how do I get multiple websites and information on my screen at the same time? I am learning wordpress and need to have its instruction page up beside my blog to learn.
View 1 RepliesI have a new macbook pro and I would like to have access to my old files and pictures that were on my old computer. I backed up my older mac onto an external hardrive using timemachine. Can I access those files without "downloading" it all onto my new computer? If so, how? If I can't, do I just need to get a new external hardrive and manually copy those files onto it from my old computer? I still have it and it is still working, just slowly.

This never used to be a problem before the latest Safari update:When I try to open a window of the other Gmail account that I am logged into (multiple sign in), it always freezes close to the end of loading it.All the more reasons to use Chrome.Always forced to use basic HTML mode but it has very limited functionality.

I recently took a position where the previous person didn't leave much in the way of processes or instruction. There are several existing domains, purchased from GoDaddy, hosted locally on our server. I am working on adding a new site and purchased the domain below. I have changed all the zone settings in GoDaddy's DNS manager and have duplicated an existing *.conf fie in the Apache2 folder making the changes within the file to the directory and the domain name. I have also added the directory and set it to be a sharepoint as well as adjusted the permissions.

I recently started a position where the previous person left me very little information. I am not familiar with hosting locally as I have always used GoDaddy. There are several sites set up, so I have some "template" to go off of, but I need the basics.If i purchase the domain somewhere and the multiple sites are hosted on a single IP, how can I direct to a specific folder? Do I just create a folder within the volume all others are then make it a shared folder? Set the protocol options to match one that is alread there?Is there a beginers guide to this, and all the settings and options available somewhere?

This has just recently started happening...when I type in a web address such as [URL] it will pop up and then disappear to a blank screen or some other websites just come up blank....does anyone know how I can fix this. My friend just started a new company and I can't even look at her site because it comes up a white blank screen and apparently I am the only who is having this problem. I have reset Safari and even clean up my hard drive with Onyx. Please help!!! View 13 Replies View RelatedEarlier when i was using Internet Explorer in windows, i used to save in Favourites the various links of common web sites which i used to visit for avoiding searchng for these web sites again and again. Now, after switching to Apple, when i started using Safari, i was looking for similar Favourite folder to save common bookmarks, but i did not find any. Instead, i got one folder as Popular, which i feel as equivalent as Favourite in internet explorer.
Now, to organise the links in alphabetical order, i am unable to organise, since i did not find any option for the same.

My macbook pro laptop recently died and I am trying to access its time machine backup data through Finder on a different computer. In each one of my folders from different dates, however, the majority of the computer folders I would like to access (i.e. desktop, documents, dropbox, etc) have a little red "no" sign in the corner and prompt the following message when selected:
"The folder “FolderName” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents"
How can I gain permission to see its contents? As the former user, I know whatever passwords are restricting these files, but I don't know how/where to go to give permission to these folders. I've tried going into Disk Utility and changing the permissions there, but to no avail, despite successful changing of the "Sharing & Permissions" to "Read & Write" for all listed accounts.

I have three computers on my home network; A dual 1.8 G5 with Leopard, a Macbook Pro with Leopard, and a Windows XP Box. My problem with Safari started about 3 months ago, when I tried accessing a website via my g5. Safari said it could not connect to the server. I assumed the site was down. However, I hopped on my MBP and the site worked fine. In fact, I found a lot of sites that my G5 didn't want to access that my MBP could, on the same network. I have flushed my DNS cache, reset safari, cleared safari's cache, reset my router, cable modem, checked the DNS servers. Everything seems identical between the MBP and the g5. The problem happens in both Safari and Firefox
View 12 Replies View RelatedMacBook hangs on certain websites (yahoo mail, cbs sports, mens fraternity) but only from one of my wireless networks. PC works flawlessly on this situation and macbook works flawlessly on my first wireless router so the problem is tied to the interaction between my Macbook and the second wireless router. I've searched the forums and tried many fixes already that have been posted here or elsewhere: Reset Safari (it then allows me to reach yahoo mail once, hangs on every try thereafter). Go to Safari preferences and uncheck the box for warning of fraudulent sites (no change) Go to advanced settings and input DNS numbers from my ISP (this solved the problem for some websites but not others) try firefox (same problem as safari) software update everything (no help) install onyx (about to do that). network is a DSL modem connected to the first wireless router (DLINK N+). Second wireless router is linksys G (the problem child) and it is hardwire connected to first wireless router.

On my personal account, Safari, FireFox, Opera, and the like cannot access [URL], [URL](or any variation that leads to the same site), any other Google-based websites, my school's online gradebook, nor will it allow me to log into my Yahoo! account, though i can still search on yahoo. I can use the Google search bar at the top of my safari window just fine, but not [URL], as mentioned before.
