The earbuds that came with my samsung galaxy vibrant don't fit into my Mac. Anyone know of a solution, other than buying another pair of earbuds?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a black macbook with 120GB HD and 2GB of RAM running 10.5. My problem is that a little while ago my blackbook dropped about half a foot and I immediately opened it to check if it was okay, as I was scared to death. Until recently everything was working fine...until I decided to put in a DVD. I tried putting it in and it only goes in about 1/3 of the way. Something in the front of the drive is blocking it, which is a problem because I can't push it in all the way. I have applecare until January, but I'm currently residing in Germany for a year, so shipping it to Apple might be a little bit of a problem. I'm including a pic so you can see how far it goes in before it stops.

I have to drag the cursor to top, bottom or side to see what is not shown. The resolution is set at 1440x990 in display preferences.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've ever tried to upgrade a hard drive on a 13", 2007, white Intel MacBook.I was following the directions I had found on the internet.I've taken the old drive out, swapped the hard drive plate from the original drive to the new hard drive and tried to push it back into the same slot, but for some reason I can't get it to go all the way back into that slot the drive fits in.Strange enough, it also feels like it's pushing against something rubbery on the inside.It's less than a 1/4 inch from going all the way back in.I've made certain that all the screws are tightened all the way on the drive, but can't figure out why I'm getting resistence when I try to push it in that weeee little bit.I am certain that I have the drive flipped the proper way too, because I took note of how the original drive was oriented and made sure I duplicated that on this new drive.Like I had said before, it feels like there is something rubbery that's in the way, I just can't get to it.So I'm also curious if anyone knows if I were to take off the top cover on the laptop whether that would expose the hard drive so that I could see why it's not fitting into the connector properly.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI think its safe to say that the ibuds are utter crap. I've gone through three pair in 2 years.
I now realize that I end up changing every 5 months because they just don't last.
Granted, I mistreat them. Rolled up in pockets, stuffed in backpack, etc.
But I HAVE to believe that there's a solid pair out there that has the 4 things I absolutely NEED:
a) Durability.
b) sound isolation. I'm always at the library to stand my music being heard so I usually keep it very, very low. I'd like to change that.
c) Earbuds...I hate headphones.
d) Nothing too outrageous price-wise.
I had an old pair passed down by the guy who sold me my iphone. It was amazing but unf. i lost one of the earbud cushions (has to be screwed in) so I cant use it anymore. It was azur blue, no name or label on it, white ear cushions, a MICROphone (with just a press 'on/off' and 'mic' on it). If anyone knows this brand I'd love to track it down.
just cracked my 17" mbp screen. listening to itunes via earbuds and phone rang. got up to answer and laid earbuds down (1 on table, 1 on keyboard). as i went to get the phone, i kicked the magsafe and it spun the mbp and caused the screen to jet closed....right on the earbud, cracking it.should i pay the $700 to replace the screen on my 2+ yr old mbp or just get one of the new ones?

One day I was using my earphones and pulled them out and a red light appeared and I could not get sound. I read online to insert the headphones a few times which resolved the situation.However now sound works fine out of the speakers but when using the earphone jack sound will only come out of one side, does anyone know what is causing this or recommend any solutions?

I read that this could be done online, but here's my problem. The headphones i'm working with have three wires: red painted, green painted and unpainted copper wires. However, whenever I try to do so, the program insists on lingering on the first slide for a full thirty seconds before going on to the next slide. This shouldn't be necessary to make the music fit - all subsequent slides are at just over 5 seconds, and if all slides were just slightly longer than that, it would easily fit. Even if I delete the last slide, it simply makes the subsequent slide lasts 30 seconds.

I was using Itunes stretched out to fill the whole monitor at that resolution. Upon switching to the macbook, the itunes window is now too large when I switch to the macbook display. I can't even see the bottom right handle that you normally drag to resize the window. Clicking on the + button doesn't help, as it only shrinks Itunes to the mini player. How can I get itunes back to a smaller window size?

My Kids are using an old iMac G3. When I open the iMac, I recognized, that one of the two pins (?), which holds the cpu-cooler is missed. I don't know the exact name of that, and wonder, where I can buy one to fit the cooler again into the right position. I don't wont to buy another logicboard to exchange the parts.

I use skype for calls and find that people have a hard time hearing me with iPhone headphones. Is anyone aware of a splitter for that jack so that I can connect a headphone line and a mic line? I've seen lots of solutions that have a built in mic but I was hoping that there's simply a splitter out there somewhere.

When I plug the speakers jack into my macs sound jack the music that is playing on the mac speakers turns off, but then no sound comes out of my other speakers. My mac is the 13" pro top speck.

- If you get the right adaptor, could you use the audio-in and audio-out simultaneously?
- I presume the audio-out is stereo, not mono. But is the audio-in stereo or mono?
Just wondering does anybody else have a problem with the bad connection from the headphone jack on their Mac? It won't hold in any jack i plug into it and plays audio through the internal speakers unless the connection is pushed right in. It's not exactly the worst thing that could go wrong with your Mac but very annoying all the same!
