Safari :: Everytime I Open It Closes All My Other Programs
May 27, 2012everytime i open safari it closes all my other programs. it will go to a blue screen for a second. then right back to my desktop but all my programs i had open are closed. i.e. itunes & garageband. it's seems everytime i try to watch video on yahoo.

Feb 2, 2010Since December, for some reason, I can no longer send attachments (i.e. Word docs) through my Hotmail account. I had been using Safari, but have also tried using Firefox without success. I can send attachments through my Yahoo account, but I prefer to use Hotmail as this is my main account.

Jul 1, 2010I've just noticed this happening tonight. I did perform todays Mac Update but I don't know if they are related. Whenever I try to open "Macintosh HD" (my boot drive) the Finder closes. Does anyone know what the solution could be? I was able to run a "verify disk" and it said there were errors so I did a reboot to my Snow Leopard start up disk and was able to repair the errors.
I've googled everything I can think of and can't seem to find anyone else with this issue. I'd rather not have to reimage the machine. Upon further investigation I've noticed that the problem seemed to have started on June 20th. I can access the back-up folders of my Time Machine for "Macintosh HD" for all dates prior but starting on the 20th if I try to access the Macintosh HD backup folder, Finder shuts down just as it does with the current Macintosh HD.

Jun 28, 2012Am I imagining it, or did Cmd-W use to close the active tab only?Now when I want to close a tab,I hit Cmd-W and suddenly my entire Safari window closes.I notice in the File Menu that Cmd-W is set to close window and there is now no keyboard shortcut to close a tab.When did this change and why? Sep 23, 2009Why do attachments rec'd on my mac (10.4.11) through aol have to be downloaded before being opened? Then you have to open a zip file or open a variety of folders before you get to the item sent. Other computers allow you to just click on the attachment and the file opens immediately.

Apr 29, 2012When I'm in Mail and try to open or save to my computer and then open a pdf in Preview, I get an error message -"The file “Proposal to Seattle City Light - Wolverine Study 6Mar2012.pdf” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize." This happens with all pdfs in Mail. However, if I go to email account on the Internet and download the pdf it opens no problem. This is a new problem, though I can't say if it started happening as soon as I upgraded to Lion or if it happened sometime after (definitely not before).

Jun 9, 2010Ever since I downloaded Safari 5, I have been unable to access my hotmail. I've tried deleting cookies and still nothing.
I've also tried Firefox and my iPhone's Safari and it works fine.
Has anyone else been experiencing these problems?

MacBook Pro :: Freezes When Open Word Attachments?
Aug 22, 2014This started happening out of the blue a couple of months ago – Everytime I download something, usually word documents from email or an update (basically anything that makes the file whizz into the top right hand corner and start its downloading), about 30 seconds later the spinning ball comes up and the computer grinds to a halt and the only option is to hold down the on button to restart.
When it loads up the thing hasn’t downloaded. So at the moment there is no way to open email attachments which is essential in my job.
P.S: It’s an old company laptop so don’t have the original disks for any software such as word so deleting and re-installing is not an option. I also have no recollection of downloading anything that could’ve affected this.
