OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail Downloading Multiple Copies?

May 27, 2012

I have noticed that when Mail is downloading my new email, and I look at the "Mail Activity" box in the lower right corner of the application, it seems to be downloading double the mail I am seeing.  For instance, if I see 6 new emails, there will be a blue bar and the message "downloading X of 12 messages" as they come in. It doesn't seem to happen with my Mobileme account, just with my IMAP account from GoDaddy. Only the correct number of messages appear visible in my Inbox. I deal with large files on a regular basis, I really don't want my storage to double, and it just seems like something is wrong that should be fixed.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Apple Mail Sending Multiple Copies Of Email

Apr 11, 2012

Recently, my Apple Mail has been sending from two to six copies of email, timed to the same minute. I've taken to using Thunderbied (which I don't prefer) to avoid it. My theory is that if I can reload Lion it might cure it, but since Lion only comes as a download, I don't know how.

ITunes :: Digital Copies & Re-Downloading

May 3, 2012

digital copies have an expiration date (most of them anyway) & I really don't have much space on my computer to fit all the movies (I think I'm literally down to 3GB). So am I able to download the digital copy to my Mac, delete it from iTunes & the computer to free up the space & then re-download at a later date as long as I'm using the same iTunes login? Also, would this work if I got a new Mac & tried to re-download to that?

OS X :: Can't Print Multiple Copies In Leopard 10.5

Nov 20, 2007

I can't seem to be able to print multiple copies of a document in Leopard. I've tried 3 different network printers (2 windows printers, 1 direct IP printer) using 3 different MacBooks. All running 10.5.1. It'll print 1 copy just fine, but that's it. If you want multiple copies you have to keep sending it to the printer, which is a pain.

Can anybody try printing 2 or more copies with a local printer and see if that works? I think I may have found my first truly annoying Leopard bug

Applications :: Gmail - Multiple Copies Of The Sent Email In Trash

Sep 16, 2009

I have gmail set up on my mac & iphone as IMAP. Works great, except for a weird deal whenever I send mail. After the email has been sent, if I go to trash, I'll find multiple copies of the sent email sitting there. I.E.- today I sent a single email(not a reply), and there were 16, yes 16 copies of that sent email in my trash. There was only one copy in the sent mail folder. It's a pain deleting all this stuff.

su user2 -c "/Applications/Skype.app/Contents/MacOS/Skype && exit"

And I just change user2 to user3 for a third instance of skype and so on. how ot automate this process?

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Epson Laser Prints Low On Multiple Pages / Copies

Mar 12, 2012

I have an Epson AcuLaser C2600 which I got some years ago and which has run fine on 10.3, 10.4 and until recently on 10.6. It has suddenly started printing second and later copies of a single page document about 3cm lower on the page than it should. It does the same on pages after the first page in multi-page documents. This does not always happen but does for much or even most of the time. This happens in various applications. Sometimes the printer shows a 'Check paper size' warning but does not stop.

Discussions with Epson have led to checking Print and Fax preferences, Page Set Up, Extended Printer Settings (all of which I'd done) and making some changes to the printer control panel connected to Paper Size and Auto Continue. The problem remains and discussions continue. It is worth commenting that something like this seems to have been an Epson issue for some time but the suggested solutions have not worked for me.

I have stuck on 10.6.7 because there seemed to be a number of printer issues with 10.6.8 and as everything was fine (and I like a quiet life).I have made no OS updates so it is hard to understand why this has suddenly started (unless it is a hardware issue). I recently installed Pages 4.1, the only other changes have been things like updating browsers (and adding a couple of extensions) and other applications.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail App Freeze When Downloading "incoming Mail"

Apr 10, 2012

Its been a while that I've experienced freezing session in my mail app (lion os) so as a natural reaction Force Quit>Reopen was the case. After a while I started to notice that it only froze, as in giving me the rainbow wheel, when it was downloading an "incoming mail". Since i get quite a bit of work related pictures and media filled news letters my mail app goes rainbow wheel quite often. After an incoming mail is downloaded, my mail app goes back to fully functioning. There is absolutely no other problems with it. Its just that when mail is being downloaded i cant use my mail app and its starting to get annoying.

Im running a mid 2009 MBP 13" with  V 10.7.3 and my mail app version is V 5.2 (1257) . I have growl for mail installed as a plug in but i don't think that's the reason for the freezes.

why I have multiple 'sent' folders in one of my mail accounts?

As you can see from the screen grab, relating to the 'Skittles' account, there is one 'sent' under Inbox/Skittles, one under 'Sent' and another further down under SKITTLES.

What seems to happen is that any emails sent from my Mac go into one folder, ones from iOS devices go somewhere else, etc.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Differentiating Between Multiple Gmail Accounts In Mac Mail

Apr 23, 2012

My issue was that my wife and I both have separate Gmail accounts, but when she would use the Mac Mail program on our MBP, when she would send emails, it showed her name, but came from my Gmail account, and when people would respond to her emails, they would come to my email address. The issue is that according to MacMail, you are using the same outgoing Gmail smtp server, so you need to differentiate the two.

Go to Mail > Preferences

In your accounts, click the drop down that has Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), and click "Edit SMTP Server List...". When that window comes up, you'll see two different entries for Gmail, with the same outbound SMTP. Click on them individually, and you'll see the different Gmail account credentials.

Change the description of each (I changed mine to my and my wife's names, to easily identify which SMTP went with which mail account) and ensure that your Gmail credentials are accurate. Click Ok.Now, under each of the Gmail accounts, change the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop down to match each of your Gmail accounts, and click the "Use only this server" box.

OS X Mavericks :: Mail Sends Two Copies Of Message

Aug 26, 2014

When you compose a Mail message, if you double-click the send button it sends TWO copies of the mail? I just sent someone a message, and my hand accidentally clicked the mouse twice when I hit send.  I heard two whooshes and saw two message windows briefly appear.  And sure enough, two copies listed in the Sent folder. I thought I'd sent an earlier draft which was sitting behind the first message.  But no -- I tried it again with a new message to myself.  And I received two mails.

MacBook Air :: Mail Not Saving Copies Of Sent Messages To Sent Box

Dec 6, 2014

Messages sent from my Macbook Air are not being saved to my Sent box when working from home.  I have researched this issue online and can't find a solution.  Discussion seems to indicate the Macbook Air Mail problem is common and well known, but Apple has not acknowledged or provided a fix.

This problem is not insignificant as I cannot use my Macbook Air for work-related activity at home.  While I have all my email accounts synced with iCloud, the Macbook Air messages sent from home also do not appear on any of my other devices.  I don't experience this problem at home if I use my iPad, and sent messages appear in my iPad Mail Sent box and on my other devices.  Due to functionality issues, this means that I have to use my Samsung laptop if I work from home.  Not a great recommendation for the utility and convenience of the much more expensive Macbook Air .

Applications :: Mail Application - Several Copies Of Email Sent To Recipients

Aug 17, 2010

I saved an email in Drafts a few days ago, and just sent it out recently. However, there was a problem during the sending. Several copies of the same email were sent to the recipient. After restarting my computer and the application a message keeps popping up stating: Some actions taken while the account "my acct name" was offline could not be completed online. Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox "On My Mac" in "On My Mac" so that you can complete the actions while online.

Additional information: The connection to the server "imap.gmail.com" on port 993 timed out.
or The IMAP command "APPEND" (to Drafts) failed with server error: Could not parse command. Along with this message the same email shows up in my Drafts folders. I've deleted many copies of them, but they keep coming back the same way. I'd also like to mention that that particular email account is not getting mail for me, but the app is getting mail for my other emails. All accounts are online. I'm not sure what to do.
