i'm in Peru i have a macbook pro uni-body, the tip of the headphones got stuck inside, in my desperation i took it to a pc service and the dumbasses tried to take the tip pasting it with another piece with super glue, now is all ****ed, there is no sound from the speakers and no option to switch it in the output from headphones to speakers.1st i wanna know if its possible to change the piece of the headphones in without changing the hole main board.
The speaker on the top of my screen is muted and I cannot get any sound out of the internal speakers. When I try to raise or lower the volume there is a circle with a line through it underneadth the speaker level window that pops up and everything seems frozen. I've checked online to find a solution and did see a red light in the headphone jack. So I plugged back in headphones and a USB and pulled out the headphones, the red light went off but I still see no option for internal speakers in my Sound preferences. What do I do? I'm trying to avoid a trip to the apple store...
Someone tripped over the wire of the MagSafe charger, and it came away from the macbook, but split the L-Shaped part in half, and left the magnetic end stuck inside the charging port, and the other part exposing the gold pins. Is there any way I can remove the magnetic part myself? Or should Apple be able to do it for me?
After a great time of 4 months with my MBA rev.A SSD touring all over Europe I start to get some problems lately. Different application get stucked all of the sudden moment. Safari get stucked, and viewing drawings or PDF's in "Preview" show often half distorted pictures or weird looking Fonts.
while simultaneously using the real output jack? i'm slowly getting into mixing, and i would like to have my headphones plugged into my macbook's input jack, and have my external speakers plugged into my output jack. is this even possible to do?
The inline remote control in my iPhone earphones is not working anymore on my MacBook. I can adjust the volume but can no longer change the tracks / play or pause. This is on my Mid 2010 13" which was working fine before the upgrade to 10.6.5.I don't think I'm alone with this issue as I've seen a post on this on the Apple discussion boards
I selected shrek's fairytale free app from appstore for downloading. During downloading, i moved/drag the shrek icon inside a game group just to organize my apps. However, a notification poped up saying that the terms and condition for itune has changed. So i broswed it and selected agree. But i noticed that shrek's icon is not in the grouped that previously moved nor on the original location. I go to appstore but it keeps on popping "Download now" "Shrek's fairytale kingdom will now begin to download." . The appsstore is encountering an infinte loop in my phone. By the way, im using an iphone 4s IOS 5.1.1.
have some nice earphones with attached microphone that I use for my iPhone as well as when I'm using my laptop but I have been using Skype a lot lately and would like to use the attached microphone instead of the built in microphone on my mac book pro.The problem, obviously, is that the laptop has two separately jacks for input and output. Is there anything that splits a single TRS into two inputs?
I have installed a virtual machine of Windows 7 (which I hear can be related) for Uni work etc which needs windows. One day I was using my earphones and pulled them out and a red light appeared and I could not get sound. I read online to insert the headphones a few times which resolved the situation. However now sound works fine out of the speakers but when using the earphone jack sound will only come out of one side, does anyone know what is causing this or recommend any solutions?
am trying to make these old old speakers (they are called Sonic Dynamic Stereo System, the only thing written on the whole damn speaker) so that they fit into my computer/iPod/anything with a headphone jack. I read that this could be done online, but here's my problem. The headphones i'm working with have three wires: red painted, green painted and unpainted copper wires. Each of the two speakers has two thicker ones. On the rubber part of one it says "CSA TYPE TI AWM 90degC FTI 26AWG LL47528". On the other there is a white stripe.
How many of you would like to see a HDMI Port? Why the miniDisplay port? Why not remove ethernet jack and miniDisplay port and replace it with a HDMI port. That way one HDMI cable feeds digital video AND audio. Am I the only one thinking of this?
I have just ordered a new MacBook Pro and it does not have enough USB ports for my needs. If I have a USB 3.0 hub and I mix USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 peripherals on it, will the whole hub/computer USB 3.0 port be slowed down to USB 2.0 speeds?I am thinking back to Firewire, if you have Firewire 800 and 400 devices on the same chain, the whole chain slowed to Firewire 400 speeds.I don't think this is the same with USB but wanted some reassurance..
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7), MacBook Air, Mac Mini
Want to run windows 7 inside the Lion OS 10. of my macbook pro. I understand some products like Parallels are helpful, but I want to know which is the most reliable and easy to use product that would seamlessely work between Mac and Windows.
I was working on my 15" (2.2GHz) MBP when a tiny little bug started crawling across my computer screen. I tried just blowing and waving it off, but it kept on just crawling around, paying no attention to my protests. So I smushed it, like it deserved. I gently pressed against the screen with my thumb and that should have been that - a little wipe and back to work.
There is a problem. It turns out, the little bug was INSIDE the screen! I didn't have the lights on so it was just backlit and I couldn't tell that it was inside! Somehow it got in between the glass and the reflector (or something like that) and is now a mushy mess (albeit a very small one - 2mmx1mm) right in the center of the screen.
How can I clean this mess? I JUST (as in 3 weeks ago) had the display replaced through AppleCare but I'm pretty sure this kind of things falls squarely between the "acts of nature" and "acts of negligence" clauses in the warranty.
I've removed the display and bezels, but chickened out once it came time to pull the LCD. Plus, I don't even know if it is possible to further dismantle the LCD anyway so...
Anyone know if it is possible to separate the layers of an LCD? I'm not even sure what those layers are. Maybe over time the bug will just dehydrate and burn away, but I doubt it.
I am having issues with my Dual Band 1TB time capsule for some reason the damn ports won't forward I have enabled the correct settings with the ip address and the ports, but when I use a program to test if the ports are open they are always closed, regardless on pc or mac. Does anyone have a solution to this? I even reset my Time capsule to see if it would work, but no luck.
I got an Intel x25 160GB SSD and I use a Firewire case to carry my old 500GB 2.5 HD. Now the question is, where should I put my Bootcamp for better use. You know, I am afraid, if I put bootcamp in the SSD as well, the SSD will got heavy load.
My 2008 aluminum MBP 15" is not letting the express card stay in. It won't stay and after search for answers to questions, want to open it and check out the express slot for myself. Done quite a bit of my own work before(Like replacing memory slots), but like to know what something is going to look like before going in.
I put a CD in and it disappeared inside the machine itself, not stuck in the drive. I can still use the drive. Every once in a while it shifts and makes an intimidating noise as the drive gags on it. I can sometimes bang and shake till moves to a more docile place. Is it possible to get it out without taking the machine apart?
Here's the deal, I am so frustrated. I am trying to open port 59152 for Transmission on my Macbook Pro. I have the latest releases of everything, I am using an Airport Extreme base station with an older airport to boost my signal/connect my tivo w/out a wireless adapter. I have managed to get it open in the past but there was an update or something a month or two ago and at first it was still open and then it closed. I don't know what changed with the update, all I know is that I did n't change anything.
I have granted permission for Transmission to accept incoming connections on the firewall, little snitch allows it too. I have lighthouse, which worked at first but now I don't even know why I bother having it run. I have the port mapped through the airport utility.
PLEASE don't say to go to portforward.com because they haven't updated the Airport section since Leopard came out, yet every search I do someone repeatedly tells the person needing help to go to [URL]
I am going to attach some screen captures so you can see what I've got going on and maybe point out something I've missed.
i open the mac and it comes up to the loading apple, but i cant put the software install cd inside because i think a cd is already in. Itried opening it and holding down the trackpad, and i hear the cd drive whirring
