My Itunes works properly, except for everytime i watch movies and I want to try to go to full-screen modus. My Itunes either closes or there is just a black display with sound. The problem is then cannot exit with esc or apple Q,or even pushing the start-button of my macbook.

I've just noticed this happening tonight. I did perform todays Mac Update but I don't know if they are related. Whenever I try to open "Macintosh HD" (my boot drive) the Finder closes. Does anyone know what the solution could be? I was able to run a "verify disk" and it said there were errors so I did a reboot to my Snow Leopard start up disk and was able to repair the errors.
I've googled everything I can think of and can't seem to find anyone else with this issue. I'd rather not have to reimage the machine. Upon further investigation I've noticed that the problem seemed to have started on June 20th. I can access the back-up folders of my Time Machine for "Macintosh HD" for all dates prior but starting on the 20th if I try to access the Macintosh HD backup folder, Finder shuts down just as it does with the current Macintosh HD.
When I try to open attachments in hotmail safari often closes?

It seems to be happening on certain pages, but a lot of different internet sites. Could it be the internet? I ran a virus scanner (XCLAVE or whatever the name of it is) and it came back clean.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a PPC iMac G4 running 10.5.8. Both in Safari and Firefox, some sites open right away (mail.yahoo.com, wellsfargo.com, apple.com). But others will not open or will take minutes to open (yahoo.com, mail.google.com, wunderground.com). Bizare for sure. Set up static IP address to find this mac on my network. No settings have changed since this system was set up a few years ago. Other PCs on my network work fiine. Also rebooted DSL modem, and router.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt just started today. I tried opening a site inside 4shared.com and it won't open. It worked yesterday but it doesn't work today. It gives me a blank page and kept on tittering the entire time. I already updated my Mac's software. Nothings change.

What does this error message mean? I have had my MBA since Feb, and never had this error. I get the error, in several languages, and the computer is frozen at that point. A restart gets me back up and running until it happens again, usually within; an hour or so. Always while using Safari.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm posting what appears to be the first such post in a long time. My brand new Mac Mini 2009 will not open certain websites, no matter which browser I use (Firefox, Safari, or Opera).
The list includes all sites at the following domains but I am sure is not limited to:[URL]
My wife's PC and my old PC all open these sites fine. Other macs on my wireless network also open them fine.
The message I get is that the browser could not connect to the server. The connection is fine as I can open other pages.
I have put lots of time and effort in my iweb project. Just got a new computer and installed iweb. Following advice in this forums, I copied the Domain.sites2 dir into my new ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb, but iweb still doesn't recognize my project!! It is as if nothing was there
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I go back on the computer in the morning, the computer seems to choke on everything - anything I do gets me a beachball (click OK on the "you have been disconnected from AIM" dialog? Beachball. Trying to open a window in an app? Beachball. Trying to open a menu? Beachball). After a few minutes, the computer just freezes and so can't do anything about it. I had to hard reboot and the same thing happens after the start up. This happened a few times, but today was the worst - the computer just froze. I can move the mouse, but that's it. The GUI is totally unresponsive. I had to hard reboot to get out.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro, one of the Santa Rosa models with the 8600M GT. It's run perfectly for nearly two years - up until about two weeks ago. Since then, it's experienced three pretty drastic system-wide crashes. Each time, the screen flashes white three times and freezes, requiring a hard reset - the mouse still moves, but the computer doesn't recognize any input. Curiously, each time I've reset, the computer has had an instant kernel panic at the white boot screen with the Apple logo, requiring another hard reset. After this it's booted fine.
Each time I've had a reasonable amount of stuff running - Safari with, say, 15 tabs, Quicksilver, Ableton Live 8, Newsfire, iTunes, iCal - but nothing excessive. I can't really make head or tail of the panic logs, but each of them seem similar, and all mention kernel extensions com.apple.NVDAResman and com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily repeatedly. I've also had a couple other occasions where vertical lines have flashed down the screen momentarily. Am I right in thinking this is all most likely related to the graphics card starting to die?
My computer screen is skipping and switching erratically between sites/functions. Sometimes it just switches to a grey dashboard screen. Has anyone had this problem?

In my menu bar, I have my favorites, and some are actually folders. Since switching to lion, those folders are marked by a square. When I click on them, every site within opens up and knocks out whatever site I had up. For example: In YAHOO, I have three bookmarks within (Yahoo, Yahoo Mail, and Yahoo UK) When I used to click on the folder, I was given a sub menu from which to choose. Now all three open up.
In SAFARI 5.1.4.

In the last two years when I have attempted to update my security on my Macbook Pro (Tiger OS) it has either not completed the download or frozen my computer. I've had to back up and erase my hard drive twice and reload everything. Is there some sort of bug in this update? I want to update to snow leopard but when I've tried with the upgrade disk it tells me that Snow Leopard will not install on my OS. Will the security update facilitate that?

I'm probably bringing it to an Apple certified repair center, but I don't trust them as much as I do the Genius Bar, plus I'm pretty good at DIY stuff, so is it possible to fix this by myself?
My newest discovery is that when my computer freezes up what ever sound is playing makes a skipping noise and then I have to kill power to shut off what is the cause or how can I find out is there any log I can run or check to see the last action process that went on?

This started happening out of the blue a couple of months ago – Everytime I download something, usually word documents from email or an update (basically anything that makes the file whizz into the top right hand corner and start its downloading), about 30 seconds later the spinning ball comes up and the computer grinds to a halt and the only option is to hold down the on button to restart.
When it loads up the thing hasn’t downloaded. So at the moment there is no way to open email attachments which is essential in my job.
P.S: It’s an old company laptop so don’t have the original disks for any software such as word so deleting and re-installing is not an option. I also have no recollection of downloading anything that could’ve affected this.

This is my biggest software design pet peeves. I hate when applications make too many choices for the user. Don't get me wrong, I don't like when a program asks the same question over and over again either. So I'm using firefox and I had about four or five windows open. And it froze up for over five minutes so I force killed it. When I opened it again it automatically tried to open all those websites I had open before - all at the same time. This isn't even a bug, it's the designers bad choice. I don't even need them open. I was only still using one. And I don't know which one caused the freeze (probably a flash heavy website like abercrombie) but I certainly don't want to open that one again. I'm trying to get Firefox to not do this anymore.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook pro, bought it May last year(2008). I don't know much about computers, but I loved the transition between pc and mac, had no trouble with it, loved to work with it, until now. I had noticed it became slower like 3 weeks ago, and a week ago, it started to freeze up on me followed by a message that said please restart your computer by pressing the power button and the screen becomes dark. When I try to restart it again, it takes a while because it shuts down again and again, until the 10th time it works. The store told me to clean intall, which I did yesterday, it seemed to have worked, it was faster for sure, but today it happened again, 3 times! Has this happened to anyone? Does somebody know what to do?
