View 2 Replies View RelatedI just obtained an Ibook G4, it was my cousins, and it had crashed, so weeks later he gave up and bought a IMac. Anyway, the Ibook will turn on, boot up like normal. I had it turned on for about 10-15 minutes, and it just powers off. I had it plugged in, and it obtained about 11% battery, so I don't think it dies from battery shortage. Something I did notice, the battery charger cord, from wall to brcik is a 250V wire, while the brick it self needs about 100Volts. It isn't the cord that came with the Ibook. Could this cause the Ibook to shut down?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iBook G4 is 3 years old. I have 2 problems: My latest problem is that it won't charge the battery. I bought a new Ac Adaptor, and I used my battery and my adaptor in another G4 and it charges, but not in my computer. So I know the problem is INSIDE my computer. My father replaced the.DC-inboard when the pin off of my old charger broke off inside the computer.
2.) Now the computer won't turn on. If it does turn on it shuts off 20 seconds later.
There is no warranty, I don't know where to start with fixing it since I can't get it to stay on.!
hi little problem today my ibook just turned striaght off while i was browsing the net. it went straight off no shutdown no warning , had to remove the battery and charger then wait couple minutes before it turned on again,

I am a high school teacher and in my lab, for the first time, I have an eMac (1 GHz G4), that, when I turn it on, all that shows is a grey screen with an apple in the middle. I tried doing a "mac-boot" to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI retrofitted a Toshiba dvd/cdrw 2512 in my indigo ibook, following instructions found online. Opens fine with f12 key, and drilled hole for paperclip eject if need. Plays dvds and burns cds great (patchburn installed to burn from itunes too). But, the drive also opens when the ibook is turned on and when it comes out of sleep. Is this a glitch that can be fixed. Not a big deal but would like to have it not open if possible.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new iMac, its been fine, but just today I have opened Numbers and some crazy colours, like a graphics problem have flickered up onto the screen but go away pretty quick, after I have clicked on a few things and stuff.
They tend to be red, yellow and green colours from what i have seen. It has only happened since I opened Numbers, and its all up to date. (Version 1.0.3.) It also flickered up a little on iTunes while Numbers was open, where its has the time bar and song name and stuff.

I know how to change the look of the picture in "ISIGHT", but how can I put color back in certain parts of the picture. A friend helped me with a picture, and I liked it, I would like to add more color to it? Is there a pre-installed app already on any MB or MBP that is almost 2 years old. (16 months old according to coconut battery.) I'm going to keep trying on my own. I might already know, I've never tried to use photo booth on the picture yet. So if I am wrong, let me know what I need to use.

Just moved to Mavericks. My very first action is to search for my important folders with colour. Very first question why has coloured folders been removed? This makes an Apple computer much more difficult to use. Which person suggested this change and why did they do it?

I have my own iCal and one for my boss. I need our appointments to show up in different colours so that I can tell at a glance which are mine and which are his. Currently our appointments show up on the same calendar, on top of each other, and both are coloured red.
Can I change the colour of one of us?

I've been having trouble calibrating my display on my 2010 Macbook Pro with Spyder3Pro properly. The calibrated profile is much warmer unless looked perfectly straight on, which is impossible, and when the screen is tilted down it becomes a deep yellow. I've tried different ambient lighting sources and screen brightness however none of the profiles look good. Has anyone been able to properly calibrate their 2010 Macbook Pro's screen with a Spyder3Pro?
View 2 Replies View Relatednew Dell S2209W monitor to hook up to the Macbook as an external display and so far have been pretty disappointed. Sadly, it's not the monitor I'm disappointed in. First of all, a few comparison shots between the Macbook connected to S2009W and a PC connected to the S2009W:Macbook connected to Dell S2209W:PC Laptop connected to Dell S2209WSo what would you even call that effect? The colors in the shadows looked very dithered or pixelated on the Macbook, yet on the PC laptop the image looks great. Both laptops (the Macbook and PC) are running at the same, native resolution of 1920 x 1080. The wallpapers are scaled the same way on both.

View 4 Replies View Relatednoticed over the last few weeks that when I log into this site the page flashes quickly 3 or 4 times , then I'm logged in, it does happen on other sites too, occasionally but not all the time , running a up to dat MB 10.5.7 with all available updates. Weird thing is it doesn't happen everytime, quite sporadic , I cant seem to replicate it just curious as to what this flashing is and why it's happening.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wireless will work for random amounts of time then suddenly start flashing on and off. For awhile it won't recognize any networks then find them. I choose my network and again it flashes on and off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt happened twice in a row about a week ago (and then stopped, so I figured I'd let it go), but it just happened again right now, so I'm figuring there's got to be something else going on. My only guess would be the battery... but I just had that replaced a few months ago, so it seems kind of odd to be having problems already. If it is the battery, how severe of a problem would this be? Is there something I could do to fix it, or can I just live with it until the end of the school year... or do I need to have this fixed ASAP? (And on the off chance that this is a related problem, my speakers have been making that funny crackling/static sound when I wake the computer up from sleep... I was reading some threads about that around here, but to the best of my knowledge the problem was never really resolved.)
View 2 Replies View RelatedIm not sure why but when i first turn on my macbook a very fast pop up comes on and goes away. It has been happening ever since i turned my firewall on last week after realizing it was somehow off.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI use my MBP connected to a Dell U2410 and everything has been ok for the last 5 months or so (I got the MBP around the beginning of Feb.). However recently, my display will start flickering (blinking) a blue screen up to the point that it is completely unusable. Often if I simply unplug the mini displayport from the mbp and plug it back in again, everything goes back to normal for awhile. Just now I was able, between flickers, to switch from the integrated graphics card to the dedicated (?) graphics card. Although I did get a few flickers logging back in, so far it's been ok.
