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new iMac, its been fine, but just today I have opened Numbers and some crazy colours, like a graphics problem have flickered up onto the screen but go away pretty quick, after I have clicked on a few things and stuff.
They tend to be red, yellow and green colours from what i have seen. It has only happened since I opened Numbers, and its all up to date. (Version 1.0.3.) It also flickered up a little on iTunes while Numbers was open, where its has the time bar and song name and stuff.
Like where u go into appearance settings and it has either grey or blue.. are there any other colours? How do i get them?

I know how to change the look of the picture in "ISIGHT", but how can I put color back in certain parts of the picture. A friend helped me with a picture, and I liked it, I would like to add more color to it? Is there a pre-installed app already on any MB or MBP that is almost 2 years old. (16 months old according to coconut battery.) I'm going to keep trying on my own. I might already know, I've never tried to use photo booth on the picture yet. So if I am wrong, let me know what I need to use.

Just moved to Mavericks. My very first action is to search for my important folders with colour. Very first question why has coloured folders been removed? This makes an Apple computer much more difficult to use. Which person suggested this change and why did they do it?

I have my own iCal and one for my boss. I need our appointments to show up in different colours so that I can tell at a glance which are mine and which are his. Currently our appointments show up on the same calendar, on top of each other, and both are coloured red.
Can I change the colour of one of us?

I've been having trouble calibrating my display on my 2010 Macbook Pro with Spyder3Pro properly. The calibrated profile is much warmer unless looked perfectly straight on, which is impossible, and when the screen is tilted down it becomes a deep yellow. I've tried different ambient lighting sources and screen brightness however none of the profiles look good. Has anyone been able to properly calibrate their 2010 Macbook Pro's screen with a Spyder3Pro?
View 2 Replies View Relatednew Dell S2209W monitor to hook up to the Macbook as an external display and so far have been pretty disappointed. Sadly, it's not the monitor I'm disappointed in. First of all, a few comparison shots between the Macbook connected to S2009W and a PC connected to the S2009W:Macbook connected to Dell S2209W:PC Laptop connected to Dell S2209WSo what would you even call that effect? The colors in the shadows looked very dithered or pixelated on the Macbook, yet on the PC laptop the image looks great. Both laptops (the Macbook and PC) are running at the same, native resolution of 1920 x 1080. The wallpapers are scaled the same way on both.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI set up my Macbook to share to my lowly PC, that was fine, but now I get a bar that says Shared Folder when I access the hard drive in my macbook from my macbook. Its incredibly irritating. I tried to 'fix' it but all I did was disallow permissions to my HD and was unable to access anything, had to re-install OSX to get it to work.
I did a search of the forums, but all I got was how to set up to share a folder, I got that part working fine. This is a picture of my Macbooks hd in Finder this is frustrating me, If i was on a PC something this simple would be easy, but Im still learning the ins and outs of OSX
When zeroing out my HD, do I select the one that says "Toshiba MKxxxxxxx" or the one that says "Macintosh HD"? What is the difference?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am tearing my hair out! Apple Address book is so close to having a workable solution to mass label printing.
Does anybody know how to print address labels from a group in the address book.
I know you can create templates pages for avery labels ect but it will only allow you to print the name rather than select a "nick name"
Any new ideas? I have started to dabble in the apple scripting side of this issues so I am open to suggestions... really anything saves having to write out 3000 addresses.
I recently bought a MacBook Pro, and I used Migration Assistant to move my folders over to the new MacBook.
When I tried to label the folders by colour, however, I realised that that option is greyed out! New folders that I create can be colour labelled, but not the imported ones. How do i colour label these imported folders?
I have pages, keynote and numbers. I cant find a label maker. Wife does not wanna print right on the envelopes She want labels. I am probably missing something real easy.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with my desktop drive icons and noticed you can't give your 'Macintosh HD' partition a colored label, when I right clicked my bootcamp partition, the colored label options were available, so I gave it a color. But when I remove it, whenever the partition get's unmounted (at shutdown or manually trough disk utility), OS X throws a kernel panic. So now I have a permanent label attached to my bootcamp drive.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new iMac and am unable to use the program iDress any longer with Snow Leopard to make address labels. I guess they are no longer in business because I am unable to contact them. I am interested in address labels and know that I can do this thru AddressBook but with that program am unable to make a page of the same name address labels. (ex. my name for return labels) I also want to be able to merge with AddressBook for Christmas lists etc. Any recommendations as to a good software program. I understand that I can do this thru iWork (Pages) but haven't figured that out or found where to download the right Avery templates for the Mac.

Anyone know of a way to add a Spouse's name to a printed address label form?
I have the Spouse names listed in fields, but there doesn't seem to be an option to add that to an address label.
Do you know of a simple program that could do this upon an export of cards from Address Book?
I know I could change everyone's first name to both "first & spouse" and then change it back after I print the labels. That's the solution I found from the Apple help pages.
I was just looking at my iMac UPC label (which I need for printer rebate).
Anyways, my iMac config is:
24" / 2.66 GHz / 4 GB / 640 GB HD
and my UPC label reads:
20" / 2.66 GHz / 2 GB / 320 GB HD
Now, I called Apple, and he said it shouldn't matter, but I need the order receipt and UPC label to match, what now?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI had a Netgear before switching over to my Airport Extreme. One of the features I liked is that it let me label each address that was connected to it, instead of having to memorize each IP address or MAC address. Is there a way to do this?
Also, is there a way to block out certain MAC addresses from connecting to the internet. I only found an option to block them at certain times of the day.
