This one has me banging my head! I am not able to open certain web sites from Safari, Fire Fox or G Chrome. But I can if I do it within Parallels...Can someone help with this? I have done a search on this forum, but have come up empty.I rely need to do some work using the web site that I cannot open.
View 3 RepliesAll of my browsers, Safari 4.05, Chrome 5.0.375 and Mailplane, freeze upon going to certain sites or when I check my mail. Like, when I go on Youtube, it would freeze on the huge banner ad, yet when I'm linked to a video and go to it, it doesn't freeze and the video plays back fine. Email doesn't work either, both GMail and Yahoo Mail. And it doesn't work on my mail application Mailplane. And sites like [URL] both freeze up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am sharing a laptop with my gf running Leopard. Her login is fine. On my login all three of my browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) only go to lite versions of websites. Lite.Facebook.Com, Espn.go.com.
Obviously this is something at the login level where my login is reporting that I am a mobile device not a full computer. I am at work now so I don't have my machine to check or give specs on. I was hoping someone could give me a quick fix for this.

Notice Firefox shows the outlines of the text boxes. Is there anyway to correct this? Or is this a problem with Firefox? I believe it renders correctly in Chrome as well.
I have a PPC iMac G4 running 10.5.8. Both in Safari and Firefox, some sites open right away (mail.yahoo.com, wellsfargo.com, apple.com). But others will not open or will take minutes to open (yahoo.com, mail.google.com, wunderground.com). Bizare for sure. Set up static IP address to find this mac on my network. No settings have changed since this system was set up a few years ago. Other PCs on my network work fiine. Also rebooted DSL modem, and router.

Good day everyone. A few months ago I asked for help regarding my browsers constant crashing. The problems still exist. I am taking some online courses since I lost my job a few months ago, but it has become impossible to complete these courses because my browsers keep crashing. I tried Safari, Opera, Firefox, and even Netscape, but they all keep crashing. I took advice from one of the people who responded. That person suggested that I created a New Account with Safari alone as my browser, but Safari also crashed with that new account. What else can I do? I paid for these online courses but I cannot keep my browsers open long enough to even finish the first session.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had some updates for my Macbook Pro (snow leopard- up to date) and for some reason now I can't open pdfs on the web on either safari or firefox. If I download them it works, but I can't view them on the acutal browser anymore. When I open a website that is the link to the pdf it just pulls up a black page- that's it, you refresh it refreshes the same thing. I reinstalled Adobe reader (I use Preview though) and still nothing. I don't kow *** is going on.

Some time ago my Safari and Firefox sites stopped opening PDF's in 10.6.8. I went to a genius who said there were no viruses, but he couldn't figure out what to do. Not sure if this is a Hotmail thing or a browser thing, but if someone attaches a jpeg to an email I recieve in Hotmail, when I click it in Firefox I get a dialogue box asking: What should Firefox do with this file? Open With [choose...] or Save file?In Safari, it just automatically downloads the picture to the default download location and then auto opens it with Preview.This is so annoying! How do I set my browsers to just open jpegs within the browser?

I'm posting what appears to be the first such post in a long time. My brand new Mac Mini 2009 will not open certain websites, no matter which browser I use (Firefox, Safari, or Opera).
The list includes all sites at the following domains but I am sure is not limited to:[URL]
My wife's PC and my old PC all open these sites fine. Other macs on my wireless network also open them fine.
The message I get is that the browser could not connect to the server. The connection is fine as I can open other pages.
I have put lots of time and effort in my iweb project. Just got a new computer and installed iweb. Following advice in this forums, I copied the Domain.sites2 dir into my new ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb, but iweb still doesn't recognize my project!! It is as if nothing was there
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my menu bar, I have my favorites, and some are actually folders. Since switching to lion, those folders are marked by a square. When I click on them, every site within opens up and knocks out whatever site I had up. For example: In YAHOO, I have three bookmarks within (Yahoo, Yahoo Mail, and Yahoo UK) When I used to click on the folder, I was given a sub menu from which to choose. Now all three open up.

This is my biggest software design pet peeves. I hate when applications make too many choices for the user. Don't get me wrong, I don't like when a program asks the same question over and over again either. So I'm using firefox and I had about four or five windows open. And it froze up for over five minutes so I force killed it. When I opened it again it automatically tried to open all those websites I had open before - all at the same time. This isn't even a bug, it's the designers bad choice. I don't even need them open. I was only still using one. And I don't know which one caused the freeze (probably a flash heavy website like abercrombie) but I certainly don't want to open that one again. I'm trying to get Firefox to not do this anymore.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried 3 of them. Firefox, Flock and Safari. All seem to crash after 3 minutes or so but can last up to 10. It started happening when i was watching some videos on Youtube and then when i went to go and watch another it wouldnt load it up. And since then i have came across this problem. I tried phoning Apple but at �35 just to fix this seems a bit steep. does anyone have any ideas?

I am running OSX 10.5.8 on an iMAC G4 with 768MB RAM. I ran Onyx and repaired the permissions but to no avail. Other websites have failed but the nytimes site causes instantaneous failure.
