After installing the latest version of Photoshop 2014 on my late 2013 Mac Pro my images are showing horizontal banding when editing a layer mask. Adobe said this is the fault of the GPU (Mine: two AMD FirePro D500) and that I should post it here, for Apple to read.

I have photos from my camera that i have imported thru iphoto.
I then go into photoshop and go File>Open>Media>Photos and it comes up with my iphoto pictures.
It gives me the option of clicking on the events or albums, but after that it does nothing. I cant select a photo, or open an event when i am viewing all events. Why?
Also, is there a way i can view the iphoto library files without having to open iphoto and look thru there. Thats one thing i miss from windows is being able to go thru the 'backways' and look at the files.
I know how to change the look of the picture in "ISIGHT", but how can I put color back in certain parts of the picture. A friend helped me with a picture, and I liked it, I would like to add more color to it? Is there a pre-installed app already on any MB or MBP that is almost 2 years old. (16 months old according to coconut battery.) I'm going to keep trying on my own. I might already know, I've never tried to use photo booth on the picture yet. So if I am wrong, let me know what I need to use.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since installing Snow Leopard, whenever I create a new image in Photoshop and save it to a file, and then I go into that file to look for it, it is missing. The only way I can find the file is if I enter the name of the image in the finder window and do a search - then it says that the image is in the image folder - where I put it - but when I go there, it isn't there. So the only way to find and then open that newly created image, is to remember what I called it, and then enter it's name in the finder serach window. The other problem that I notice with Snow Leopard is that the newly created icon images in finder are all blurry. The blurriness seems to be random. Some are, some are not.

When I edit a photograph in photoshop (cs3/cs4 etc, it doesn't matter which version) the preview of that image goes blurry after its saved. The image is the full res still and hasn't lost any quality but when I have the icons that are of a large size they appear really blurry and 'low-res'. I know its a small gripe but it makes things difficult as a photographer when I am trying to organize images that perhaps look similar or I want to see as a whole set.

I have images on my desktop, that are also stored in iCloud. When I open them from my desktop, say in Photoshop, that have an annoying iCloud icon in the lower lefthand corner.. Why is this and how do I make it go away?

A while back I started noticing some odd behaviour in Messages App
We use this at the office to communicate between systems, and often send image files back and forth between co-workers. Recently though a bug began in which images don't actually show in line, but rather simply show the filename and a link to open it in Finder.
The weirdest part of the bug is that if the chat window is open in the background the image will display just fine. However as soon as I switch to make it active in order to respond or quicklook the image it immediately becomes the filename with the magnifying glass icon to direct me to it's location in finder.
I just brought a brand new IMAC 21.5" the base model (NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics) with 4 gb RAM. I downloaded the trial version of adobe cs5 to check if it runs ok but when I am starting things from scratch like just creating things from a blank canvas it runs so slow like trying to paint stuff and render it comes up with a loading screen it just doesn�t do it straight away. But when I am working on photos it seems to run ok. Is there away to solve this issue? Do I need to updated my RAM to make it run smooth?

The issue I am having is that in Server Admin, the netboot image shows in the images list, but does not show up on any client machine. I have tried re-creating the image using the same hard drive, as well as creating an entirely new image. The images just will not show on client machines

I've got a screen scratch that is driving me nuts. I've tried some of the buff compounds, etc. to no avail. applied a screen protector to mask the scratch? Right now it shows up because it distorts the light.

If I change the subnet mask to 255.255.254.0, and increase the DHCP pool from 192.168.200.1 to 192.168.201.254.....will this work.
I have a couple of statically assigned printers, so I am guessing they will need their subnet mask changing as well.

I've just taken receipt of a Linksys NSLU2 "Slug". It's essentially a small diskless NAS that allows you to plug in and share USB hard drives over the network. It passes its own POST, and is connected via a fully-functional Cat6 ethernet cable to an Airport Extreme Base Station 802.11n (hereafter simply, "AEBS") running firmware 7.6.1. In a nutshell: I can't make the Linksys NSLU2 (hereafter known as simply, "the slug") available over the network.
The problem appears to be this: the slug requires that the LAN use a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. This is its default setting and, if it can be changed, I have to get it connected to the network first. The AEBS currently reports a subnet mask of 255.255.252.0. So far as I have been informed, it is this subnet mask mismatch between the slug and the AEBS that is preventing connectivity.I'm currently using Airport Utility 5, simply because I'm more accustomed to its settings. If I launch it, authenticate into Manual Setup, and navigate to Internet>TCP/IP, it displays the following information:
Actual problem:If I edit the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0, and click UPDATE, I get the following error message:The router address you have entered is not compatible with your WAN IP address
It then lets me change the Router Address before continuing. However, neither I nor my friend (whom I do believe knows more than a fair bit about networking) have any idea what this Router Address is. It is in no way similar to the router's Private IP Address assigned using DHCP ranges. It is a Public IP Address, and shares the first two octets with my IP Address. Because neither I nor my friend know what this represents, or what it is for, we're reluctant to mess with it. But until we "mess" with it, we can't change the subnet mask on the AEBS, and thus I can't access the slug!

This worked for me.
I removed all the ATI drivers.
I am using a 3D scene using two lights.
The backgrounds is a soft green/yellow tone.
What ever I do with the lights, they create banding in the animation and the result is that it lookes like bad compression.

I set up my refurb imac 24" 2.8ghz and discovered several horizontal grey and white bands on the screen during start up. It's not as noticeable on a photo background but is there when using a web browser with a white background.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy macbook pro has an issue with banding periodically across the bottom portion of the screen. Usually a little twist of the screen or tap on the back fixes the problem but lately it's being very stubborn. I'm wondering if this issue is an LCD issue or a cable issue. I'm hoping it's a cable issue as the problem has been very periodic. I've attached a couple pictures of the problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing external video banding/noise on a 2006 iMac (2GHz, Core Duo, 20" screen) when using Apple's video adapter (RGB to RCA/S-Video); I use it to connect my iMac's video output to my TV.
The noise is basically diagonal lines running top to bottom/left to right across the TV screen. They are faint and are more like ripples in the screen. It almost seems as though it's not grounded correctly.
I noticed this issue when I first got the computer; I switched the adapter back and forth between my iBook and the iMac and the noise was only evident on the iMac's output. I called Apple and they refused to deal with it, suggesting it was due to the video cable length (20 feet) even though the iBook was fine.
as it happens just came back from a small apple store nearby with the intention of buying the unfortunately I found a display related blocker... : it turned out that the exposed 27" had banding problems that were clearly visible when you opened (for example) a full screen terminal window with 100% opaque black background; if you did, you could see as at least that 27 imac showed very good black levels for over 3/4 from left to right of the display, but as you looked towards right the remaining 1/4 of the screen presented a mild gradient from black to grey that was particularly noticeable in the right edge and bottom-right corner of the display.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just bought the latest and greatest 15 inch Macbook Pro with Retina Display in mid-2014. Every once in awhile, my screen will go dark. When I hit the touch pad, the cursor will show up and will move, on a completely black background. At that point I panic and start depressing the touch pad, when that doesn't work, I try depressing the on/off key; which does not respond at first, but finally the screen returns to normal.? NOTE: My operating system is OSX 10.9.4.

I have a Mac Pro 2014 with two thunderbolt displays and an apple USB keyboard. Whenever I boot up the computer the keyboard doesn't seem to work at first. Often I get hung up on the log-in screen pushing keys to no effect until the bluetooth keyboard dialog comes up. Then after that sits fruitlessly looking for a non-existent keyboard for about 30sec the USB keyboard will start to work. In total I'd say this delays logging in by about a minute. During this whole time the USB mouse and Wacom tablet work. After logging in everything works fine.
Also this might be related, if the computer goes to sleep it can take several attempts to wake it up before I'll get a login screen.
