Let's say I have my computer connected via Ethernet and WiFi at the same time. Is there any way to see which connection is the one that's actually being used, short of installing iftop?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI work NOC Support / Operations for a decent sized provider in the midwest-ish area. I configure radios, routers, switches, etc CONSTANTLY. I need an ethernet interface. So I have the ThunderBolt Gig Ethernet adapters.
I plug one in every day, running DHCP, no issues. Then I roll it over to a private IP to setup a radio. At this point, the interface is dropping (because I am rebooting the radio over and over), and I have to change the IP on it consistently. After making four to six changes, the interface just stops responding. In the network prefs, its red, as if it doesn't have a good working connection. I open the network anaylizer, and it shows me that the interface is up, with no IP.
I've disabled the interface by turning it off, nothing. I have unplugged the adapter and the cable, network anaylizer still shows the port up and negotiated at 100/1000, but theres nothing there...
I have searched the forums and also the internet to find out how to uninstall the HUD interface mod. I have this mod on a few things. I would like to uninstall this mod, but really just don't know how?

Actually, I plugged it with my vga MS cable but my samsung SyncMaster 2443bw did not show me right the 1920 by 1080 (1080p). The image hidded the side because the image are oversized by a full screen zooming. So, Can I plug with my x360 on my Mac Pro to have a 1080p. I tried the elgato hybrid but there is only a rca plug & s-video so no Full HD.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm at home, I usually use an E-MU 0404 USB audio interface to channel sounds from my MBP. The problem is that every time I turn on the interface, the sound is distorted and corrupt. It is not a problem with the hardware; my monitors and interface work properly. The only workaround is to restart the computer with the interface connected and on, which clears up the sound. However, this is very inconvenient to do every time and I think that it's most likely due to a sound driver issue.

sleep the missing keyboard window decided to popped up, not something I'd expect from a laptop! And if you think that's bad, the mouse one appeared right after!!
So I can only guess the damn trackpad packed in resulting to a non-functioning keyboard ; and to verify, the USB device has vanished from the system profiler along with the preference control panel!!! Thankfully Apple had some sense, they didn't wire everything through the trackpad as the blue-tooth and power button still functions

View 24 Replies View RelatedI am using a recommended M-Audio, Fast Track interface for home recording on GarageBand. All aspects of the interface work really well except that my recorded tracks, which play back very loudly on my Companion 3 system but when I switch to the headphones on the interface, the volume decreases greatly. I'm not sure what the "Monitor on/off" on Garageband does as it has no effect?

But all I have for an interface is the older model Tascam us122. And the power source for that is when the usb connection is plugged in. But when i've recently tried to plug that into my Mac, the Interface won't turn on, or the Mac doesn't even recognize that something was plugged in. I am a new Mac owner, from a PC. So is this normal...should I have to search to find where the source is to be turned on??? Or do you know if Tascam is even compatible with Mac

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an iMac with 1.6 PowerPC G5 and am running OSX 10.5.7. I just received a notice to upgrade OSX and did so. Now I have lost my wireless keyboard, and when I put my mouse on the header of the desktop to open anything all I get is the dreaded beach ball. I can't open my airport, bluetooth, volume control or anything on the desktop header. I tried to go through System Preferences (which I could open) but when I try to open bluetooth there all I get is the beachball and have to force quit.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo two programs I use, Transmission and SABnsbd+, have web interfaces. It seems like this is tailored for use from another computer on the network. I would like to use the web interfaces to control my home computer while I am at work. To do this I think I need two things:
1 - a static IP. I think I can use [URL] to achieve this.
2 - somehow make some password protected entrance so that I can connect to my home computer securely.
Ideally, I'd like to access a URL that is my home computer, type in a login and password, and be presented with the program's web interface.
Does anyone know of a way to remote control a mac from a web page (with a Java applet or something) that is actually on your computer. I know LogMeIn can be used, but then all of the data goes through the LogMeIn server, and I would like a server that I can run on my mac, independently from any other server.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is by no means a "new" topic, as both the Gmail interface and Mail.app have been around forever, each increasing in simplicity of use and features since their inception. I have a blackberry, but also use the gmail web interface. I've been noticing many productivity freaks stating that they use Mail.app, and I don't understand why? The way gmail handles conversations is much neater and tidier, and the instant search is fantastic. The only thing I can see is the use of folders, which Gmail can nearly do with tags. So what am I missing? Can Mail.app increase my productivity and efficiency? Or would I just be downloading extra junk to my hard drive to be viewed and managed in a less efficient way?

According to Lexicon, I should be able to connect the hardware and it will pop up in my audio devices...but this hasn't happened.
On a possibly related note, my audio/midi setup (under utilities) says 'output is not supported'.
I am looking for a way to connect my Mac pro to two different networks and have mail traffic run through en1 and all other traffic run through en0. Basically our corporate email is on supported accessible on Network A, but the majority of the work I have to do is only accessible on Network B. So to get access to both I have to use two computers and a KVM switch. Not the prefered workflow. I thought about using a virtual machine, but then I'm using up a bunch of valuable system resources just to run Mail. Seems like I should be able to point all traffic for a specific IP address to route through a specific network interface, but I can't seem to figure out how.

i made an icloud alias a few weeks ago and everything worked out fine. i could sent and recerive mails in mail and also in the web interface. but since a few days one of my icloud aliasses doesn't appear on the web interface. that's a problem because i want to delete it. how can i delete it if it doesn't appear?through mail i can still sent and receive from this adress. but i still can't delete it because obviously it's not there...

running OS X Lion, and try to backup to a Stora NAS with Time Machine. Have (as so many others) struggled to get it to work, now it seems OK, I have a full backup, and two incrementals have run OK.But the restore GUI! I did have it up and working some time during all my backup tries. But now I can't get it to display. I press the "Go into Time Machine" from the TM symbol on the menu bar. I get the connect to disk progess bar, and it seems to succeed, because I see an icon on my desktop "TimeMachine backups" and in Finder I get the Time Machine entry under Devices. But how do I get nice GUI to be able to browse back in time and restore? When I saw it before, I can't even remember what I did to get there, it just appeared... But not now...
