Every time I plug in my cell phone to charge up using my Mac, I get the message, �A New Network Interface has been found...� Is there any way to remove/stop this message from popping up as it gets annoying?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI work NOC Support / Operations for a decent sized provider in the midwest-ish area. I configure radios, routers, switches, etc CONSTANTLY. I need an ethernet interface. So I have the ThunderBolt Gig Ethernet adapters.
I plug one in every day, running DHCP, no issues. Then I roll it over to a private IP to setup a radio. At this point, the interface is dropping (because I am rebooting the radio over and over), and I have to change the IP on it consistently. After making four to six changes, the interface just stops responding. In the network prefs, its red, as if it doesn't have a good working connection. I open the network anaylizer, and it shows me that the interface is up, with no IP.
I've disabled the interface by turning it off, nothing. I have unplugged the adapter and the cable, network anaylizer still shows the port up and negotiated at 100/1000, but theres nothing there...
When I attempt to songs in itunes on my computer I get an error message that says: "The song < Name of Song Here> could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" All the songs are listed but can not access them.
My OS: Vista
Have tried:
System restore
restoring via back-up
Uninstalling then re-installing iTunes
Rebooting computer
Have approx 1300 songs only 60 are accessible. Songs are not available on my Itouch. Itouch syncs but no songs there. Issue happened on 2/25 after my wife bought a song from iStore.
So, yesterday I went to burn an audio cd in itunes. When I clicked burn I recieve a message that stated "Disc Burner or Software not found." I then went to About this mac in the toolbar and click "Disc Burning" and it states that there is no burning device found. Help would be appreciated, here are my specs

I know its there(Combo CD burner/DVD reader drive.)
The other prob is that there is a disc stuck in the drive. I have tried all the various methods to eject the disc to no avail including rebooting and holding Cmd-Opt-O-F then typing eject cd but alas I "have no cd drive"
Even other networks can not be shown after I restart my mac ?

I can access Google without a problem when I boot Win 7. I have tried restarting my ASDL modem/router. This was all working fine until a few days ago. I haven't made any networking-related changes in last few days.Here's what's happening. In Chrome 7.0.517.44 I can make an initial search from the search/address bar. All the content will appear but the page will never finish loading. A request for generate_204 from clients1.google.com.au never completes. Then I can cannot make any other Google requests without explicitly stopping the browser. Sometimes stopping the browser doesn't work and I have to quit it and start it again, then I can make another initial request, and the cycle repeats.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a new MacBook Pro (my first Apple!) that I have successfully integrated in my home network. My home network consists of Linksys WRT54G wireless Router; Iomega network hard drive (attached to router); Dlink DPR1260 wireless print server connected to Brother HL5140 printer & Epson RX680 printer; and numerous windows PCs (wireless).
My MBP recognizes the network hard drive folders. When I go to set up Time Machine, it keeps looking for a device hooked into it, but does not search for or see other potential back up locations. How do I set up Time Machine to regular back things up to a folder on my network storage drive?
When I connect my iPhone to the Mac, the attached image always shows up ( as a window ) . I've looked under the iTunes panel for the iPhone and there isn't even a folder that it should be synced...
How can I disable/fix it?
So to the issue: I tried to send an email, not knowing it was 25mb, and obviously it did not go through. I deleted it out of my outbox, and since then it's been popping up in recovered messages non stop (current count is 96). I've deleted the files from the mail app, deleted the temporary files in the mac mail folder, deleted the contents of the deleted folder, and yet the application still "recovers" the message non stop.
Since this has happened I have not been able to obtain new messages from mac mail because it is busy with whatever it is doing
I'm using Mac Mail (newest version) and would like to know how to stop a single outgoing message.
I have clicked on the outgoing message "X" but it continues to send.
My computer is completely dragged down and MAIL will not stop recovering a message I sent yesterday.

so I just booted up my MBP, and I got this message that said that an application called srserviceagent, which is not in my applications, quit unexpectedly. I hit ignore, and the message just popped up again five seconds later. I did this multiple times, before just deciding to click relaunch. Well, all this does is immediately bring the message back up. So I hit report, in which it said that the report couldnt be sent. I have force quit, restarted and shut down already.

I have 3 email accounts that I have added to my Mac Mail. It seems to have chosen my school email account as the default email so every time I send an email, it says it's coming from this school account. I have a primary gmail account that I would like to use as a default. Is there a way to stop this automatic selection every time I compose a message? Even if I select the account I want to use when I compose a new email message, it still sends it out showing the wrong account as the sender.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Google 2-step verification. With my upgrade to Yosemite, all my text messages that previously only went to my iPhone now also appear on my Macbook Pro. In general that's fine, but it's a big security problem. If anyone gets my computer then they immediately have access to all my 2-step codes because the codes will be sent to my Macbook in addition to my phone. Previously I only had to worry about one device (my phone) and but now there is a big problem with my computer falling into the wrong hands.
Is this an attempt by Apple to stop people from using Google 2-step verification?

This is the log entry I am getting when my macbook randomly disconnects from my network.
My airport extreme is still up and running, as my phone is still connected, but the macbook has lsot connection.
The only way I can fix this is to reboot, something i have done almost every day for about 2 months now.
Does anyone know what this error is?
This is a problem in Safari only (maybe it is too good for real connections) it can disconnect as often as every 5 minutes. No other browser has ever had this problem.
The ONLY way I know to make it reconnect is to kill it and launch it again.
I´m just opening this here so that I force myself NEVER to use Safari again as I´m pretty confident this is not a bug but "a feature" ...
Of course, I´m typing this from Firefox.
I need to stop an application from accessing the network, does anyone know if there's a way to do this using software that came OS X or a program that does this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn our house we have 4 macs...two of them are new and I set them up by restoring from TimeMachine rather than with the migration tool as I have done in the past. This was recommended to me as a "cleaner" way to set up new machines (at least on an alternating basis).
On these two new machines I get a popup "Do you the application "microsoft word.app" to accept incoming network connections (this is also for excel or any office product). I'm still using Office for Mac 2008.
The only way I can find to stop these annoying popups is to turn off the fire wall, which I do not want to do (and which I have not done on the 2 mac books and they work fine).
Is there some setting or script I can run to fix this?

Somehow, recently a new error message has popped up that won't go away no matter how many times I click "OK." That means I can't modify my network settings.
Things I've tried:
1) Clear error logs with Onyx
2) Throw away com.apple.networkConfig.plist
3) Repaired permissions
4) fsck -fy
I have had my iPhoto library on a USB drive attached to Time Capsule for some time with no problems. I recently upgraded to iPhoto '09, and still had no problems, so not sure that's related. The library updated ok, and I played with Places and indexed some Faces over more than one session, no problems. Upgraded iPhoto on all the macs and tested their access to the library ok.
Suddenly now, none of the network macs can open the library. iPhoto launches with no pictures visible and has a spinning beechball. I have to Force Quit iPhoto. Same on all macs.
I then copied the library from the networked drive locally to a mac, and iPhoto could then open it perfectly ok. So I guess the library is not corrupt either.
Any ideas why this network setup would suddenly stop working?
Every time i connect to my schools wireless network my connection speed spikes to the max and i can barley use the network, i have disable my computer from broadcasting. nothing in the sharing options is check either is there any why to stop my computer from searching for other computers on the network?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just changed my ISP on my windows 98 machine. Now I am working on the mac and trying to download a message with Mail but it is not working. The computer is connected to the internet ok and I can see the message in my webmail in Safari but it will not download. I have changed my account details in mail preferences but obviously I have missed something. The help file told me to check my network preferences but when I click on that, a dialog box keeps dropping down from the top to tell me "my network settings have been changed by another application" and there is a tab to click "ok". That is all and when I click that, it runs over and over again and doesn't let me do anything else. I don't know what has been altered but I do not want to alter any settings to my broadband connection because that works fine. That is the main trouble I have with a mac.
