OS X :: When Burn I Recieve A Message That Stated "Disc Burner Not Found?
Mar 16, 2008
So, yesterday I went to burn an audio cd in itunes. When I clicked burn I recieve a message that stated "Disc Burner or Software not found." I then went to About this mac in the toolbar and click "Disc Burning" and it states that there is no burning device found. Help would be appreciated, here are my specs
Mac mini C2D 1.6Ghz
2Gb Ram
OSX 10.4.11
I know its there(Combo CD burner/DVD reader drive.)
The other prob is that there is a disc stuck in the drive. I have tried all the various methods to eject the disc to no avail including rebooting and holding Cmd-Opt-O-F then typing eject cd but alas I "have no cd drive"
i have Vista installed on my dell laptop (gaming) and i cant seem to burning a cd, when i try itunes says "Disc burner of software not found Disc burner of software not found "Disc burner of software not found". I did install Nero burning software so maybe that is the cause of the problem. Is there a way i can work use both without having to uninstall one?
What does this mean? I didn't download a new version of itunes, I haven't changed anything now all of a sudden every time I try to burn a CD I get this message and none of the other message boards work.
I read a few old threads about this that said to check the disc permissions on disk utility and did all that. I read something else that said turn the computer off and turned it off and then on again but it didn't work. This is the first disc I have tried to burn since downloading mavericks. I haven't had any trouble before although I don't burn too many discs. I have an early 2009 iMac.
Info: iMac (20-inch Early 2009), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
I got an error message while burning a CD in iTunes - "the attempt to burn a disc failed. The burn failed because of a medium write error."What does this mean and how do I fix it?
Mail is acting really stupid. It won't send messages, and is overall just acting weird. When I close mail, it gives me an error that says,"Some actions taken while the account Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online.Additional information: Operation could not be completed. (MFMessageErrorDomain error 1028.)
I recently purchased a LG GP40LB10 external burner I try to do a back up in time machine but the burner isn't found The DVDÂ burner is found in disk utility also my USB doggle are also found in Time Machine?
I have two early 2008 Mac Pro 8-core computers, both running Leopard 10.5.8. The backup computer has a system hard drive that is an exact clone of the primary computer. They both burn data or video dvds fine using their internal drives. I just got an external USB Samsung bluray burner. It burns dvds and blurays (data or video) fine on the backup computer using Toast 10, or the finder burn function for dvds). But the external usb Samsung will not burn either dvds or blurays (neither date or video) on my primary computer. With blurays it just stops, and with dvds it gives some sort of error message. Since both computers have exact same system drives.Â
Info: Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), early 2008, 8-core, 10G Ram
I have a white MacBook and want to burn something to a DVD but it is too big. I have an external DVD burner (LG GSA-E60L 20x DVDRW DL USB 2.0 External Drive) that does dual layer burning but am not sure how to use it on my mac. Can I just plug it in and use Toast Titanium to burn?
I have looked through previous posts about something called firmware causing problems with a (I am assuming) later version of the DVD writer but can't find anything specific to my one.
Basically my DVD will no longer burn phots or music to disk. I have tried different disks but with no luck , all I get is a message along the lines of the burner is not calibrated.
The computer is a iMac PowerPC G5 running OS X 10.4.11 and the firmware listed for the burner is FA0G.
iTunes doesn't recognize the CD I put in the cd burner, it spins and tries to read it then stops and won't eject it. No error message, and no cd icon to use reject. Command-e and eject button on keyboard don't work. iMac running 10.6.8. iTunes version 10.6.
I just installed a Pioneer Blu-Ray Burner on my MacPro 3,1. I'm using this burner for data backup.  The first two BD-R's worked using the Finder for burning but soon after that the BD-R's stopped verifying successfully. It will burn but then it gives me an error like this: Sector 6756448 is unreadable. Verification failed. 72% Some things I've tried.Â
1. Turning off sleep functions for the hard discs.
2. Lowering the burn speed to 2x.
3. Purchasing Toast 11 Titanium to use for burning.
4. Checked firmware and it is the latest. ver 1.06Â
The other bit of interesting info is that I installed the same drive on a MacPro of similar vintage and had no issues. More later on those specs.Â
Every time I plug in my cell phone to charge up using my Mac, I get the message, A New Network Interface has been found... Is there any way to remove/stop this message from popping up as it gets annoying?
When I attempt to songs in itunes on my computer I get an error message that says: "The song < Name of Song Here> could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" All the songs are listed but can not access them.
My OS: Vista Have tried: System restore restoring via back-up Uninstalling then re-installing iTunes Rebooting computer
Have approx 1300 songs only 60 are accessible. Songs are not available on my Itouch. Itouch syncs but no songs there. Issue happened on 2/25 after my wife bought a song from iStore.
I ran disc utlity and it came across a lot of errors. But the one thing in common with all of them is that they all start with "ACL found but not expected on" and then it shows a bunch of applications.
i'm attempting to load win7 onto my MAC. Thus far i have downloaded the .iso image off MSDN (throught my university, for all intents and purposes should be as legitimate as an off the shelf copy)Â and burned it to DVD as a bootable disc image. however for some reason when using Boot Camp im told "The installer disc could not be found".There is data on the disc however when i go into the disc via finder it appears empty (no icons)... even though it is not (get info > xyzMB used).
I have an iMac and am running OS X 10.8.5. I am trying to re-install my HP desk jet software but when I put the disc in, it doesn't pop up on the desktop and I can't find it in Finder. There's nothing in Devices. I've looked at all the settings and cannot understand why it's so difficult to run the disc. In System Preferences > CDs & DVDs, I have tried both all options including open in Finder and "Ask what to do". Nothing happens.
My imac G5 failed to start properly today, just getting grey screen. I tried all the things suggested in the postings and managed to get it to the stage where I could reinstall via Time Machine etc but there was no disc to find on the imac to install the data too. Has my hard drive died? what do I do now?
My friend ripped a CD via EAC into FLAC files, so that I could then burn a CD-R copy. I've done this multiple times without issue. However, with this current rip, the total file size is 708MB and does not fit on a regular CD-R disc. I'm a bit confused because all the files were ripped from a single Red Book CD. Is there anything I can do to reduce the total file size so that it fits on a CD-R disc (without removing one of the files)?
I'm trying to burn photos to disc but get message there is not enough memory to do so. I have deleted all extra photos and movies and files possible but message continues. Is there something I can look at on the Pro to see where all the memory is being used?
I recently burned a project to DVD. It's a data disc, and seems to have worked fine, about 1.2 GB of the four available on the DVD-R I burned with a Superdrive on my G4 desktop.
I told it to write session in Toast 7 Titanium, but when i try to burn something else to the disc, Toast rejects it. With DVD's, can you only burn one data disc? No multiple sessions? It's okay if this is the case, I just want to know.
I am having trouble burning a disc of a slide show to be used on a windows PC. I haves managed to burn one which operates ok on the mac but cannot fathom out how to do one for a PC
Info: iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
When trying to burn a DVD via Finder, I get an error message of 'error code:- 0x8002006E and the disc wont burn. One time the disc wouldn't eject but I finally manged to do this via Disc Utilities. I have also tried to burn the DVD through Disc Utilities but it seems to get stuck when trying to create a new disk .dmg file.I recently had to have a new graphics card installed, and have had a few problems since with sleep and mounting external drives. Could this be connected?Â
