View 3 Replies View RelatedI have one IMAP email account and setup various email aliases. I used for each alias also a sender name. I tried to setup different sender email addresses and names in Apple Mail but did not succeed.
I was only able to add a comma separate list o email addresses to one account but not different sender names for each email address.
BTW, I also can't setup different accounts for each email address because they share the same IMAP Mail Server with the same account username and password.

I have a friend where I have a single convo with and a group convo with via iMessages. There were times where his messages were sent from his number, and other times from his email address. As you may know, on the Mac it keeps it in the same window. However, on the iPhone it'll separate it. So he unchecked his email on his iPhone. So now everything will be in one window with him on my iPhone, as well as the 3rd friend. Â
But now on my Mac. I can not use the group convo to send him a message. I still receive messages from him in the window that I've had opened for the last year. But I can not use my Mac to send a message to the 2 of them, because he won't receive the message. Â
With that being said, on the single convo. I was able to click his name and a little window pops open. I was able to select his phone number. It automatically switched over so my messages are now being sent to his phone number. It even displayed "iMessages sent to *phone number*".Â
However, on the group message. I select his name and the little window only shows the fact that his email address is no longer registered with iMessages and asks me if I want to remove it. No matter what I do, I can not see his phone number as a selection. Nor can I permanently remove his email address from the group convo. It will disappear, but once I click out of the window then back, his email re-appears. Â
I've tried quitting Messages, rebooting the Mac but I can not change his contact info in the group's convo. I don't want to delete that message just to start a new one. Unless I really have to
In Mac Mail I have a mix of POP (my main accounts) and IMAP (G Mail) accounts.
Since installing Mavericks the e mail addresses are now all lumped together (as on an iPad) and I do not want this!
how I can go back to separate addresses listed as before? I choose to prioritise my e mails and a whole lot at once is so not where I want to be! (

I searched on this topic and just find old references to "Address Book" which i guess does not exist anymore.Â
I have an Excel worksheet of about 200 names, street addresses, and email addresses, one contact in each row. One column is the email addresses, which is all I want. If I could get the names too that would be nice. Â
I try the Contacts import command, but cannot import the section of the worksheet I want. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I highlight the contacts column in the worksheet and go to the file with the Contacts import command and find it is "dimmed" -- I cannot click on it.

I have a contact for my mom which used to be her first name and last name which I later changed to just "Mom" in the first name box after getting an iPhone. At the same time I started syncing with MobileMe and have been having this problem for about 2 years. Sometimes I can send mail and sometimes I cant. When I can't I sometimes get the 'problem with outgoing server address' message, but the address is correct. Sometimes test messages sent by me to me go into the Important mailbox but not into the Inbox.Messages that have failed send end up copied several times in a folder called Bin.
